Do we all agree that this is the worst Bond movie?

Do we all agree that this is the worst Bond movie?

I am trying to rewatch it and the Jason Bourne action chase scenes are cut so terribly and fast. It doesnt resemble a Bond movie at all apart from the Opera scene.

No humor is present at all and this is what makes the movie suffer incredibly.

The villain is not threatening at all and is no doubt the worst Bond villain ever.

At least Spectre has the pace and feel of a Bond movie.

that's not Die Another Day

I will say that I actually enjoy Another Way To Die over Writings On The Wall

Die Another Day at least has a strong first act.

Can we stop the meme where DAD is terrible from start to finish. That at least was a fun movie. QoS isnt fun at all. Its a boring movie.

Not even Craig could save it and he delivered a brilliant performance in Casino and really sold me as Bond in that

...

By far the best. I don't get the hate

Spectre was trash, unarguably the worst of the Craig films so far.

Kill yourself, my man.

For real. Quantum is the Bond pleb filter. It beats Skyfall and Spectre to a pulp.

>chase scenes are cut so terribly and fast
The editing is by far the worst thing about the movie. Hardly a single shot lasts longer than a couple of seconds. It's like they dropped the film into a paper-shredder and tried to patch it back together again.

But if you can get used to that (and it takes a few viewings), what emerges is a film nearly as good as Casino Royale. In fact it neatly ties up the threads that it left dangling.

The common mistake is to dismiss this film on the first viewing. It wasn't intended as disposable entertainment. Only when you see it a few times do the nuances appear, and the finer points of the plot.

>It doesnt resemble a Bond movie at all
That's for sure - they tried to make something new, fresher and harder-edged. But they soon learned their lesson, and returned to the usual cheesefest format for Skyfall.

Quantum was dull and the plot to steal all the water from Mexico or wherever was stupid, plus it happens all the time in real life.

The only people who think Craig is the best Bond are Americans and morons.

>this guy

Octopussy is the worst Bond movie by a mile. Almost killed the franchise.

Unless you like so-bad-it's-hilarious trash.

This.

QoS was trying to move Bond into the real world, with an elusive villain modeled after the Bilderbergs and a plot that actually occurred in IRL (Bolivia's water supply actually WAS impounded by a transnational consortium).

But the corny Bondfags rejected it and we got MUH BAD GUY BROTHER. Too bad.

I only appreciate the last 2 Bon movies. Everything else is pure trash. Casino Royale was just as bad as this one. And the Roger Moore stuff is laughable crap, I never watched them because just the trailers were horrendous

I love Moonraker.

It's not the worst, just utterly forgettable. Worst is still Die Another Die or one of the carny as shit Roger Moore films.

Among the Craig films, Spectre is easily the worst.

>final chase scene
>Bond shoots down Blofeld's helicopter with his pistol
>gets a girl who's the daughter of a guy he shot in the first movie and is half his age

Wow.

QoS had the best Bond girls of all time.

It's literally pleb filter. Spectre is terrible and Skyfall is an overhyped Nolan knock off.

This desu. Quantum had some decent moments whereqs Spectre was complete trash

>Skyfall is an overhyped Nolan knock off

That's the way to describe Skyfall that's always been on the edge of my tongue.

Casino Royale is undoubtedly one of the best Bond films, if not the best. QoS might have actually been a decent follow-up if they didn't fuck up the editing. Decent but still a letdown.

Skyfall wasn't the victim of similar editing problems but I found it incredibly sterile with Bond doing lots of nothing in a lot of scenes.

Spectre was garbage. Pure garbage.

Die Another Day is Brosnan's second best right up until, and I mean EXACTLY until the halfway mark.

This guy gets it

As much as I don't like the movie, I have to agree with this. Such a shame these Bond girls weren't in a better movie.

I still can't believe pic related was in a movie with Brosnan a couple years ago where Brosnan plays an aged Secret Agent and his best friend who betrays him looks like a young Sean Bean. Talk about 100% Ironic

>t. it's my 18th birthday, I can finally post

>Those clothes she is wearing

Thanks for giving away the twist you braindead shitface

I kind of wonder how a Casino Royale with Brosnan would have turned out. It might have not worked because Bond is supposed to be younger but Brosnan taunting Le Chiffre would have been great.

>Thanks for giving away the twist you braindead shitface
How is it a twist? Just like GoldenEye, the Sean Bean lookalike betrays Brosnan pretty early in the movie

I would honestly rather rewatch Quantum over Spectre because the opera scene was fantastic and I enjoyed the bond girl.

Spectre had zero redeeming qualities.

>I kind of wonder how a Casino Royale with Brosnan would have turned out.
Brosnan would have been his usual charming self who was able to get the ladies and deliver some pretty good fight scenes under the direction of the same director of GoldenEye.

It possibly could have been Brosnan's best Bond movie yet with Brosnan's Bond being the gritty version that he should have been to begin with.

