but Brazil has recently entered the stage

>Does your country have animated or anime films?
it doesn't TT―TT

don't you feel pride on brazil's behalf

isn't there some kind of pan-latin-american identity

or not really

I never knew the existence if this movie until I saw this post. I don't know why it hasn't been advertised over here. I guess we prefer to suck Hollywood's dick instead of giving value to our own productions, even if they are shitty ones.

>even if they are shitty ones.
it's a very nice movie

(if you like art films I guess)
no dialogue, except for reverse Portuguese in one scene

it's similar to ghibli films
there will be a sequel - or at least another film from this studio, I don't know if it's a sequel

I will add it to backlog to watch it later.
Recently I watched a short japanese OVA called Junk Town which is similar to what you just described in the sense it had little to no dialogue. You might also like it.

...

Not really, unless you count Wallace and Gromit/Aardman as animation. Watership Down and the Plague Dogs were pretty good.

Yes.

>unless you count Wallace and Gromit/Aardman as animation
Stop montion is still animation, OP didn't say anything about 2D animation only. There is also Chicken Run made by the british.

i think most of our childrens cartoons were animated in sweden, but i dont think that is the case anymore

Chicken Run was okay but Shaun the Sheep is the real kino.

Korean-Mexican-Colombian

Never seen it, I'm also gonna add it to my backlog.

Which country has better animation?

Which country has better video games?

...

Indian-Mexican

American back in the day, Japan overtook you for a while then America came back strong with the CGI animation. As for videogames you're both tied imo. Britain is third.

i used to read these.Pure kino. Apprently they also got animated by italians

>Which country has better animation?
Japan
>Which country has better video games?
Japan
:v

Japan for Animations. Mixed bag for video games. What happened to your animation industry? Why dont you make stuff like Heavy Metal anymore?

japan for animation, US for videogames
I'm neither a fan or connoisseur of both and I think videogames are for manchildren and boring people

>anime films
yes en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Squad

This looks pretty cool

most American TV animation is actually outsourced to other countries like South Korea

a lot of Japanese animation is heading to Korea currently too

good taste

It used to be to Japan back in the 70s/80s. like Thundercats and Transformers. You could always tell Jap animation by how they drew lasers.

>a lot of Japanese animation is heading to Korea currently too
not true

The UK has strong visual effect studios, like Double Negative and Framestore. That's where our talent currently lies.

mainly during communism i guess, but they are still very known.
the characters from 2000s are from TV animations for adults, i personally don't like this type of "comedy", but it's always been pretty popular here among teenagers and shit

>animation
Used to be neck and neck but now american animantion is mostly trash. Same will Japanese animation but they make good stuff still just due to the sheer volume.
>video games
japan. madden, cowadooty 19 and edgy tumblr games is all american gaming is now

>France
example of animated movies out of france?

why are these the only two countries really into the anime / vidya market

what's the deal europe

youtube.com/watch?v=gTguFU-iTj8

Song Of the Sea
Secret of the Kells
The Red Turtle (Japan/France)
My Life as a Zucchini

these are all french animated films

but french animation still doesn't come close to American / Japanese

>The UK has strong visual effect studios, like Double Negative and Framestore. That's where our talent currently lies.
that's cool, the talent is clearly there, but why is there no interest in animation in UK

>Which country has better animation?
Japan for 2D, USA for CGI and Stop Motion
>Which country has better video games?
Neck and neck in quality, but I like American games better.

We have tried for decades, but no matter how hard we try we end up using stupid national "jokes" and "humour".

Let's say Huevo Cartoon, El Chavo, Mucha Lucha.

And many failed movies I won't bother on mentioning.

Our problem is that we think Mexican animation is meant to animate mexican things. Fortunately this is slowly starting to change.

Still, we are bad at it.

I would add the Dofus series, and Ernest & Celestine.

French cinematography and animation have more variation, I would say French standards are the minimum any country should be aiming for.

We had a lot of animation here in Soviet times, I guess we was the third after USA and Japan. And we have it now, but much less and quality was damaged as well.

Damn, this is pretty good

what happened to soviet animation?
Simply lack of funding? Talent leaving the soviet union?

In Soviet Union it was sponsored by the state. So it was fucked when USSR collapsed. And also animated films are very expensive and people didn't have money in our 90s.
But now in each year we got some full-length animated movies and we have a lot serials for kids. But the quality leaves much to be desired. Not only the quality of the graphics, but also extremely mediocre scenarios.
For example, this show is very popular and not only in Russia

this video has more than 2 billions views now

>Ireland
>YES
Thank God, something to be proud of for once.
Cartoon Saloon has been getting some recognition ever since Secret of Kells.

Hey. What's the story? Secret of Kells and Song of The Sea are ours.
Aren't they?
hmmm

Apparently it's both

I am okay with.

considering the movie is about Irish culture, I should have assumed Ireland was involved desu

It looks like a whole bunch of European companies are involved actually

There's also this guy called Robert Morgan who makes creepy animated shorts.
And the guy who made Rubber Johnny and these Aphex Twin videos.
Granted it's kinda underground.

wtf lmao
Why does this have so many views

kids around the world watch this shit over and over again

>he hasn't watched Masha and The Bear at least a billion times
What a faggot

Shaun the Sheep got a movie? Holy shit!

holy shit that has high ratings

guess I'll watch shaun the sheep then

it gets exported everywhere
i'm pretty sure they started airing that show here too

>it gets exported everywhere
bump

>bump
this desu

garbage movie tbqh
