R.I.P. Darwyn Cooke

R.I.P. Darwyn Cooke

Here's an odd one to do.
Not really that well regarded here.
Because of what baggage it came with.
Now let's look for an appraisal...

This is-
Minutemen

And here we go...

...

>Before Watchmen
I object on a moral level.

I love that one Mothman page

I liked this and Silk Spectre and I think they would have been well received if not for the association with Watchmen.

I get why people hate Before Watchmen, or at least the idea of Before Watchmen, but hating this and Silk Spectre never made any sense to me. These two stories add a lot to the most overlooked characters in the original story, and it's pretty obvious Cooke had an idea of what he was doing and wasn't just cashing a check.

...

Calling right now, contrarians who refused to read this because of 'muh principals', in 5 years will regard this as his best work second to New Frontier

Remember when this page triggered HoodedUtilitarian?

I don't hate this, I don't love it. That art's fantastic, but Cooke was a better artist then he was a writer. Aside from a few poignant moments here and there, there's not much that's really memorable.

...

Also agreed

Was that the one that went on a rant that broke down how every panel of the book was sexist? Did they have enough steam to get to the end?
