Gummy smile edition

>weird awkward emotionless person tries to smile
>it's awful and nobody likes it
can we stop
it was funny at first but now it's just unrealistic

this is bad even for doa
it's just autism times autism

I wonder if this is a meta thing, in response to people giving him flak over drawing smiles as a single white mass.

>it's just autism times autism
But that's just Sup Forums

>Would it then be helpful if I attempted the smile?
>It's not even close to being triangular

You had one job, Willis.

Also, what the fuck, is Dina trying to like, pseudosister seduce Sarah into loving her like she loves Joyce? That's far more creepy than the shitty smiles he drew.

Ya see, Dina has autism and thus has never smiled a day in her life

Willis sure is progressive

>Still no upload of the newest porn
>No edits have been done.

Come ooooon.

>Talkity Talk Talk Talk...
God, Shut the fuck up...

That second-to-last panel makes me think of these.

This comic sucks. I only like it when the "villains" are featured.

Does anyone else think that panel two is really depressing in context?

>smiling so much the nasal cavity is visible

Where muh Nazi Josh faggots at?

I sure am glad that Becky was mentioned in this strip.

>four rows of teeth

These things are great

Someone needs to extend this comic by at least 4-6 panels.

Getting kind of an Archie Comics vibe from Sarah, but otherwise it's solid stuff.

Someone should edit the other brother into being a Stalinist.

One step closer to porn, yes!

>Willis trying to say Becky is a realist/direct like Sarah

lol wat

The entire reason why Becky and Dina are dating is due to Becky not using much figurative language. Though this strip kinda makes me think that Dina has a checklist for different chicks to sleep with; she just crossed off redhead and now she's trying to cross off black chick.

>when you try to get your BDSM freak on but don't hash out the logistic beforehand

...

Neither Becky or Sarah seem to have much time for diplomatic language. It's just that in Becky's case, it's because she's proof that not all sociopaths are smart.

Can't have a comic without Poochie.

>women using definite articles

>still thing Becky is a Poochie
She is just as prominent as the rest of the cast. fuck, Joyce, Amber, Ruht and Sall are all more proeminent than her.

Not to mention, Becky is only there when it narratively make sense.

Just admit that you don't like her and give up the BS justification.

She's louder, more in-your-face, and when she's not around people ask "Where's Becky?"

All she needs is access to a time machine.

The more I read this comic, the more I think Willis is a self-hating conservative. All his progressive characters are very negative stereotypes.

>Carla is a self-proclaimed asshole, extremely privileged (her family accepted her and paid for her transition, the work itself looks flawless), and hard to sympathize with.

>Becky is a loud, obnoxious, in-your-face lesbian who cheerfully uses everyone around her without thinking of the consequences.

>Ruth is a butch lesbian who's also abusive, alcoholic, and pulling another probably-straight woman into her web of shit.

>Sal is a criminal, so is darker then her smart and straight laced brother.

>Amber, a woman who fights the typical college campus 'rape culture' is actually a psychotic mess and emotional abuser.

>All the white men are meek and victimized by the progressive archetypes. (Ethan for having the audacity for wanted to keep his homosexuality private, Danny for existing). Joe, someone who Willis tried to paint as a scumbag but failed because Joe respects women's boundaries despite being a huge hound, has been phased out of the strip. ToeDad and Joyce's older brother are exceptions but...

>The stronger conservative characters are shown to be either batshit insane because they're afraid of losing everything, or wildly successful and uncaring of the progressive world. Joyce is being pulled into the progressive world, and so far it has been nothing but her being attacked or really bad shit happening to her. There hasn't been a single positive thing happen to Joyce since she's 'opened her eyes'.

>Mary, the only real 'villain' in the strip, is another woman. She also has done very little to generate the ire Willis is trying to give her

tl;dr - Willis is going to vote for Trump this fall.

...

You forgot Sarah, the worldly and "take no shit" magical negro who suddenly turned into dysfunctional social spaz once he decided to make Sal the new magical negro.

I forgot about Sarah's arc in general. All I remember is she turned someone in for weed, and now is mad that same someone is banging the only black male in the strip.

I think those are two different plots.

And Willis isn't a conservative, self-hating or otherwise, he's a fundamentalist.

Whatever he is, it makes me laugh how people like Cerebus are eating this up like it's great while he's taking a huge dump on all their struggles, imagined or otherwise.

Carla is a trans power fantasy.

>Sal is a criminal, so is darker then her smart and straight laced brother.
It's not even that; Walky "came out whiter", and all that apparently means is that his hair is straight and Sal's is kinky
>that same someone is banging the only black male in the strip
Really? I knew somebody else was getting lucky with Buff Diglet, but I didn't know it was the junkie that only Sarah could see was a complete mess.

Were they a junkie or were they simply sarah's definition of a junkie? She's not a very good narrator and I get the feeling she turned the other one in for smoking up around her once or twice. Keep in mind if it was Mary turning in Roz for the exact same thing, they'd be calling for Mary's blood.

Sarah did face social backlash for turning the girl in.

It's not that he's conservative, it's that he was raised in a sheltered fundie environment that he rebelled against except he still has no life experience for anything other than living a lily white existence in the middle of Indiana so he's writing about gays, trannies, blackers and the like despite the fact he's never encountered any on a regular basis.

