Absolutely not.

All tourism is the work of the devil, you need to be invited by an ethnic Bulgarian.

Knew a guy who was working with an NGO/aid organisation in Bulgaria and got bitten by a stray dog.

He doesn't like talking about it.

This is funnier than it has any right to be.

It's a shithole, I know because I've been there once. I don't intend to ever go there again. It's full of poor eastern european people, tourist traps and cheap shitty food.

Yes, good weather and cheap. Some interesting monuments. Stray dogs really were a problem several years ago. I'm not sure if they still are.

My friend's family traveled europe when he was a kid. He said that while he was in bulgaria his brother got bit by a stray dog and became very sick. They had to fly home early because of this.

I dont get it
Are you guys serious about the dogs?

My friend who was in the Bulgarian special forces claims that it's run by the mob, and the last thing he would want to do is go back there.

They went to his house here in the states, and told him he was drafted because he was still a Bulgarian citizen.

It doesn't sound fun.

Yes it has a little bit of everything.
Ski, cheep reports for the summer sex tourism good small villages in the mountain for a comfy time. Sorry big summer resorts for degeneracy.

Yep. Best ski in EstEurope-Bansko. Also impressive quality and cheap prices for the seaside-Burgas. Also some good thermal resorts-Banya, Sandanski.
Romanians and albanians ruin it a bit though..

>making fun of a country for making strong doors

The stray dogs are a problem especially in Romania and Bulgaria, I remember a gang of those chasing our car in the city ready to fuck it up really bad and the police was only laughing at us

My dad is from there and I can get citizenship by descent. I plan on doing that and moving to France or something. I don't want to live in Bulgaria because it's poor and full of gyspy scum, commieblocks, and a lot of drunken slavs who listen to godawful chalga music. Sofia however has a lot of neat churches and it's a relatively decent cheap place to live. Other than that the towns are mostly poor and depressing. Cost of living is low and food is good, but it's hard to find work I'm pretty sure.

I know France has a fuck ton of Arabs and Blacks but I'm pretty sure they're largely confined to the ghettos and Paris so I'd just move to a mid sized city like Saint-Étienne. Don't get me wrong I like Bulgaria, know a little bit of the language, and would visit again and it's my heritage so I'll always appreciate the country, but I really wouldn't want to live there long term. There's a reason their population is shrinking.

>pot calling the kettle black

Bulgaria and Romania are two sides of the same coin. 9% gypsy population, similar GDP, corruption, embezzlement, nepotism, potholes, emigration, manele, mărțișor, sarma, 80s bmw's. Well, Romania is a bit superior judging that we have higher GDP/capita even if we don't have as much tourism as them.

I had an encounter with a pack of stray dogs in Lwów, too. I wanted to see the High Castle and they were around the hill (it was in 2010). Before Euro 2012 their government started some campaign against those dogs and many "treehuggers" protested.

Mind that I was there in 2007, so many things may look different today. I would definitely visit again. They have some interesting Orthodox/Bysantine-like monuments and everything was quite cheap. On the other hand, I was there with some friends, so I my be positively biased.

>Bysantine
Byzantine*

The gypsies in Bulgaria are also confined to ghettos and they are currently moving out of Bulgaria because of the lack of social system that they can exploit. That's one of the reasons for the shrinking population. Unlike France and the US, Bulgaria doesn't get arab, african and latino immigrants.

I have a friend on steam from Bulgaria, his name is Nico.

Really nice guy.

and what about beggars?

depends what you want. there's nice ski resort, but otherwise no

No wonder why every new house/apartment is made with door sized windows and cheap materials

I love commieblocks, where should I go for a dystopian atmosphere? I have heard about Pernik and looked it up on google maps, looks great.

me and friend were chased by dogs almost every morning going school so I bought a taser and my friend got a bat. we pretty much got rid of the problem in our neighbourhood singlehandedly. it was pretty fun

pernik and sofia have a lot of commieblocks. there's whole neighbourhoods in sofia entirely made up of commieblocks

After watching Hostel I'm certainly not going on vacation on anything east of Germoney

commieblocks are getting a makeover tho

>it's hard to find work I'm pretty sure.
it's easy if you have either connections or money, that's how most things happen here.

I'd recommend Bucharest, Iași and Galați here, but basically every Moldavian and southern city is a cluster of commieblocks.

Depends where you are going and what you are doing.

Your friend sounds like a faggot and a traitor.

Bulgaria is run by American puppets and that is the only real problem it has.

I've been to Bucharest a lot a actually. I'm originally from Ruse which is on the Danube and only 70km from Bucharest, though I don't live there anymore

nah, if you have good skills, you can find a decent job in Bulgaria. unskilled and lazy losers just tend to make up reasons for their lack of success.

>roth

>anybody not working in IT is a lazy loser

Kill yourself.

hes still technically correct since it IS ran by the mob which is ran by the usa

Croatia is the better alternative. Bulgarians are commie bastards with Napoleon complex towards Turkey.

