Darkwing Duck 25th Anniversary General Disscussion Thread

So seeing as how I storytimed the first issue of the new series, as well as other anons storytiming other DW comics, how about we have a general discussion thread?

What are you thoughts on the show, the comics, the new comic, and etc?

Furthermore, what are your thought about the new comic bringing in obscure yet popular characters from places like the Disney Adventure/Afternoon comics?

Like say... Fluffy?

Huh. Kind of thought this would be a topic of interest.

>Fluffy
I do not have a reaction image that can properly convey my excitement.

Killed brutally before its time.

Not as bad as what happened to Rescue Rangers though holy shit we didn't even get a Nimnul arc.

Anybody tell CR they remembered his waifu?

Considering I bought the original Darkwing run, everything but the Ducktales half of the shitty last arc, and have most of it signed (some of them even signed by *gasp* Ian Brill), I don't think I can properly describe my level of excitement.

As I said in one of the previous threads, I got my Omnibus signed by Sparrow, Silviani, and Darkwing creator Tad Stones at Comic Con last year and I can't wait to get the new +1 signed this year.

They remembered MY waifu.

Also Camille Chameleon, but they'd already used her.

Honestly I wasn't expecting them to remember her, but lo and behold, there she was.

Glad someone else has an appreciation for this particular villain.

You know, it's kind of a shame Darkwing never had his "Catwoman" so to speak. Yes, he's got Morgana, but she turned to the side of good real quick like.

I could absolutely see Darkwing enjoying the ego-stroke of a back-and-forth flirtation fight.

I totally agree with you, but on the other hand I think Morgana kind of works because her character drags Darkwing out of his ego-hole.

Time to play: "Spot the villain that may or may not make an appearance in the first arc"!

Man Tuskernini never got much of a showing in this did he?

Why is Fluffy being worth excited for again?

He was the best villain from the DA comics, and the only recurring one.

Hey, Isis is in the background there, too.

I'm still holding out for a "Darkwing Duck Outwits The Phantom Blot" arc (or maybe an inverse of that title) that doesn't fucking waste him like they did in that DuckTales crossover.

He's one of the few big name villains who could really give D.W a serious run for his money, without being Negaduck.

They have to bring in the Blot eventually. His teaser at the end of the Mayor Campaign arc was still in the omnibus rewrite.

You can't have a Blot arc without Micky Mouse, though.

You know what I'm a little bummed about? In the first arc we see Scrooge with an older Huey, Dewie and Louie in suits. When we see them again they're in their old gear. I'd kind of have loved to see the boys doing stuff for McDuck's company.

The Blot's menaced other Disney comic protagonists like Super-Goof and Uncle $crooge before without any help from Mickey. He's even had his own solo comic at one point.

Has Mickey ever hung out with Scrooge and Donald's family in the comics?

Yeah, that's the hard part. Disney probably wouldn't let them do a Darkwing/Mickey team up so you would need to come up with a reason for Mickey to not be there.

Mickey is too busy signing autographs for children at Disneyland. Darkwing wearing an ear hat is his stand in.

IDW just printed a Christmas comic last year that had all of them together.

wonder if they might do a sequel to that Legend of The Chaos God crossover they did back in Disney Adventure

I wonder if they'll bring Quackerjack back?

I mean if it runs long enough they'll definitely do it right?

I'd be more curious as to how, rather than when.

I storytimed the annual, I'm willing to storytime more if there's demand

Story Tiiiiime!

Please do so.

Yeah, but Sparrow expressed an interest in doing a Darkwing/Mickey team-up

As long as I can storytime the new book, it's fine by me.

Btw this is the user that storytimed the first issue of the new series. Just thought it was time I used a name for these things.

I'll add a trip too, what should I storytime? Old DW?

Sounds like a good idea.

I'll storytime the first issue whenever I wake up, probably around noon EST

I'm pretty happy that even though it's been 25 years, i could still read every character in their voice because of how they were written. the super arrogant 'yhup yhup yhup' on page seven particularly is something that i hadn't thought about for decades but came back instantly when I read it.

Might have to watch a lot of cartoons this weekend for nostalgia's sake. :p
