You know what irks me the most about this show? The lack of villains. I want to see the Gems fight actual bad guys instead of monsters. The few villains we do get are disposed of after two episodes or redeemed. How long until they introduce some actual villains

not to generalize but i get the impression the writers of this show don't believe in evil. everyone's just misunderstood and needs understanding. except those evil intolerant homeworld gems, but they're somewhere really far away

Eh, of the ones in that group you have specific characters of creepy bitch that is more hostile from abuse on her end and lashing back out at all that lives, nerd that became a good guy, honor-driven soldier that fights for her people, and boss that hasn't been properly shown yet outside of being angry about weapon not being used. Feels like season 2 could end with Steven and Yellow Diamond having a civil discourse resulting in an arrangement that is mutually beneficial to both humans and Gems.

Homeworld isnt actually evil. They're just doing what a species like them was made to do. Expand their empire.

It's the same with a lot of shows, anime or cartoon. What happened to letting villains live for arcs and having some heavy antagonism on the main characters?

>2 seasons later

The SU fandom really is full of drones and shills aren't they

The second season isn't even over yet

Peridot was a villain that becomes a good guy, there's still Jasper whenever she comes back. And I think in each season from now on they'll face off against each member of the Diamond Authority.

um, no?

But Steven is a win-win protag. No one has to die. Everybody can win.

>52

Lol

not sure the significance of those numbers but it says there season 3 started May 12.

regardless, the point still stands the show started awhile ago and has yet to have any substantive episodes involving villains that aren't put on the backburner immediately.

Number of episodes in a season
You are getting scammed

steven-universe.wikia.com/wiki/Season_3

is this inaccurate as well?

Not saying it isn't truth, just that you are getting less episodes per season.

>The few villains we do get are disposed of after two episodes or redeemed
so it's just like that show we aren't allowed to talk about anymore?

It has literally been stated that there is no overarching villain or bad guy to the series in multiple Q&As

Then what the fuck is Yellow Diamond

Mid-season boss for 3 that gets defeated and becomes one of the good guys with a strange mixture of superiority complex and fascination with the world while being butt shafted that her regeneration is weaker than the older form that was gained from hundreds of thousands of years of training.

Yellow Diamond is the only villain of the show after that Jasper died.

She isn't dead. Just sleeping in magma next to Scorponok and Terrorsaur.

>How long until they introduce some actual villains

Since you haven't picked up on it by now, one of the show's central concepts is that there aren't any villains. Everyone has reasons for doing what they do and at worst they're misinformed or the person lacks experience in some field. If you don't like that then the show isn't for you. That's fine. There are thousands of others for you to watch.

What is the point of learning to fight if there is no evil to vanquish?

CN is shortening all their shows season length, just so they can brag about how many seasons air successfully.

The whole point of her scene with Peridot is that she won't be redeemed. She can't be reasoned with. She'll destroy Earth no matter what, so the Crystal Gems won't have a choice but to put her down for good.

She wanted her weapon. Peridot was claiming that the vague claim of unique materials exceeded the use of the Cluster in combat with she determined was unlikely from previous experiences with that planet and the local Peridot being defected with recent actions to make credibility low.

the problem with this show is that they didn't developed lapis enough and are lacking connie and pearl episodes, not the lack of good villains
