Went there for a week or so back in 2014.
Most of my time was spent in and around Sarajevo. Quite an interesting little city with a lot of history, though it still shows the wounds of war.
Lots of amputees and people suffering from mental illness. I got followed out of a bus by an old man yelling at me in Bosnian. He had a crazed look in his eyes and was clearly unstable.
The 20-something-year old girl manning my hostel reception told me about her experience as a child. Can't remember the gritty bits, but we talked a lot since I was the only guest there. She said several of her relatives had been raped and that it was hard interacting with Serbs, since you never know who may have done what.
That aside, didn't have any problems in Sarajevo or while hitchhiking from Zupanja 'til there.

I've heard Sarajevo is quite a fun city. The only place I've visited in Ex-Yugoslavia is Zagreb and that was pretty weird.

They don't actually want anything to do with Bosnians themselves. They're building private residential areas that are only exclusive to arabs. They might be shut down though since they're avoiding taxes. Good riddance
