Waifu Wiki?

Is there a Sup Forums waifu catalog?
If not, would anons be interested in contributing to one? The purpose would be to create a comprehensive resource for artists to help them with drawing practice and commission fanart.

Yes there is, enjoy.

I meant more like an archive of official model sheets and organized chronologically.
Not like a deviantart gallery.

you can if people but them in Sup Forums derpimage or whatever its called

i also forgot too mention I've been doing this for some times now like characters with different outfits. I almost completed one or two but unorganized

Why not create a Sup Forums wiki with waifu, recs etc?

I remember someone tried to do model sheets for drawfags
They were a college of photos from different angles plus a full bodyshot with redlines showing proportions
sadly I never saved one but I'm totally for making one.

Apparently there is a Wiki dedicated to female characters in games

OP here. Basically, I'm an aspiring artist.
So something like this would be helpful to me and hopefully others as well.
Looking for good references take time. Time that could be spent drawing.
Every so often Sup Forums has a waifu thread with charts and everything which is why I thought people might be interested.
So the goal would be to create the ultimate (interactive) waifu chart that could sort entries quickly and easily.
By series/hair color/eye color/occupation/ production year/ designer etc.
So a spread sheet style document might work. Would include bio stuff found on a wiki, but all the waifus would be on the same page with relevant information allowing for efficient viewing.

mostly im just collecting reference pics of characters to improve my drawing animated porn of them if i could

There would be an animation history aspect to it as well. It wouldn't just include Sup Forums's FOTM, but older series as well. Allowing for obscure entries too. Basically, including series that were before the internet where (high quality) references are difficult to find. I'm thinking a good start would be from the 80s til now.
Anons could contribute using personal rips. Images would be restricted to official art though to preserve accuracy.

Also this is a very good reason too.

That might be pretty cool if you could get it up and running, but it seems like it'd be a TON of effort and I'm not entirely sure how you'd go about documenting all that information.

Unless you're just requesting people post references and biographical information about their waifus in this thread.

The problem with a wiki style format is that the links are all over the place. Consolidating it would give artists a boost. Especially for creating artwork of multiple characters

Start from 80s. Go year by year with shows by release date. Name of show, genre of show, studio/network, list all female characters with their characteristics; try to include a decent headshot, model sheets, color palettes. The exhausting part would be the research and gathering references.
It would be an ambitious project. The purpose of this thread was to see if people would want such a thing to begin with and would they be willing to help out.

I get the feeling most people would be willing to at least offer that much info about their own waifu, or at the very least I would. Mine is exclusive to comics books though so I dunno if that's necessarily what you're after since you've been posting almost exclusively references from cartoons

it would be a Sup Forums project so it would include comics (print/web) as well; especially since there would be alot of franchise crossover. I have been posting Timmverse stuff because I know it exists. The hard part for comics would be finding good references. Since I know comic creators don't post as much model sheets as animation studios. People would have to use high quality scans of comics and edit them to crop out text bubbles for them to be usable as references.
Also the user that mentioned different outfits could be applies to different styles as well. since there are multiple incarnations of the same character; especially with all these reboots.

...

So, basically, you're looking for a model sheet booru.
That could be interesting, except for the fact that most people wouldn't want to contribute much because it won't involve uploading the new interesting picture they found; it will just involve scanning art books or visiting official sites to upload them.

Sounds like something that would be rarely updated, or would be flooded with screenshots.

A reference gallery for artists seemed like a good idea. But when you say it like that, I could definitely see some of the issues, Other boorus are mainly for fanart. This booru would be geared towards education.
Perhaps not just model sheets but also promotional art. My concern would be quality control. Even official wikis have youtube quality ant size pics.
Something like this but for Sup Forums: creativeuncut.com

i dont mind screenshot of the show but it cant be the same one. screenshot can be used as reference since there on model sometimes

I support this idea. I've always been a bit envious of the drawthreads on Sup Forums, and Sup Forums to a lesser extent, because of the plentiful and well-organized reference sheets they provide.

Is this chick from one of those horrible looking straight-to-DVD Barbie movies?

Why are those even a thing?
