Just got done watching episode 5. Coop regains memory in this episode. He sees a tape recorder a kid is using(what year is this?) and he grabs it from the kid and starts talking to Diane. Then all his memories come back. He leaves for twin peaks after getting a vision from the giant. That's the end of the episode

Naomi Watts is credited as Janey-E Jones, so yes, she's his wife. I doubt Dougie is the biological father of Sonny Jim; the skin color is off and Dougie most probably was not a real human anyway.

the new season is a different beast and can stand alone quite confidently...that said I did google a ew names during but for the most part its like BCS, returning characters stand alone but for returning viewers its like "ooohhh its that guy again" but it doesn't have any real weight on the plot.