Said the Turk gastarbeiter from Sweden

>meme flag
Fuck off faggot.

>Is Bulgaria a good country to visit?
If you don't mind having your kidneys stolen, then yes

you're confusing us with albania
we just steal wallets

they have Bodacious Bulgar Bitches with Bombastically Big Brest

Lviv is fucking awesome i visit it at least twice a year

its rly good country to visit every thing will be chep for u and all the woman are pretty fine, but its not a good county to live in.kys

One of my best friends from college is from Bulgaria. He is hella gay but really good at video games and very intelligent. Idk what he does now but I hope he doesn't have AIDs

A very tame one, Poles do some magic with them. We do nothing and build anew.

I visited Bulgaria when I was in my mid-20's a few years ago with a buddy on an Eastern Europe tour.

Sofia is pretty ugly and grey, food isn't great, and people generally couldn't care less about welcoming foreigners there. Most people in Sofia are coming from or on their way to Turkey.

Veliko Tarnovo is actually a pretty nice little mountain town, but again, not a lot of love from the locals, though a bit more and much prettier than Sofia.

Varna is a decent city on the Black Sea coast, where you can find some more tourists to hang out with to make up for the local's apathy. There's a nice free natural spring bath right on the beach where you can hang out with some of the passing Gypsy population!

That said, plenty of the women are really hot, but language barriers will salt your game nasty. Also, we went too early in the year, wait til full on spring or summer.

This.
And this.

Plus, Bulgarian women are hotter and the only stray dog I encountered was in Bucharest. Fucker wouldn't let go of my backpack straps and followed us for blocks. He was only annoying, not scary though.

>im a foreigner so people must lay down a red carpet and fluff my cock wherever i go
fuck off fag

Theres more jobs in Sofia than jobseekers by far. Companiea have started going bankrupt because theres too few people for their jobs. Has a lot more besides churches as well.

Not saying that. What I mean is that if I lived in a shithole like Sofia, or most of Bulgaria for that matter, I would be stoked when foreign capital enters my country and attempt to be more hospitable. Unlike the miserable sullen faggots like you and the bulk of your countrymen appear to be.

Serbia, Greece and Romania are all ultimately worth going to and spending money in over Bulgaria in that region.

If you are nature guy then its perfect. Lots of amazing sights to behold. If not then it might be interesting to experience a culture vastly different from your own.

Are you the same canadian who was posting a thread about how much toy hated Bulgaria these past few days?

Pretty poor bait or diaspora. To imply serbs are cheerier than us lel

people in general don't care, not just about foreigners. most eastern euro countries are depressing to live in.

Yes, we have a bit of everything, nature is beautiful, food is interesting and not too foreign. Theres a shitton of history and lots to see and learn.

Nyet. Bulgaria doesn't piss me off or anything, I think there's some nice places and merits for sure.

But not even kidding, people in Belgrade are 100% cooler than Sofia, at least when I went.

Could totally see that. Just a little disappointing I guess.

how old is he now? All eastern yuro countries were extremely fucked in the 1990s after fall of the commieism

True. I do 3D animation as a freelancer and make 2-4K USD monthly. And my living expences are like $500 with food and going out. (But I spend most of my money paing my parents loans lol)

The nature is aesthetic so if you’re into that kind of stuff it’s worth the money. The Seven Rila Lakes are amazing.

I fucking love it this way. No fake people. Everybody are so raw and edgy they can cut diamonds. I almost necjed my self for half an year in the states. (It was cool No fake people. Everybody are so raw and edgy they can cut diamonds.)

Any good sites for freelancing? Upwork by any chance? Thanks in advance.

Arent you the guy sporting the Austria flag making this thread every other day about public toilets or whatever?

I got chased by a pack of stray dogs in Sofia. Wasn’t fun.

Go to turkey instead. Istambul is beautiful

I do UpWork mostly. havent bothered with other sites jet as I end up rejecting some of my offers becouse of time. If you do your shit right you are golden.

your country has a metric shit ton of hookers and all the cam girls seem to be from there. whats the deal with that?
kek, thats exactly how it is here in NYC. You can point out a tourist a mile away.

the concept of striking random conversations with strangers is foreign here. there are things to see, but don't expect people to talk to you

lol so true. I always get werded out when I am abroad and somebody jsut strikes a convesation with me on the bus for example.

Even places like saint etienne are full of arabs. The only normal place left is Brittany.

>But not even kidding, people in Belgrade are 100% cooler than Sofia, at least when I went.

Anecdotal evidence, Serbs are decent people but they are darker and less social than us. More nationalistic, prouder and many other positives, but certainly darker, less social, less friendly. Even most serbs will admit this.

That'd be the canadian in this thread I believe.

>lived in Belgium for a few years
>cashiers would strike up a casual conversation with you while checking out
>everybody in your locale sorta knew you and you HAD to exchange pleasantries

Needless to say I was a massive shut-in and everyone thought I was a gigantic douchebag. Fuck fake pleasantries and crap, I'm balkan, give me my shit and I'll give you your shit, if you want to be my friend let's be friends. Nothing inbetween.

stray dogs sadly will never go away thanks to shitty ngos ...

