Robin Hood, MCU Ant-Man, Green Arrow, taking away the rich's earnings to distribute them among those who work less, Karl Marx style.

The rich steal more than the poor.

Jesus Christ

This thread was a mistake already

Fuck off. We don't care you failed high school economics.

According to Marx, rich are rich due to labourers' hard work. He wasn't wrong that the labourers do work more, but it isn't economically sound. But I don't think you are either

What happened to the belief that the rich are rich because they work harder? The American Dream.

That's why I absolutely detest Green Arrow. I couldn't stop rolling my eyes during Ant-Socialist every time they called Scott a hero.

I don't think it's supposed to be a liberal or conservative thing. It's more of an anti corruption thing. The rich get richer off the expense of the hard working commoner and get no payoff. The giving to the poor part is so they don't look like an ass hole who's no different than the guys he's stealing from. It's a pet the dog thing.

In the original stories Robin Hood didn't give anything away, he just kept it all. Other writers added the giving to the poor part. It's the reason Aladin gives his bread to those kids instead of having it for himself, or why Ant-man was changed from a conman in Wrights script to a one time felon in the final movie

>rich are rich due to labourers' hard work

That's how economics works. The rich are rich for a reason. If you're poor, work harder.

Serious question here: does Green Arrow take from all rich people, or only corrupt rich people?

Ant-Man wasn't about redistributing money.

>if you're poor you're lazy
sure would be nice to have 100k to piss away as investment capital

But giving what you steal to the poor just makes you seem like a self-righteous asshole.

If I stole a million dollars from a rich man and used it to buy food for starving kids, I'm not a hero, I'm a piece of shit. That man earned that.

>majority of superhero beat up poor people
>get upset for a couple of them attaccking rich CRIMINALS

wow

Scott ended up in jail for that shit, lost his family, his home, and keeps getting fired from any job he finds because he has a criminal past until Pym found him
Now THAT's wish fulfillment

Poor people would have money if they worked. If you don't have money, get a job. That's how it works. You go to work, you get payed.

Robin Hood-type stories precede categories like "liberal" by several centuries. There have always been more poor people than rich people, so the idea has always been popular. Plus, someone who steals from the rich seems like less of a scumbag, since the rich rarely get robbed blind, so they can usually live with it. Stealing from a nice old lady who barely makes rent has a very different feel from stealing suitcases of money from some dude who has a yacht.

yes but everyone knows that rich people are evil.

I'm so tired of the generalization that all rich people are corrupt and only make their money by stepping on others.

Just because Hollywood says it doesn't make it true. Most people are successful because they actually worked for it.

I honestly don't feel sorry for the poor. It's their fault for being poor. If they didn't want to be poor, they should've gone to work.

I think he means more as in "dollar amounts" and not more as in "more often".

>Stealing from a nice old lady who barely makes rent has a very different feel from stealing suitcases of money from some dude who has a yacht.

It's still the same thing. Fuck the poor. They should've worked harder.

Hollywood people regularly make money by stepping on others.

Why do so many people in this thread think that poor people don't work? I mean, that's just naive.

The Thing is hard work doesn't, and shouldn't guarantee success. It's pulling the proper strings and calculated work that counts.
construction work is hard work, sure, but it isn't really hard to become a construction worker. Neither are the odds to become a construction worker high. But the odds to be something like a lawyer or an engineer are quite lower.

They go after poor people when they commit actual crimes. They go after rich people because they're rich. I'm no right wing but I have to admit that it's pretty bullshit.

Because most people here still live off their parents

Excuse me for not feeling sorry about tax evaders, people that use their money to corrupt politicians and other istitution etc.

Call me back when poor people can do that.

>those who work less, Karl Marx style
In something like Robin Hood, that isn't the case at all.
Indeed in Robin Hood, he's actually a fucking Libertarian hero - he steals taxes from the feudal GOVERNMENT [lord] and gives them back to the citizens.

Oh you sweet simple child

>think that poor people don't work

Because it's literally true. It's exactly why they are poor. For not working/working hard.

How hard do you work? I suppose from your attitude you're making $100k a year.

Jesus, I swear, the only people more naive than liberals are conservatives.

What? I have rich and poor people in my family, and I can tell you that the poor side works several times harder than the rich side.

There are rich CEOs that work their ass off, and poor welfare nig nogs that don't. There are minimum wage slaves that work their ass off and trust fund kids that don't.

People don't get what they "earn" or "deserve" in this world kid.

Oh right, makes sense.

>They should've worked harder.
Yes, in a feudal society where appointments are dictated largely by bloodline they should simply have worked harder.

If they weren't stupid and poor they would've been born a few hundred years earlier so they could be the one to establish a nation and have their bloodlike take the ruling position and appoint their relatives to similarly high positions and interbreed to the point of laughable genetic disease.

Stupid poor people, when will they learn?

>tax evaders, people that use their money to corrupt politicians and other istitution etc.

That's just a Hollywood myth. Rich people aren't all like that.

If we're going off anecdotes, I have never met a poor person I care to talk to. I honestly see myself as being above them.

Holy shit I never thought of it that way... wow, how is that not a more well known explanation?

True
It's hilarious how both don't know shit about economics, but like to call out each other for it.

>this
Who the fuck told you that it was anything but blind violent chaos?

The American Dream is the biggest lie in history. It's pretty sad you can't do any critical thinking of your own but are completely indoctrinated into thinking that's how things should be or that there no alternatives

>obvious bait thread 30+ post in this 15mi
>will have more than 500+ and shit up the catalog for days

Saged , reported, told the teacher on you

>It's a Sup Forums thinks they know shit about economics thread

You do realize the guy you're picturing went to jail for his first crime and his second involved stopping someone selling weapons to a major terrorist organization that had not even a year earlier attempted to kill every single person of importance in North America, right?

You get rich by working, plan and simple. Want money? Earn it.

You're tremendously stupid. Like, I'm not upset that you dislike poor people. I'm upset you have no comprehension of variation within subgroups.

>That's just a Hollywood myth. Rich people aren't all like that.
>If we're going off anecdotes, I have never met a poor person I care to talk to. I honestly see myself as being above them.

Sure. People never work hard and then don't get rewarded for it. That literally never happens. Wages are never unfair. Personal tragedies, illnesses and accidents that cost an obscene amount of money never occur. Crippling student debts are not a thing. Dogs can talk and our rivers run golden with beer

You get rich by luck, user.

Sometimes with hard work, sometimes without.

>You get rich by working, plain and simple. Want money? Earn it.

What if my cost of living expenses are such that I don't have the means to save money?

fuck off corporate shill

>Wages are never unfair

Don't like your wages? Get off your ass and get a new job.

Why do you care? It's interesting, I'd like to see Sup Forums's opinions on liberal superheroes. If you don't like it then why not just leave?

...

>cost of living expenses
Change your lifestyle

It seems the new age believes the world should change around them.

>liberal economics
The government will pay for whatever we need to succeed in life, then everything will be okay!
>conservative economics
Money, a wildly inaccurate abstraction of resources with no literal value, is evidence of one's intrinsic worth and any kind of redistribution is theft.
One doesn't see a cliff coming, the other is pure fucking delusional.

last one was something about gay agenda in Loud House, next one will be about Marvel pushing pro-ISIS brainwashing with Miss Marvel

Or because the jobs they have the qualifications for pay for shit.

What if I don't have the capital to afford to be able to search for a new job?

What if the industry I work in is rendered obsolete by new technology?

What if I have familial commitments which means I cannot physically relocate?
