ALBA was a failure exactly because the leftist and protectionist political hierarchy we had at the time here and in a few of the other South American Countries were really vocal opposing it
And Mercosur is a fairly small market we manufacture quite a variety of stuff, but the really state of the art products are made by maybe 1 or 2 companies, usually with lots of government backing, so no competition in those segments and high tax rates if you feel like trading with the other 190 countries the world has