You gotta fucking admire our American-funded pro-diversity NGOs. They go so much above and beyond they actually try to protect STRAY FUCKING DOGS and ENCOURAGE THEM TO FUCKING BREED. Not even only fucking human animals, actual animals.

Bulgaria is good to visit if half or more of the following are true for you and your group:
>you like looking at historical sites - byzantium, rome, thrace, ottoman, etc
>you like looking at religious sites - churches, holy places, pagan stuff
>you like looking at socialist sites - brutalism, neo-classical large administrative buildings, the abandoned flying saucer, monuments
>you like looking at nature and hiking - lakes, mountains, rivers, green places
>you like partying hard - alcohol, drugs, smoky sweaty basement club full of slags
>you want to get your teeth fixed for 5% of the cost you'd pay in the USA

I can't think of other reasons to visit, and you best have 3+ of these for it to be worthwhile.
But if you are visiting the region in general, for example to see Greece which has more good sites, you should definitely swing here. If you are already on the Balkans visiting Bulgaria is very worth it.

Stray dogs were a problem 15-20 years ago, there was a large operation to kill them all, then after enough people got mad at the government, we switched to capturing and sterilizing them at a large monetary cost. Very few stray dogs now.

>Very few stray dogs now.

Heavily, heavily depends on the area.

Sofia-wise, you'll see them in some neighbourhoods and then have 0 in others. To my shock Boyana and Dragalevtzi STILL have a big problem with strays.

yes good people they are

You will only see them where people actively feed and protect them.
That is, you will only see them where people want them.

I like Bulgaria and I've been there a few times.
> Country side is beautiful
> pretty girls
> very nice fresh food
> even the turks there are pretty cool (a turk family stoped and helped us fix my broken car in the middle of no where)
> cool architecture (excluding the communist buildings)
> super nice wine (some of the best i've had)
> 2 euro cocktails

Not evidence, just an opinion.
>decries 'anecdotal evidence'
>provides his own 'anecdotal evidence'
>even most Serbs will admit this
Ok.

And, by the way, not even close to how much cooler the Serbs were than Bulgarians. Just my personal experience and opinion.

You fags are equivalently light/dark, and much less social and friendly in Bulgaria. Both have hot chicks, unlike Romania.

Have you been to Belgrade or Serbia to garner your opinion?

> super nice wine (some of the best i've had)

Never buy brand wines from the supermarket or cheap wines from the restaurant. Anything below 15ish leva (i.e. regular price supermarket wine) is pure and utter trash. Anything above 20ish, i.e. sorta good wines are top tier yeh.

One of the many reasons you need to prepare or have a guide for a visit to Bulgaria.

>Have you been to Belgrade or Serbia to garner your opinion?

Every couple of weeks. Most Sofia people nip over there for a weekend, have some плecкaвицa.

Bulgarian women are absolute harlots, they will dry your balls just for not being a gypo(bulgarian).
I recommend everyone to go there at least once.

>2 euro cocktails
fucking kek he fell for it

how easy would it be for a burger to get a job with just english in sofia?

Heavily depends on education and skills.

You can't do a teaching job, too many people with English here.

i meant without speaking bulgarian

My wife came here with no Bulgarian, it tends to be difficult. Jobs with only English exist, but aren't terribly common.

We're very open to bad language and also very adaptable though, so again, depends on your skillset - if your career path doesn't rely so much on socializing and you're qualified, any company where the boss speaks enough English to communicate with you will be open to hire you.

What's your education, experience, etc.?

why havent the ngo offices been lit on fire or the homes the workers?

Sunny Beach is nice. Good for a complete pissup. Very cheap drinks etc.

Shit often happens to them. Just a few months ago the head of the NGO that supplies lawyers to minorities got punched in the face and beat up. In all fairness, we do more than most colonies.

Just stay in the containment zone, please.

>My wife came here with no Bulgarian, it tends to be difficult. Jobs with only English exist, but aren't terribly common.
are you that bulgarian with dutch wife (if i remember correctly)?

nice. what industries are in need of workers?

Have a Bulgarian girl at my work, she seems into me. How do I win her heart?

lol well most of the cocktails and wine i've i've had there have been great!
I forgot to add
> awesome beach bars and not a nanny state like Australia.
> not flooded with Indians, Chinese and africans.
> 10% flat tax

Visit somewhere else than a ghetto then.

>How do I win her heart?
Check if she's dating a Chad before you do anything.
THOTs will never warn you beforehand

quick question
are stray dogs a problem in all eastern european countries or only in ex commie ones?
i live in a rural area in a city block and theres at least 3 packs of dogs running around
the garbage dump dogs that feed on our trash
the local shop dogs that are fed by the owner
and the main street dogs that are fed by old people
i was personally attacked by the trash dogs on a few occasions
god,i wish someone would do something about them
theres no one to castrate them and no one to kill them

Just poison the trash dogs but leave the others alone.
