Capeshit is dumb

>capeshit is dumb
>Americans are dumb
>read my shitty fishrape comic

Grant pls

It's true

I know, I was just b8ing.

First two are true, though.
I mean, I like capeshit, but I'm aware that it's completely brainless.

First 2 are true...a bit hurt but he's right. A big Nah for 3 though, his fish rape comic is fucking shit.

>leave my shit alone
>read about harry potter being a psychotic antichrist who kills people by jerking off and cumming lightning

ITT OP wants to die from cancer

Never understood why so many people suck his pretentious flacid cock. V for Vendetta was better than expected, Watchmen was good, but everything else was okay or really overrated. Of all the "high tier" writers, he surely is the weakest.

Those 2 aren't even his best works tho. His swamp thing marvelman and supreme alone eclipse his more widely recognized work.

>fishrape
This alone makes up for alllll of that shit

>>capeshit is dumb
True.
>>Americans are dumb
Truer.
>>read my shitty fishrape comic
It was OK. Sup Forums's butthurt makes it more enjoyable, even.

Don't forget Halo Jones, the thrilling far future tale of two girls that go shopping and then one of them gets a job as a waitress

Sure thing, OP

He's not wrong, you know

Halo Jones is an excellent comic though.

to be fair not all Americans are dumb just the ones who read capeshit

I think it would be more accurate if it was "not all Americans are dumb just the ones who read comics as a source of literature."

> it will never be finished

Did I say it wasn't?

I feel like Watchmen gets a lot of positive attention for being a deconstruction of super-hero comics mixed with a lot of philosophizing.

But I never cared about superhero comics so to me the deconstruction was meaningless, which meant it had to stand on its own, which meant I found a lot of it overblown and pompous.

Also catching bullets is impossible.

That's what makes it beautiful

> pretentious

In what way is Moore pretentious? Grant Morrison is the pretentious one

Why are you bringing Morrison into this? He's nothing like Moore.

>not all Americans are dumb
Except those who vote for Trump, that is.

>I never cared about superhero comics

No those guys are gullible, there's a difference.

The post was about " high tier writers"

But capefags are gullible too.

He acts like he is the only writer worth a shit in all history of comics, and only hi works can be seen as mature.

>But I never cared about superhero comics so to me the deconstruction was meaningless, which meant it had to stand on its own, which meant I found a lot of it overblown and pompous.

Hmh. I was reading a Darwyn Cooke from several years ago and he basically said the same thing, although he used Grant Morrison as his example. What Cooke basically said was that comics were becoming a boutique concern, because the most highly-touted works (such as those of Morrison) are so self-referential and demand from the reader an extensive familiarity with the history and tropes of superheroes so as to be absolutely impenetrable to the casual audience that the publishers need to revive the comics industry.

>Darwyn Cooke
That Before Watchmen hack?

I meant, "I was reading a Darwyn Cooke interview"

Well sure they can be both but Trump supporters are mostly credulous fools and capefags are mostly semi-literate mouth breathers

>This is the same guy who wrote a scene of a female FBI agent giving a handjob to a fishman, with the fishman making goofy sounds as she does so

I really hope what people say that he wrote Neonomicon mostly because he needed money at the time.

Yeah, he wrote one of the "Before Watchmen" miniseries (not his best moment, to be polite about it).

I don't think that disqualifies his opinion, though. It just means he'll take a good-paying comics job, like 99% of the industry's freelancers.

It's kind of annoying because outside of the fish rape it's a pretty solid book but you can't just skip over the fish rape because it's essential to the plot.
It's like he's testing us to find out home much bullshit we are willing to take

>He acts like he is the only writer worth a shit in all history of comics

No he doesn't. He praises plenty of people in the industry like Gaiman, Ellis, Ennis, Wein, Jaime Hernandes, Scott McCloud, Sam Keith, Mike Allred, etc.

It is pretty clear his fans will accept anything. That was on the same level as Unfunnies but it was alright because Moore can do no wrong.

>TRIGGERED AMERICANS.jpg

>I don't think that disqualifies his opinion
It does; you cannot criticize the industry while doing hack jobs for it.

>you cannot criticize the industry while doing hack jobs for it

Sure you can. As long as you will admit you're doing a job for a paycheck, but Cooke claimed he had some artistic goal in Before Watchman and THAT was crap

>Cooke claimed he had some artistic goal in Before Watchman and THAT was crap
See? What a faggot. No wonder he got cancer.

It gets attention as a deconstruction by people who don't read comics

Watchmen is a triumph of the comic book form, independent of its relationship to other stories

I personally thought the comic was okay in matter of plot, but the handjob scene was much dumber than the gang-rape that Brears suffers. Burrows' art made that even sillier than it supposed to be.

And Moore stated he wrote Neonomicon because he needed a paycheck at the time.

Eh it's all-right. A lot of it is pure unrealistic fantasy, which I'd be fine with if it didn't take itself so seriously.

>I'm doing it for the money so i can just write porn sequences with fish rape instead of actual plot!
Moorefags are the worst

It's OK, user. Stick to capeshit and you won't suffer anymore.

>you cannot criticize the industry while doing hack jobs for it.

Of course you can. It's practically a comics industry tradition. Kirby, Ditko, Claremont, Byrne, Miller, Hama, Moore, etc. all talked shit at one point or another about the industry, whilst still doing work for the same companies that they were criticizing. If anything, their criticisms might be more valid in a certain sense than those that come from those artists and writers who've never worked for "corporate comics," since their opinions are tempered by actual experience and a sense of real-world pragmatism.

I do agree that Cooke's comments come off as disingenuous in light of his Before Watchmen work, but as I remember it, he made those comments years before he worked on the project. And as I previously mentioned, all it proves is that he'll take a paying job like any sensible contractor.

In short, they pretended to be rebels while still doing what the industry told them to. Man, I'm so glad I pirate their books.

>Implying i read capeshit
Unless you count Hellboy as cape.

The art, user

You can complain about an industry while still working in the industry

Fishrape is about the only weirdo thing that isn't in Hellboy. I'm surprised Abe Sapien didn't get a cameo in Neonomicon.

Into frogs, huh?

>I never cared about superhero comics

>Stick to capeshit

user do you have brain problems?

If you want to paint them as rebels to make their failings more poignant to you, go right ahead.

Yeah, but the best thing is doing it under a nickname; otherwise the boss might get angry and fire you.

No, I don't use fedoras. They rot your brain.

Moore doesn't get credit for that.

He was heavily involved with the plotting

It wasn't like today, where a writer does a script and emails it off to the artist who emails it off to the colorist

>Abe and Liz porn
My brain says no but my boner says yes

Stop.

Reading comprehension problems perhaps? Maybe Dyslexia?

Come on, let's be friends. Have a gift.

He's not wrong.

Could be a Dark Souls enemy

Is Promethea any good?

No

...

You've got it backwards user. It takes more balls to criticize an industry while you're working in it than to lob criticisms at an industry while standing in relative safety from the outside.

>It's Man-Thing that gets a ride with Moore instead Swamp Thing

Brilliant

Meant to reply to

Why is Man-Thing so kawaii

He is British.
I guess that's what happens when you are the remnants of a fallen empire, you have that superiority complex and can't accept that you are the past.

They are always butthurt and complaining.

>muh Empire
>Britannia rules the waves!
>please we are still relevant!
