Wasn't Rome fine during the Punic wars? I thought it all went bad after Sulla, or Octavian.

the most upsetting part is that all those soviet weapons were wasted on sandnigs

Yeah but i was referring to Carthage. Honestly Hannibal was a great man but the shitty oligarchs from his homeland barely helped him, so maybe they didn't really deserve to win.

Both were trash, though

Name one good reason why Carthage deserved to dominate Rome? Every Carthaginian except for Hannibal was basically just a Sea Jew who murdered infants between long haul trade missions.

You would favor those guys over the early Roman Republic?

>boers
>good guys
Eeeh.

WW1.

Everything wrong in the world today is a result of WW1.

Singapore is a pointless country too, convenient for you to have missed that out

Carthage didn't want to dominate Rome, they just wanted to keep their trading empire up, Roman militarists were the aggressors.

Yup, that's me. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.

>to protect muslims

Nah, to stop Russia from becoming to powerful. Do you honestly think it's a coincidence that no one likes Russia and nobody helped you in the Crimean War? Even Austria, indebted to the Russians, felt that the Russians were far to big of a treat to help you guys.

It's simple. The Russians were building an empire like their Mongol ancestors - way too big, and leaving nothing but death and destruction in its wake. Obviously all the European powers (UK, France, proto-Italy, Austria, Prussia) preferred a weak Ottoman empire over the neo-Mongol Russian empire becoming even more influential.

That's a lie. There's actual votive offerings that have inscriptions around worshiping sites from the parents that sacrificed their children to the Gods they dedicated the child to in Punic. There's little actual Roman sources that mention it, most of the third-party sources that describe it are Greek or from the Bible.

here's a good post written about it:

>Romans destroy carthage and genocide or enslave most of its people

Weeeew haw dare carthagians sacrifice some children.

Couldn't agree more!

Romans only sacrificed humans in rare circumstances. IIRC, the only verifiable time they did so, was after the Battle of Cannae where the Romans lost, at that point, most of their standing armies, and decided bury alive 4 foreign slaves in the Forum Boarium out of desperation after they allegedly consulted the Sibylline Books (ancient Roman religious book that has since been lost and likley contained the religious traditions of the pre-Greek influenced Latins) on what to do to please the Gods on their side. That was, by all accounts that mention it, them being out of their mind and pleading for any luck to help them.

All the evidence of the Carthagians sacrificing their kids (a lot of which were from noble families) indicates that it was an established and accepted tradition, that they weren't ashamed of.

Carthage wasn't a genocide, you cretin. First off, there were numerous Punic cities around Carthage that the Romans spared because they didn't ally with carthage in the Third Punic War or were neutral, how can you say it was a genocide when the only policy of any killing was directed to only one Polity, and nor does any source say that they killed everyone--they all specifically mention they took slaves, and a lot of Romans presumably had slaves from Carthage or Carthagian prisoners of war as slaves that they would keep alive for their own profit and interest.