I really would love to travel to the alternate timeline where this was made with Brosnan.

oh ok sorry
worth watching?

>Quantum had the worst villain, he just wanted to steal WATER LOL!
I will take water thieves over IT WAS ME JAMES, ALL OF THESE EVENTS WERE CAUSED BY ME

>Spectre had zero redeeming qualities.
Not true, the Bond girl is a Goddess and the movie has perfect humor and drama and Craig delivered a brilliant performance compared to his performance in QoS that was just louzy - nothing to do with Craig but the horrible script that was just a Jason Bourne movie.

I wonder if contrarians really believe their bullshit of if they're just joking around.

>euro teeth
>goddess

Half and half. Advanced contrarians bend their taste to their shitposts

>worth watching?
Yes although the rape scene was very unexpected (no joke there is an actual rape scene where the "Bond girl" plays a woman who was raped as a child).

Now this movie really feels like a mix of Quantum of Solace and GoldenEye.

Is the concept of not spoilering the movie that difficult for you to grasp?
Shut your fucking dumb mouth already you stupid piece of shit. Thanks for the rec though

>not wanting to marry her

Quantum of Solace is a movie that's probably terrible on the big screen but works very well on a computer screen where you can pause and rewind if you've missed something.

As for the plot, it's grounded which fits the Jason Bourne style that Casino took over after Bourne movies were done with it. This is nothing new, we had Bond borrowing from many other genres like blaxploitation or sci-fi.

For once, the villain's plot is actually connected to the villain's ideology. Those complaining that it's just Bolivia and its water, Living Daylights was just about diamonds, opium and arms and License to Kill about a single drug dealer (as was Live and Let Die).

What QoS is is coherent. The tone matches the plot and the personalities and actions of the protagonists. This is demonstrated in the beginning with Mr.White, who starts laughing during his interrogation because while Quantum members are paranoid about investigation, MI6 didn't even know there was anything to investigate.

The editing is hard to watch but on the other hand, it makes the action sequences faster, which leaves more time for the plot and the settings.

>not spoilering the movie

Pls don't be serious

>Here's the thing about Question of Sport...

Quantum of Solace is unironically the best Craig Bond film and perhaps the best Bond film ever.

The shaky cam ever present and quick cuts represent Bond at his peak and Craig too at his physical peak. The kills are perhaps the most brutal by Bond in the entire series- swift and agile, when Bond lays on the floor with the agent at his hand bleeding out from being stabbed in his femur he breathes in serenity and looks into the distance. The camera staying focusing on a bloodshot Bond hanging upside after firing the trigger. Calmness after minutes of adrenaline. He doesnt have a problem killing when he has to and in this one he needs to the most.

I hate hate HATE Diamonds are forever.

It's goddamn horrible and everyone who disagrees is just licking Connery's taint. Half of his films are hokey as fuck and as silly as Moore's stuff. And Moore at least had the decency to play it self-aware.

Anyone who thinks QoS or DAD is the worst Bond movie clearly hasn't seen A View To A Kill or Octopussy.

>QoS might have actually been a decent follow-up if they didn't fuck up the editing.
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THE EDITOR'S PROBLEM

>Spectre was garbage. Pure garbage.
No. I can enjoy rewatching it whilst I can't enjoy watching QoS again apart from the opening car chase.

She was a lame character with inconsistent motivations. Craig also seemed really tired and disinterested for much of the movie, which reflects how miserable he was on the set.

As someone who saw it in theaters, the opening is 10/10. But the rest of your post is correct.

And yet he's coming back to play old man Bond one more time, despite everyone except the studio being ready to move on.

>he hates non-ironic camp

>not including the awful CGI from them falling down through the glass

The part right after that is directed and edited so well though

Yes Craig has said in a recent interview that he did feel tired but he still is down to returning one more time
youtube.com/watch?v=ZB8-VRpglnc

Yeah it really seems like a joyless production now. I can't imagine how shitty it will be after the phoned in spectacle of Spectre.

dem titties doe

is that the one where he and Grandma hide out in that rural house near the end? the one with a secret escape tunnel built in?
yeah... that bond movie was fucking horrible atleast by my vague memories of it
I mean I vaguely remember thinking it was pretty shit for a bond movie

Plenty was a top tier bond girl even though she was just a retarded slut that gets thrown out a window.

That was Skyfall, you moron. Would it kill phoneposters to read the thread before replying?

>Skyfall is an overhyped Nolan knock off
You're only saying that because getting caught was part of the villain's plan. Aesthetically and thematically it bares almost no similarities to Nolan's work, the comparison is beyond lazy.

The fight on the roof with all the neon signs is something Nolan wishes he could pull off. If anything QoS is the Nolan Bond, given the editing for the action scenes.

>the horrible script that was just a Jason Bourne movie

Gee, it's almost like Jason Bourne is a spy or something. Anyway, it was still better than Skyfall which was the third movie that year to do the "Was getting caught a part of your plan?" schtick or Spectre which borrowed its entire plot from fucking Captain America of all movies and added "Architect of your pain" for throwbacks.

