ITT: Mary Sues

ITT: Mary Sues

remember when Renges pistol whips him behind the dune?

To settle this meme once and for all, here's a legitimate example of a male Mary Sue.

...

Another prime fucking example here

>needs to be saved by Ben in the bar in IV
>needs to be saved by Han in the Death Star in IV
>isn't just great at everything he tries and isn't just naturally better than others without trying
>is a whiny teenager who gains Han and Leia's trust and isn't just universally liked from the start
>Loses to Vader in V
>Needs to be saved by Vader in VI

>b-but he wins in the end
Women and gays need to learn the difference between a protagonist and a Mary Sue, especially since they are running Hollywood

He had his hand cut off

Gr8 b8 m8! I r8 8/8!

Nah, he blew up China through hard work and training

100% agree. The only thing he is good at is piloting, but it's mentioned multiple times that this is his 1 thing.

At no point in episode 4 is he the only one that can do something.
>Han and Leia kill stormtroopers
>Han also shoots the tie fighters
>Biggs is also a pilot for the alliance
>Red leader also gets torpedo's away, but they just miss

Luke does it because Han saves the day.

>spontaneously learns force persuasion without any training or even knowing it's possible
>goes even with a trained Sith the first time she picks up a lightsaber
>spends entire life on a desert planet but is somehow an ace starship pilot
>Han and Leigh trust her completely without having met her before
>probably gets two scoops of ice cream for dessert
>normies unironically like Rey and TFA
WEW!!

She is literally Eragon tier sue

...

>b-b-but it's Luke whose the Mary Sue, s-stop hating women misogynist!

The only thing that would make this redeeming is if she turned out to be the evil one

You forgot how she really doesn't needs anyones help at any point in the movie. Even when captured she manages to pull a mind trick out of her ass and goes full Solid Snake on Death Star III

Could not agree more. But Disney are a bunch of pussies. Ep8 will be a remake of empire. And Star wars will be worse for it.

>you forgot how she pulled mind tricks out of her ass.
That's what force persuasion is. I remembered. But I wish I could forget.

Actually her climbing around undetected was the 1 thing she did that was okay. On Jakku she would've had to climb around to get parts. We even see her do this. Plus climbing around in imperial ships would help her get accustomed to imperial designs in general. Everything else is pure mary sue though.

>Episode 8 will be an Empire Remake
Except instead of losing she'll beat Kylo and cut off his hand. Then she'll go back to space Ireland and finish teaching Luke how to be a better Jedi.

Kek. If only.

>Kylo Ren loses his hand
Bet in ten years time there will be essays on how Kylo Ren is the true protagonist of the sequels

>goes even with a trained Sith the first time she picks up a lightsaber
She's definitely a Sue, but this meme about the end fight needs to end. Kylo is a pussy in general and took a bowcaster to the abs before the fight. Him losing makes sense, even if it makes the movie boring.

The best part is that even Luke's piloting skills aren't what save the rebels in the end, but rather his willingness to trust the force when talking the shot.

TFA is pure garbage. I can't believe this is canon

You forgot that with in 30 seconds of stepping foot on the millennium falcon she knows more about it and can fly it better than Han can.

Kylo Ren lost because he is straight up massively less powerful than Rey with the force. That's all there is to it. His injury, inexperience, emotional distress, etc is all just window dressing to try and make that fact more palatable to people who went into the sequels expecting some semblance of a good story.

People are way to blindside with the idea that Kylo is a fully fledged Sith/capable of harnessing the Dark side. The whole point of him in TFA, which I do think will be made clearer throughout the trilogy, is that he's just shit at his job at being a 'sith'. He doesn't have the hatred or anger his grandpops who he so highly looks up to had for the Obi Wan/Jedi Order or losing Padme. Anakin was absolutely bonkers evil at the end of Ep 3 that Kylo wont be able to ever (and perhaps deep down knowingly) match.

He tried to achieve this with killing Han. Didn't work. Injured yes but if his supposed hatred for his father and what his family stood for you would only think he would be ODing on sith midi's enough to hammer Rey. But no, because its the point of his journey to realisation that he's always been a puppet whether of Lukes at the academy or Snoke and the First Order and that he needs to lie independent of the two teachings, in the middle.

So no, Kylo wont be a grey Jedi or an antihero. Simply the perfect balance between the force, like Luke will teach Rey in Ep 8 after seeing in such an isolated place with a small amount of students how easy it is for students to turn when Jedi ideals are forced down their throats.

I'm afraid it'll turn too poetry-y with Vader killing the Emporer in RotJ and have him eventually slaughter Snoke in anger (with the dark) for the greater good (the light), hence balancing the force. Thus retribution etc etc.

>Kylo was injured
Luke could barely fight a training droid with assistance from Obi Wan in IV. The first time Rey uses a lightsaber she FORCE PULLS IT away from Kylo and wins an elaborately choreographed duel vs Kylo. Injury or not, she shouldn't have stood a chance. She ends up winning.

>Kylo wasn't fully trained
According to the movie's own shitty story....He started training under Luke and then later studied under a new sith master (Snoke). He spent a decent amount of years there too because Kylo's betrayal marks the start of Lukes disappearance. He has done everything but shoot lightning, even catching and freezing energy with his hands. Oh ya, and he's the leader of a bunch of SIth Knights. Total noob? or did he just have inferior genitalia?

All he did his entire life was battle since age like 7
