The problem with biomed is they are all either PhDs already, or the company is run by MBA's who get butthurt over your degree and they only employ a handful of actual scientists.
Chemistry is big because it is so small at the top. Basically the top 20% all have a PhD, so even if you are Gates or Zuckerberg power level, you would never get taken seriously without one.
