Scorsese hasn't made a single good movie in the 21st century. He has died as an artist.

Fahk you! Fahkin queeahs. Fiyamen gettin pussy for the first time in the history of fiya or pussy. Hey go save a kitten in a tree, ya fahkin homos!

the rat was cgi

Oh please. The Wolf of Wall Street is one of his best. It just needs time to age like fine wine,.

This. He became a caricature of himself after Goodfellas. Maybe even during Goodfellas, as much as it pains me to say, since I enjoy that movie.

It happens to most filmmakers, really. You can't really fault them. Eventually you just run out of important statements to make.

Nah.

The rat symbolizes obviousness!

The Departed, Wolf, Silence are all great movies you fucking pleb.

Hugo

All trash

He has made great movies, not his classic masterpieces but great movies, if someone like Villenueve or Gonzalez IƱarritu would have made the movies Scorsese did in 21st century, they'd be called gods

>HERE'S ANOTHER OSCAR
You mean his first?

I love Casino but the end is beginning for sure for sure.

>artsy shot / homage to classic film stacked upon artsy shot / homage to classic film bombarding you at light speed in every scene with no rhyme or reason or creative function
>20 second snippet of iconic 60's / 70's pop song fades into another 20 second snippet of iconic 60's / 70's rock song bombarding you at light speed in every scene with no rhyme or reason or creative function

Another? When did he win earlier?

>I'M THE ONE WHO KNOCKS!

what the fuck? is that really pesci? WHAT HAPPENED

Hugo is the definition of a 5/10 film

your trash

i don't get it

Because he write his movies

Brilliant ending, it shows how the rat featured in the window was the actual gang leader and not jack nicholson and he was getting his dirty cop to whack matt damon for trying to be a rat.

Moral of the story, don't try to be a rat.

Brilliant scorese at it again.

I thought Taxi Driver was garbage. I don't understand how it launched his career

Time happened

kek he has his initials embroidered onto his hat

Villenueve>21st century Scorsese man>>>>>>>>>>>>>Adam Sandler>Inarritu

May I recommend Nolan movies OP? It might be on a level you understand.

I don't give a fuck who you are or what you've made. If you have the arrogance and the lack of self awareness to take the greatest final shot of all time from the Third Man and cram it in as an "homage" at the end of your movie while stripping away all of its meaning and depth by applying it to your shitty zero dimensional love triangle you forced into the script to appeal to the "female demographic," you need to fuck off from filmmaking forever because you're finished.

>the greatest final shot of all time
Nah

this is a wink & nod you idiots, because at this point in the film you know who the rats are. that rat is not any sort of metaphor and you're a pleb for thinking so

damn Pesci is truly just a rugged old Italian bastard eh, he looks exactly like my italian friends grandpa

you didn't know Marky Mark was a rat until the end

Bringing Out the Dead is pretty great.

Not even memeing, its fairly blunt with the symbolism but the actual meaning that they play with the characters and story is really interesting. Plus fucking nick cage and great camera work.

The jews hate the italians

> deniro
> scorcese
> pachino
> morricone

All thrown pity oscars near the end of their careers

The Departed is essentially a comedy, but the pairing of Monahan-Scorsese is a hell of a vaudeville act.

>Scorsese hasn't made a single good movie

Imagine if Silence was made as a comedy of contingency. Like 'Analyze That' with Jesuit priests.

It's just a fuckin' joke people. Jeez. Can't Marty have a sensible chuckle once in awhile?

Are you sure about that

Mean Streets was pretty good

is Scorzese and Pacino.

and?

I love how The Departed is almost like Wet Hot American Summer for cops. I mean it's in a broad American context but the irony is that one character can fit a kind of archetype and still seem atypical at the same time.

I haven't seen Silence yet, but every other movie since Casino has been disappointing.

"Scorcese is dead as an artist"

Literally keeps pumping out kino movies.

Especially his latest installment only signifies he's still great.

fucking contrarian goys

>Literally keeps pumping out trash

He wasn't a rat dude. He killed Damon for being a rat himself and getting martin sheen's character killed.

I think when Costigan punches the guy who was reaching for his cigarettes it's supposed to foreshadow Sullivan's murder of Queenan. It's subtle but it's got to be intentional. Did the cops run the gambling dens? Wahlberg's character later says that the cigarette man was undercover...

he killed him because he worked for Costello too and was covering up loose ends

Except he hired leo to spy on Costello.
Part of damon's job finding out who's an in formant for the police.
