It's a reboot and it's a female-oriented film. Bridesmaids was half the budget and was a risky film just because it's a brand new genre of film along with movies like trainwreck with Amy Schumer. The raunchy female films are a pretty new thing and they've all been fairly low budget thusfar, but have been making relatively decent progress. Jumping from a budget of $32mil like in Bridesmaids to $150mil was an incredibly risky move just because it's a reboot. They should've just done a spoof for like $40mil.