>QoS is the Nolan Bond

QoS is Jason Bond. It's not nearly pretentious enough to resemble Nolan.

I did read it... I just haven't memorized the recent bond movies bud.
Anyway, Skyfall sucked but it may have been better then Solace which after watching an old trailer for I now remember pretty well.

>those tired, yearning eyes
>that permanently annoyed accent
>those daddy issues

the dream desu

>Spectre was garbage
It's one of the best looking Bond films. Does it suffer from problems? Of course but that doesn't mean it is garbage.

>The opening sequence
>The train fight scene
>The look of Blofeld's base
>The Spectre meeting scene
>Mr White scene
>Bond Madaleine finding Mr White's secret room and Madaleine looking at photos, remembering her childhood
>The comedic scene where Bond points a gun at a rat and says the lines "who are you working for" which reminds me of the scene in Diamonds are Forever when Connery is trapped with the rat in the tunnel
All of those were great moments and I find a lot of scenes that make me want to rewatch this film

That's what's called all style, no substance

>See Quantum of Solace thread again
>think about the car accident that left my boyfriend died, 15 minutes after leaving the theater showing this movie
>this was the last movie he ever saw
>why do you put me through this with these QoS threads, these 9 years have been shit without him

worst connery Never say never
worst moore For your eyes only
worst brosnan Die another day
worst craig quantum of solace

>worst brosnan Die another day
wrong. his worst is TWINE

:^)

>seen DAD about 100 times
>favourite bond movie

2 out of 4 wrong, see me after class

Spectre is by far better than DAD but I still really like DAD

>worst connery Never say never
That's a hilarious film. My favourite Connery.

>Do we all agree that this is the worst Bond movie?
there are like 30 of those? I surely don't remember each one.

but yeah, Quantum of Solace was complete ass, worst craig bond for sure

Skyfall and Never Say Never Again have some stuff in common like an aged Bond trying to get back into shape and doing basic training again.

I find that pretty cool

QOS really isn't that bad. Die Another Day and OHMSS are much worse.

The plot is ridiculous, but it's better than in Tomorrow never Dies, where Carver wants to start a war for broadcasting rights.

I don't get why people say it was Craig's weakest performance; it was Bond at his most unhinged and brutal. Probably the most frightening Bond has been since License to Kill.

It's better than Spectre imo; the plot felt ridiculously contrived and they didn't use Waltz nearly as much as they should have.

It was also lazy af
>shoots down helicopter, hundreds of meters away, while on a moving boat, with a .380 pistol

Did they not have enough money to put a missile launcher on the boat they took from headquarters?

You are entirely in the wrong

Nope

which is the movie where bond has that sword fight with the blond guy
I liked that

Die Another Day

>I will take water thieves over IT WAS ME JAMES, ALL OF THESE EVENTS WERE CAUSED BY ME

No fucking kidding. While the rest of the movie wasn't great anyways, those lines just ruined it completely for me.

Die Another Day is a pleb filter. Those who don't like it take their Bond movies too seriously. It's got some of the best fights (swordfight) and the cheesiest things ever (surfing) and it's all great.

Quantum of Solace is another pleb filter. Those who don't like it are faggots who don't take Bond seriously when it ventures there. Shaky cam is the only sub par thing in the film. Villain was great and it was all so refreshing. A decent continuation of Casino.

The only Craig film that's utter shit is Spectre.

Am I watching a Liam Neeson movie?

>Do we all agree that this is the worst Bond movie?
fuck off, the most recent movie where he did magic with that stupid plane was such a shity part of movie, specially since it had Daniel craig on it.. just terrible.

The 90s bond movies also sucked so much.

Christmas or jinx ?

>inb4 Charlie sheen's aids ridden cock

Sorry bro

I liked QoS a lot. Better than spectre and skyfall in some ways. The worst part was the plane sequence but everything else was enjoyable.

QoS is my all time favorite Bond film.

When I first watched it in the theater I didn't care for it but after repeat viewings it became #1 and deservedly so.

Ali true. Spectre has some memorable scenes but it was about 15 mins too long because the the end felt tacked on and the payoff wasn't worth it.

I have it at number 13 of 24, so I guess fairly middling. Certainly not the worst.
I thought Spectre was a worse Craig film but QoS was definitely below Casino Royale and Skyfall.

>t. Eli will always be 4everAlone

>t. you will never again feel the apocalyptic nerd rage that Sup Forums felt when she died.

Woops wrong thread

Definitely one of the most forgettable and unexciting bonds. I would argue that Spectre comes close to topping it but the bad direction, editing and plot makes QoS just that much worse imo

But user, "Never Say Never Again" is not an official James Bond 007™ film series currently owned by Danjaq LLC, and MGM™ in collaboration with Colombia Pictures™, a Sony Company.

aye..

What is wrong with Thunderball?
I loved Thunderball.

well in that case, connery has never made a shittty bond film.
