Former Bern victim. I dig most of Donald's stances, but what's the deal with him and the environment?

Like many other things, The Don doesn't understand the problem. But don't worry, he'll make the Environment Great Again.

The environment is not a serious issue.

1. The worst and most dire predictions is a minor increase in sea level rise over the next 100 years.
2. China, Russia, and India wont do anything making our efforts pointless
3. If there is anything we can do about it, it is probably way way to late.

Because of the above the most sensible choice is to simply deal with the consequences of the climate change which from what Ive read isnt that bad.

Also the environment is leagues better than it was 50 years ago so what more do you want!

Climate change is a chink lie

fuck off canada

What's it like always missing the point and caring more about the way somebody says things rather than what they say?

blog.dilbert.com/post/145668188291/trump-man-of-science

It's all apart of the long game.

honestly ,man made global warming is a hoax. there i said it

A

That's a magnificent freakin statue. Was that built with using a plane?

He supports nuclear which the bern man didn't which would help the environment. But besides that its not much of an issue in his campaign.

By building a wall, Trump will help to keep the population small, which will improve the environment in the long run.

China and India are polluting the world way more than we ever could. Shit like fracking is simply not even scratching the surface of what the Chinese spew in the air every second.

Who is the candidate thats hard on China? Trump

If the US cuts back, it will have an insignificant effect. The entire world needs to cut back. So if that is the case, why should the US observe the environmental regulations while other nations do not?

That is why he is saying that the climate change is a Chinese fabrication. He knows that the scientists all over the world are actually the ones who are the ones giving it its legitimacy, but what hes trying to get across is that nations like China and India arent cutting back on their massive contributions to the environmental problems.

China in the past has used things like this in order to get an edge over the US. Currency manipulation, private sector hacks, intellectual privacy law breaking, you name it. Its been suspected that China is now using this climate change problem to their advantage.

This shows what nations are doing what

tl;dr version - even under the most draconian of pro-environment platforms, any good we could possibly do by imposing harsh penalties on fossil fuel companies, carbon credit subsidies, carbon taxes, yadda yadda yadda would be OVERWHELMINGLY outweighed by new carbon output from China. China is currently putting out as much carbon as the G8 countries put together.

Instead of looking at ultimately ineffectual strategies to reduce greenhouse emissions, America should be focusing on

a) Energy independence through the massive overhaul of all available alternative means - some clean coal if necessary, but a greater use of wind, solar, geothermal, and natural gas. We should also explore the option of upgrading existing hydroelectric facilities and substantially increasing our use of uranium fission.

b) Removal of existing greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere to slow or potentially reverse their impact. Several interesting strategies have already been proposed.

If we have Industry here in the states, we have more control on what goes on with it, right now we trade with country's that have little to no care about the enviroment and will not change their methods for the forseeable future. Why continue trading with countrys that tend to use the most toxic methods of manufacturing goods?

I'm a liberal and I'm an environmentalist but the flat out truth is this;

It really doesn't matter what the developed world does, we are around 15% of the global population and white birthrates are below replacement rates everywhere in Europe as it is, far below in some places. Spain for example is 1.2 and by 2050 there will be around 20 million less Spanish people on earth than there are now.

Birthrates everywhere else are exploding, and at the same time these areas are beginning to use modern technology for the first time. India will pass China in population in the next few decades. The Middle East is growing incredibly fast. Africa is exploding and will pass 2.2 billion and be most populous continent by 2050 according to the UN. Nigera alone by 2050 will have more people than the entire USA.

This is where the real tipping point will be for climate change, because these nations especially the middle east and china could not fucking care less about environmental issues or climate change. All they care is if the AC works. The entire drive to push for the West to restrict growth is just a bluff to curtail western growth and power, they won't stop their development an iota, and when they pass limits and thresholds set by accords they will simply cry racism, colonialism and make excuses for why they went over and keep building more power plants.

We might as well just turn up the AC and enjoy the ride, what's left of it. I'm not saying we're blameless for where we are, but were not the ones driving the train anymore, and the nations who are won't stop until it goes of a cliff. That's the honest truth. Just enjoy your life bother.

Who gives a fuck about the environment? Nothing will change as long as the Petrodollar exists. Absolutely nothing will change.

Trump does not care about the environment. He doesn't want to live in a landfill. But he doesn't care if you do. TRUMP FTW

If the environment is in your top 5 concerns right now, maybe you aren't really paying attention.

>2. China, Russia, and India wont do anything making our efforts pointless
Plus it's just harming your economy anyway.

yes all that horrible pollution..... ??

if you cant afford to live in a decent location you are a useless pleb, Kill yourself.

>be me
>see post
>see flag
>be not surprised

Research bunker oil, then research Trump's trade policies. Then you will see why Trump is the candidate for the environment.

This a very reasonable argument against investing in climate change measures. But what about refugees fleeing by the billions when their nations are inhabitable? Crops being unusable due to rising temps? How will Iceland and Switzerland get power?

Just like now we have no moral obligation nor requirement to assist them.

as if the sea level rise was as bad as some people seem to think it is we would have plenty of our own refuges.

but the real truth is the effects of climate change are probably going to end up being,....not a big deal.

The environment isn't a problem. Climate change is a lie for the government to exploit companies and regulate them more and more.

Environment is NOT his thing.

I was at the big FARMERS FOR TRUMP rally in Fresno and he talked about farms and rivers for like 30 seconds, said "all i want is clean air and clean water" then went off on other stuff

stupid issue

Welcome to the Trump side. We have the most energy and the best memes

It literally doesn't matter. The "environment" is a living thing, it literally heals itself.

This. We need independent energy sources.

China and India will do Fuck all for the environment because they are way too populated and have no regulation whatsoever.

Is this the real black pill? That unless we get the resources for interstellar travel or generation ships within the next couple hundred years the earth is doomed?

Once climate change starts to affect the Russian and Chinese economy, then our efforts won't be pointless, but until then, anything we try to do to protect the environment will be in vain

I literally hate your entire country you syrup nigger

>effect their economies

and how is it going to do that?

You do know that wind turbines and solar panels exist right?

You do know the exponential growth of price/performance on information technology right?

You do know no matter how much money you dumb into this technology you can plot the price/performance increase on a graph and it does increase or decrease. Its exponentially increase at an exact rate.

Do you have a time machine to make it 2050 in 2016?

What the fuck do you think a U.S. president or any political figure has anything to do with the environment, no literally think for a god damned 10 minutes if that's what it takes. Candidates may speak some guise of involvement to betterment of the environment but that's merely to appease mouth breathers as yourself. Do you have any sense of how things around you operate? Hoenstly if you want to better the environment here you go:
>nuke China
>nuke India
>nuke the rest of developed Asia
>kill all oil dependent Arab nations
>actually utulize nuclear energy

Yeah if you're following its not likely any political figure is going to have the means to wage war in the name of saving this planet, keep recycling though because you're saving Coca Cola a shit ton of money.

We're all dead within a few hundred years, accept it and care about something you can actually control

Quit using the term Developing and developed world. Its new speak to make it seem like the 1st world is stagnate and "Developed" and the only thing to do now is help the 3rd world catch up.

How many bern victims are going to post here?

Is this some subtle new shilling campaign from the democrats?
