1. Eyes Wide Shut
2. 2001: Space odyssey
3. The Tree of Life
4. Rear Window
5. Apocalypse Now

What do you think of the Cube sequels?

Move aside, here comes a film patrician.

> The Place Beyond the Pines
> Chinatown
> Apocalypse Now
> Knight of Cups
> The Master

Actually, switch PBTP with Eyes Wide Shut. That's my list.

somewhat pleb by Sup Forums standards but solid for sure

1/5 for rear window, otherwise predictable as shit

1. Evil Dead 2

2. Excalibur

4. O Brother Where Art Thou

5. Batman v Superman

1. The Man Who Would Be King

1. The Matrix
2. Tekkinkinkreet
3. Alien
4. Master & Commander
5. Lost in Translation

I've seen a bunch of supposed patrician shit like F for Fake and 8 1/2, nothing will beat the first time I watched those.

I just literally can't enjoy movies as much as I used to

patrician

you're the type of guy who buys a rick and morty shirt to wear in private

1

What a bunch of fucking armpit-scratching amerifags in this thread

maybe Rope up there instead of BvS

>5. The Shawshank Redemption
Basic bitch.

shawshank is a good movie, but it's widely loved by plebs, so people who don't want to be plebs pretend its not good

>Knight of Cups

Honest to god, what in the hell did you see in that flick?

Heh thanks. I just really love these films. I also enjoy soft Zulu, El Cid, Ben-Hur, The Ten Commandments, The French Connection, Heat, Barry Lyndon, The Duelists, Alien, Waterloo, Dog Day Afternoon, Assault on Precinct 13, Army of Shadows, The Battle of Algiers, Vertigo, North by Northwest, Rear Window, Charade, The Lion in Winter, 1982's Alone in the Dark, and so many others.

There's something missing in post-2000 films compared to the stuff from the 1960's to 1990's. I can't put my finger on it, but there's an aesthetic quality that seems to be lacking.

Had he said Cool Hand Luke... which is a much better movie.

Hell, Papillion was a better movie.

I also enjoy soft Zulu if you catch my drift

>meme movies
Explain why any of the movies I picked are memes. They are all expertly crafted in their own right you fucking faggot cunt. God help you if you're ever in my vicinity.

I like the way Knight of Cups makes me feel. The cinematography and score are amazing and I have a soft spot for any film that's set in California (say what you will about the culture, but the landscapes here are phenomenal).

i agree

Stranger Than Paradise
Faust (the '94 Svankmajer one)
Lost Highway
A Flame at the Pier
Withnail and I

Hypercube was bigger, broader, more noisy, less subtle but still good and out there. Cube zero... didn't care for that one too much.

>God help you if you're ever in my vicinity.

it's fine to like movies, user. i'm glad you like knight of cups. and the movies are great for sure. chinatown and apocalypse now are memes for the same reason 2001, vertigo, and citizen kane are: they're just obviously very good movies, and they're talked about nonstop. best of lists, etc.

the master is a meme because every single teenage cinephile will get down on his knees for PTA. it doesn't really say much about your personal taste.

the place beyond the pines isn't really a meme, sorry. it's a nice movie.

basically what i am saying is your top 5 are obviously good movies, but it seems like you haven't done much exploring- not to mention, they're all american movies. again, it's fine to like movies, but don't label yourself a "film patrician" if you're going to be like that.

Cure
News From Home
The Terrorizers
The Seventh Continent
Celine and Julie Go Boating

>posts Knight of Cups, a sloppy drivel soup
why don't you try expanding on that instead of just spouting buzzwords like a stupid child, although it's clear KoC went way above your head.
nice, you like others from the Iranian new waves?
also what do you think about minimalism in film?

1. Withnail and I
2. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
3. Cruising
4. The Tenant
5. The Rover

some nicely odd choices, i don't get how hellraiser could be someones favourite film though, it's great, but too campy and dated to be taken seriously...

you are a bit weird but people like you even if you get the feeling that they don't

stoner

kinosseur. Network alone makes you a patrician. you're still looking for your place in this world
