Horror movie tropes

>blood on the walls
>spooky apparition in the reflection of a mirror
>black dog
>entire family experiences paranormal activity except the husband
>trying to communicate with the spirit makes it stronger and angrier
>scratch marks
>dragged by some invisible force
>door slams behind character

>character goes to the library to find out someone died at the house in a fire or horrific murder

>character gets startled by another character in the first 15 minutes

>doggo dies first

>and your other trope

>character sneaks up to another character and puts their hand on the shoulder

This is the worst, and if you do this, you really deserve to die if the character mistakes you for a monster or killer.

>Black people always die first

>monster jump scare immediately before rolling credits

...

>stop at gas station
>ask for directions
>local redneck is vaguely hostile

>gory flick
>creature instantly shreds random schmucks to bits
>main character gets flung to a wall or furniture repeatedly with everything intact

Has there been a horror film about the 'ghost' being the victim of an accidental killing when they tried to spook a friend and the friend killed them?

>Jump scares
Getting tired of that cheap shit

>ghost appears in front of character
>we're not so different, you and I..."

When was the last time this happened? In the 80's?

>tension building errie music
>character wandering through spooky setting
>music reaches fever pitch
>JUMP SCARE
>not the killer/monster but another character
>sigh of relief
>REAL JUMP SCARE

>The black person always die

>character in wheelchair
>gets a machete to the face
>rolls backwards down a ridiculously long set of stairs

Shutter and Alone are somewhat similar to that

pfahaha

>camera shot is obviously set to make you think something will appear behind a character
>it quick cuts to something mundane to fake you out
fucking HATE this shit and it's so common that I don't remember the last time the shot actually set the monster behind the character.

in The Strangers a friend of the victims (who is Dennis from Always Sunny) walks into the house while they are being stalked by killers and the victims jump out of the closet and shoot him in the face.

Thanks. I mean there's been a lot of "highschool pranks go wrong" shit, but I didn't know if it was anything specifically about spooking people.

I'd like one about somebody being killed and them then becoming the 'boss' of the original ghosts/demons whatever.
