Holy fuck that art didn't age well

It's still going too, I check in now and then to see if it's dead but it's not. Miho's been having a conversation in a hospital for like 3 years now and just started fighting the leet-ninja.

I remember Applegeeks dying off quickly, once the author/artist realized there was really no point or story they were trying to do.

Does anybody read Erin Dies Alone? Don't give a shit about their other comic but depressed shut-in Erin does things for me

It really wasn't that good from the get-go. It got a pass at first because most webcomics start out bad, but Megatokyo actually got worse.

Speaking of which, remember when VG Cats was both popular and relevant? Scott really screwed up on that one, if he updated more he'd probably still be fairly big.

Does anyone else remember Dominic Deegan?

>Scott "please stop sending porn of my dead cat" Ramsoomair

JAB
Don't know what ever happened to the people that made it they just poofed, art was pretty bad but it was acceptably funny and showed improvement as it went on.
I.Rev was definitely their best one in my opinion though.
RIP Best Lich

People had way lower standards for web-published stuff back in the day.

>this will never be finished
>this will never even be continued

Fuck this gay earth.

Mines Bigger. Anyone remember this?

Lots of people remember Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo

So what happened with Dominic Deegan anyway?
Besides power levels and orc rape-for-her-own-good?

Anywho, I remember RPGworld... but I feel like there was another in a similar vein that had about 1000 comics before the story ended
Or maybe RPGworld was the one with an actual end, I can't remember

>So what happened with Dominic Deegan anyway?

It ended

I still have some buttons of Tequila, Stacc, and that basketball

The finale revolved around the King, who had never been explored before and was democratically elected, trying to hijack the source of all magic so he could keep his kingdom magical. There was a lot of talking and then the king just kind of died. Then Deegan told Doormat he loved her and the series ended.

>Socketfuck socketfuck it's awwwwwwwwwwwright

ONE OF US
ONE OF US
ONE OF US

Did Goblins ever come back? Last I remember there was some huge thing with the author and he had some kind of breakdown or something

I was reading that at the same time as Ansem Retort.
Zexion is still the best character.

When I was an edgy teen, I used to read an edgy semi-furry webcomic called Inhuman. I occasionally check back to see if it's still running. It is. It's one of the oldest webcomics I know that's still running, and it's one I never, ever heard anyone else talk about.

Am I the only one who has ever read it?

Looking for Mega Man Legends pics->Bob and George comics->Bob and George recommend comics page->more webcomics->webcomic forums->greater internet community overall->stuck here forever.

And all because I wanted some cool pics of Mega Man Legends. If only I could warn myself all those years ago in high school.

Bob and George was a gateway webcomic of the worst kind

9th Elsewhere. Don't bother looking it up; it was deleted from the internet a long time ago. I just like the casual exploratory mindscape concepts, and it seemed like it was going somewhere with that.

>Does anyone else remember Dominic Deegan?
I do. I felt that it didn't have much of a plot to begin with and went downhill from there.

"I have Knight Vision" was the only memorable part of that comic.

Can someone post the chart of recommended webcomics?

Did they ever get their books?

Funny.

I've read that once. I don't remember much, except it was edgy as fuck.

This comic's untimely demise still pains me. The author dumped it right in the middle of a conversation between characters, and then ran off to do a lousy jokey comic strip where there's these monsters, see, and they work in a dungeon, like it's an office or something, lel! Like Dilbert but with goblins!
It's sometimes a decent chuckle, but as far as depth it's just about paper thin.

It just sucks that we get that instead of more dark Lovecraftian fantasy.

>I don't remember much, except it was edgy as fuck.

I remember that and the bat lady. Some alien designs were pretty good, but the bat lady looked the coolest.

If not dead, then on poor life support.

Anyone remember pawn?

Oh I remember RPGworld. I remember really enjoying it and feeling bad that it just kinda stopped. Never got a proper ending.

Blip was one I liked.

Sage Leaves just kinda vanished

It's always been extremely slow though

The April Fools comic should have been the end. It was perfect.

The Lounge was the first comic I got way to into, shipping wise. In retrospect it's embarrassing, but thinking about that comic still hurts.

it's still going

Fred can draw, just cant do people.

Has a tournament arc. Big reveal when the game's creator saved all the deleted characters for a secret mission to save the game. Start things to remove the big bad that has hijacked the virtual world of the game. Then she just stops making the comic almost a year ago.

and then we have Applegeeks.

Which has just been dead for years, and I don't know why he didn't finish.

I like this spoopy.

Zone-tan?

I remember this one webcomic from years ago. It was about a divorced mad scientist, with a lobster claw for a hand, dealing with life. And she had a blonde mechanic for an assistant, and her husband was a superhero and I think she made a giant robot at someone. Does anyone remember it at all or was just a fever dream of mine?

Eve was a qt robot girl when those were still a semi-novel concept, but I think they figured out quick that that's all they had going.

