there was, it was called Justice League seasons 1-2
(the DCAU was essentially the last really good set of animated superhero shows, and was also better than everything that came before)

The 60's version was way better. More so nowadays because of memes.

MotP got a theatrical release and had a far better OST. It also worked as a standalone story/origin story whereas RotJ required a reasonable amount of background knowledge and was essentially just an extended episode.
Both are fantastic but I think that MotP wins by just a little bit.