There's also the fact that his entire world view and idea of human interaction is filtered through Transformers.

I really want to know what kind of person his wife is and how their relationship works.

That's a horrifying attempt at an intentionally horrifying face. To clarify: it doesn't count

FML this dude's been making comics what, 10 years? Even if he was an amateur doing it for the lulz and attention at the beginning, who the hell doesn't learn the basic volume and structure of a human head in that period of time at least for when he needs to draw characters off-model, specially when your work is 99% people standing around in medium shots?

>There's also the fact that his entire world view and idea of human interaction is filtered through Transformers.

Ah yes, what better franchise to teach you how to relate to people than one where the entire female gender is the product of a mad scientist's insanity.

Assuming Sarah was honest, her roommate was pretty fucked up and was developing severe dependency at an alarming rate. Nobody else saw it (literally - she did it in their room) and everyone was all "Oh, she'll get over it eventually"

I'm not calling her honesty into question, more her idea of what severe dependency and fucked up looks like. I've met people who think getting too drunk at a party and puking is alcoholism. They're usually sheltered individuals, granted, but who knows what background card Willis will pull for Sarah.

>College_turns_you_gay.jpg

IIRC said roommate was doing little but 420 blaze it erryday to the point where she was skipping classes and tanking her grades.

Things are going to get interesting when either the twins are ready for school, or when the Mrs realizes that David's going to be 12 for the rest of his life, whichever comes first.

It was also affecting Sarah's grades, hence why she narced on her now ex-roommate

She looks like a dude.

>And Willis isn't a conservative, self-hating or otherwise, he's a fundamentalist.
This is correct

>this dude's been making comics what, 10 years
it'll be 20 next year
with exactly the same characters

I wonder how much he pulls in doing this plus convention appearances.

I checked the book kickstarters, and he makes around 70k to put out books (yearly collections I think). Interestingly enough his peak backers (and money) was for the third book and they've gone down, although the money has stayed around the same.

Interesting, albeit depressing.

So figure he's pulling a little under 100k a year to draw these things.
Wonder what he's going to do when it dries up.

The more I get to know Willis, the more I have to question just how crazy his parents are.

I mean they let him play with evil transformers toys

They likely weren't as crazy as he makes them out to be. They just expressed views that the world by and large no longer agrees with.

Yeah, but I mean, they may have been fundies or didn't like gays or whatever, but they don't seem actively mean.

His mom made him that cake with his comic on it, so she seems kind of supportive.

And that not letting him play with MLP toys, any parent, no matter how non-conservative, was going to let their kid play with a girls toy back then.

Hell, most parents today are the same.

I'm not saying they weren't assholes, per se, but I do think we can't really trust Willis at face value.

A parent taking MLP toys away from a boy in the 80s was doing a good job parenting. Not because of pseudo-intellectual gender role stuff, but because the rest of the world would kick your ass.

I'd rather my kid hate me for a little bit than to have him go to school and get beaten up every single day.

>I'd rather my kid hate me for a little bit
What if your son is a giant autist who ends up hating you forever and becomes a total manchild who hoards toys well into adulthood?

Honestly, if that's your angle, just let the kid get beaten up. Let him learn not to be a total fop in public.

Sometimes people need hard lessons.

Then when I die, he can fight with the American Red Cross for his inheritance. I'd make sure all the money he thinks he's entitled to goes to people who need it, and he'd have to actively sue a charity to get it.
I might be dead but I can still be a prick.

Nah. He's just a deranged Liberal who genuinely thinks that he's a noble crusader working for the greater good

He's highly idealistic. But Ideals can be warped. Even the guy in the SAW movies was convinced that his traps could make his victims better people

I've taken to calling him "Josh Braun"

Dave seems like the kind of person who'd be a bitch no matter what his parents did. They were probably normal, albeit slightly strict.

>Every conservative Christian is a "fundie"

Stop this meme.

It's not being a prick, it's just life.

Say, "Son, you can play with your MLP toy all you want, but some people might not take too kindly to it."

You have to impart lessons on your kids without making it seem like you're bossing them around.

Do that, and you'll get fucking Willis, a little turd who actively demonizes you.

I get that everyone wants to be the cool dad, but sometimes you have to be stern, because you're raising a person, someone who's going to have to operate in the world autonomously.

>Do that, and you'll get fucking Willis
I think Willis is going to change drastically over the next decade. Raising twins will do that.

>Say, "Son, you can play with your MLP toy all you want

That's what you say if you want to be an enabler. Parents have to say no.

A better parent would lie about the reason. Instead of saying no, get the kid to like something else.
But ya know, if the kid is a faggot you're screwed.

I know most people can't see this unless you see any picture of the man, but on one side of willis's neck there is this gigantic fucking wart. I call it the second head. I feel like theating wart has taken over and kinda made him the SJW he is now.

>A better parent would lie about the reason

Why? Don't shield kids from consequences. Just discourage them from playing with it because they'll get made fun of. Simple as that.

This is just that joke he did about George Lucas' throat in Shortpacked.

Actually it was so far back that it was an itswalky strip.

Maybe he reproduces by budding.

Maybe that's what his wife is.

OH COME ON! You have the easiest joke you can make! "He's more Monster now than man; twisted and evil." and you don't?!?!?!