I remember that comic. It's the only webcomic author Charles Stross reads, apparently. But Stross is a cunt, and I thought the comic was too edgy. The blond mechanic had an annoying comic-Russian accent, and was mostly there to provide some tits.

But yeah, that was a real comic. I recall something about her breaking into a floating city with mythological beings on it. It really got up its own ass about having a villain MC.

He's actually been updating on a semi-consistent weekly basis for what, a year now? That's practically breakneck compared to the 1-2 quarterly comics he did for like half a decade. Still, the story is completely incomprehensible to anyone but Fred. He needs to sit down, hash out some fucking Bibles and then hire people to actually finish this shit. It's been damn near 20 years and they've been 'stuck in Tokyo' for what, two weeks? A month?

>sprite comics
Muh dick.
In middle school the only thing I read was sprite comics.
I can't believe DrShnaps has been dead for four years. I used to have an archive of all their comics but it got lost in an HDD wipe. And Google doesn't have anything leftover.

Do you recall the name by any chance? Because I kinda want to reread it, even though I remember dropping it because of how the MC was portrayed

Twokinds is still alive?!

I still don't get what the hell is supposed to be happening in that comic, something about Piro and Miho having been RPers or gamed together or some shit, but she's irl sick? This seems like a story that could have been told in 20 pages by someone who knew what they were doing.

Ugly Hill

>He needs to sit down, hash out some fucking Bibles

Never. The sun will burn out first.

Not a clue. I read it years ago.

Jesus, MT will be old enough to drink before long and it still won't be going anywhere.

Did anybody ever read 'Zap', I wonder? Don't remember how I ran across it originally, but I slogged through it and was impressed by the degree to which the art changed over time.

yes

I was thinking of doing a storytime of pain for chapter 1 and the prologue but I was afraid of getting banned

at least the cheesecake tom draws is decent

Thanks anyway, man. At least I know it wasn't a hallucination now.

They got actual jobs I think. The artist is really good and when I saw he was doing shit for DC I didn't realize it til I saw his name. The writer had always been working on stuff.

It's still going

That and the rapist Orc being forgiven.

>exterminatus now
Hadn't read it in years, checked and it's dead nearly a year now. I think whoever worked on it may have been wrapped up in the psyguy scandal...

Tried reading it one time. People said it was good, and the recent art didn't look bad.

I was not prepared for those early pages. I respect the artist, though. That guy taught himself to draw by doing that comic. I can't say anything bad about that. But I never did read it.

>Read Chaos Diamonds 3 by psyguy as a teenager.
>Thought it was awesome although i never read it to the end.
>Finally finished reading it a couple months back when it was posted here

Ghastly's Ghastly Comic
m e e k e r z

>Spend most of high school looking for a good porn webcomic
>EGS has nothing
>The Lounge barely has anything
>Sexylosers had nothing good
>That comic about the orange chick and the Moogle had nothing
>That comic about the incest siblings had nothing
>Ghastly's was horrible to look at

All I found was this pencil sketch comic about chibis. I can't even remember it's name now but I was desperate goddammit!

It's interesting to me because it starts out like badly written, poorly drawn cliche tripe, but as the quality improves the artist sticks with it and makes it work rather than retconning or ignoring the early stuff.
Plus, xeno waifus like Naveed and Kasey the Stickle.

Dom's parents flew in to fight the king using previously untapped magics and the sword of centuries, while Dominic went on an acid trip to fight the tentacle monster in another dimension. The goodguys won both encounters. Some unimportant characters were killed for drama along the way, and Dom got his broken powers taken away. Thee end.

1. archive.org, nigger
2. ddrescue saves whole HDDs. Learn it.

We have a furry board now. Yeah, haha. Actually look, though.

Thanks for the info, prick. It's like looking through a time portal.

I think the artist is a woman.

They had search engines back in the 90s. I remember telling my high school librarian that google was gonna take over, and she should add it to her list of online resources next to askjeeves and yahoo. If you read Ghastly, you knew the word hentai. You had no excuse.

I would share the madness of "The Best of What's Left" and "The Xcentrics" but those shit comics vanished entirely off the internet.

>Ghastly's was horrible to look at

Ghastly also became crazy and is now an aged trap.

I think it's interesting as a showcase of the artist's change, but I don't think I'll ever seriously read it.

...

>became
>trap
Diagnosed and 'flexible' in his own words, respectively. He was clearly never quite well. His breakdown was before tumblr existed though, so he basically gets to tell all the fags these days to fuck off as he pleases.

It appears to finally be taking shape as "Anime is real" as in every single kind of anime cliche/trope exists in Japan but everyone tries to hide it badly. Largo gets it because he's too stupid/insane to care, while everyone else tries to keep Piro and Kimiko in the fucking dark about it, when just telling them would have let the plot resolve almost immediately. That's the point, but Gallagher also believes everyone cares about all the intricate little worlds he's spawned out of that environment and wants to spend all his time talking about it than just getting the fuck on with the story. Jesus Christ, he's still trying to make a VN and acts as if he's the first western creator to entertain the idea even though we live in a time where everyone and their dog can churn out a VN/RPG in a week, and he's still already almost 3 years late delivering it. KS was conceptualized, rejiggerd like a million fucking times, created and released whole in the time it took him to even sack up enough to commit to actually making one.

I hope that peaceful Crack lasts for a while, the poor bear deserves it. I mean, jesus christ, that was one hell of a backstory, no wonder he is so paranoid of everything.

Also, for those that are fans of this, can you post the vote incentives? I lost all the ones I had, especially the DOTA ones she made of each bear.

He was also completely honest in his breakdown and coming out, and made sure his family was taken care of before he let himself completely off the chain. Ghastly's fucking nuts but he's at least cool about it. I still find 'Uncle Ghastly' funnier than Lola Internet or whatever, but hey, he's happy.

>while everyone else tries to keep Piro and Kimiko in the fucking dark about it
So they're stuck in a cliche love triangle with Miho? Or she's just sorta there? I gave up trying to follow side-characters when foxgirls started showing up.
even though I like foxgirls

I wish Eric would update/relaunch Electric Retard 2bh...

I didn't want hentai you little shit, I wanted a webcomic written and drawn by someone in this continent.

>Haven't thought of this garbage since high school
>this is somehow still a thing

HOOOOOOOOOOOW

Who the fuck is still reading this junk?
How the fuck does it still look like garbage?

Say what you want about bald and piglike's work, his art has at least gotten objectively better.

Aren't they doing a visual novel of Megatokyo?

With explicit sex? And not furry? What's the point of that? Hentai was so much better, at the time.

>ghostartist

Actually, they run a media empire based on their comics, spanning many other comics, gaming conventions, etc. PAX is quickly replacing E3 as the place to be to know about gayman.

>Aren't they doing a visual novel of Megatokyo?
Yes.

Nothing is happening with it.

Seriously. The last update was just to say that nothing was currently happening with the project, and that was months ago. I supported the Kickstarter as one of the beta testers.

Everyone I've met who only drew anime has a style like Pyro's. It's a fucking creative cul-de-sac.

I re-read my post and realized it seems like my confusion is aimed at Penny Arcade.

It's at Megatokyo. I don't know how that's something that still exists.

What?
No, some people on tumblr used to spread rumors that PA had a ghost artist.

>I don't know how that's something that still exists.
He's just never deleted the website. It doesn't need anything else to continue existing.

I'm not sure that it's updating all that frequently. I've certainly not seen any new Megatokyo volumes out anywhere, just the same five old volumes.

Remember this crazy tranny Tumbl comic? Before "crazy tranny" or "Tumbl" were a thing?

He streams drawing it. Used to be on justin.tv. Dunno about now. Maybe vaughnlive.

Is that Stu Pickles?

He apparently encountered Pino and dipped her in cotton candy mix to act out his Adventure Time fanfics.

>stu and princess bbg crossover
Eh.

pasteldefender.com/058.html
>Jennifer Diane Reitz
the lady behind the conversion bureau ?

I vaguely remember a shitty webcomic about furries called Lizard. It was weird but generally light-hearted, then towards the end of the comic they all got Final Solution'd by big bad humans. Dunno what kind of psychosis the artist went through.

Remember Book of Biff?

Dominic Deegan is a so bad its entertaining webcomic.

She's in 'just sort of there' territory at the moment. Her actual role is probably about to end up as pseudo-antagonist. While I said the point of the world is 'anime is real' I think the actual theme he's trying to aim for is "perception." Every major character in the comic is defined by how they perceive themselves and the world around them VS. how the world perceives them and that the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Piro and Kimiko are the baseline as they're the most 'normal' as in their aspirations and insecurities are most like normal people, while everyone else (save Largo) has something to hide or wants to be something they aren't and it's all weird bullshit. Miho is the extreme as she is apparently utterly defined by how others perceive her and control her life, and living 'for herself' is a literal recipe for disaster. Largo is the other extreme; he's a walking representation of that Ronald McDonald 'This book's normal and not weird' meme. His perception of the world is so twisted (not in the tryhard twisted fucking psychopath way but the actual definition of the word) that he takes everything at face value and finds it all routine like some kind of fucking savant. It's why Erika 'inexplicably' likes him so much after first meeting him even though Piro thinks he's an embarrassment. He's so utterly unfazed by everything that she can actually be herself around him. It'll all end in a ridiculously roundabout way of saying everyone needs to take the collective stick out of their asses and open up a little. It's just it took me until sometime last year to get a handle on this shit and that's fucking absurd for a near 20 year old comic.

tl;dr no

Nah, the latest page took a while. (2 weeks between 5/12 and 4/27. Before that was 4/16. 4/6. 3/11. 3/4. 2/25. 2/15. 2/6. 1/26. 1/15. 1/7. 12/28. 12/18. 12/13. Aaaand that big gap till 1/4/15.

So, 15 in 5 months, or 3 per month, or 1 per 10 days. Not too shabby for him, I suppose.
