...

Crazy how fast Janin is pumping all of these issues, Superman 52 came out just last week

This came out a while ago

...

We got new pages since it comes out next week

A fucking nigger

Dropped.

For those who hate the Grayson tumblr pandering, it's continuing here..

>inb4 "Batman" is now black

not from this issue, but Newsarama has preview pages from the actual issue one that comes out in 2 weeks

Is Tom King gay? He always sounds SUPER excited about this stuff.

...

Snyder's been trying to make Bruce sexy for a while, it's never worked, let's see if King can do it.
>Chest hair
Fucking finally.

Is that it?

Hope King carries on with the Three Jokers and the Thomas Wayne letter mystery.

yep, was hoping there would be more than one new page but oh well

well you know, poser

>the Grayson tumblr pandering
tumblr hated Grayson, user, they have no taste

I had my doubts but the yellow highlight on the emblem is starting to grow on me.

...

It won't work with Bruce. He is just not a sexy character even if you give him a good body. I'm not even turned on by this.

I like Janin's Bruce. He looks manly.

I honestly don't care about the poser thing, the art is pretty and I really like his backgrounds.

>Hope King carries on with the Three Jokers and the Thomas Wayne letter mystery.

Why? it's a terrible idea.

Another panel from Batman #1

I'd rather King do it than Tynion

>Calendar man talking about time being out of whack

Is this tied to something that happened earlier in Batman, or is it Rebirth-related.

Fucking finally Bruce looks good again.

Probably Rebirth, new writers don't usually continue their predecessor's stories.

Janin's stuff looks good. Finch's looks like garbage. Guess I'll only be buying one issue a month for the time being.

>Calendar Man notices the stolen time
Huh, this actually makes sense for the character, bravo

Doesn't work that way. King gave them separate arcs. Finch is doing the first one, Janin's on the next one and so on. Makes sense to me.

God fucking damn it. Why. Why. Damian should have been the last Robin, he finally killed the dumbass argument that Batman puts kids in danger. Fuck you Snyder.

Me too. Regardless, I suppose I'll just be buying Janin issues when they come up then.

A loud minority hate it, almost everyone else love it.

lmao janin is just as bad as finch. At least finch actually draws his shit instead of using tracer models

seems obvious from the way they talk in interviews he's gonna make his own identity like harper row

Why is there always some other guy cowriting with King?

I don't think either of them is bad. I'm not a fan of Finch, but his art is inoffensive to me, and Janin may use tracer, but his work is nice to look at.

so he can get the blam if things turn out bad

>American Electric Batman

Perfect

Damian still IS Robin. And he has two books to his name with various cameos in other books to come.
Duke is another ward, but he'll have a mantle different from Robin.

It's just the rebirth issue.

Only on Grayson, and this one issue

> he'll have a mantle different from Robin.
No he won't. CHanging the name means nothing. Duke is now playing the role of Robin and replacing Damian. Whether you like that or not, it is fact.

Tom King writing is super interesting

Alpha as fuck

>based King shilling based Rebirth

thank you

>pearls

GDI I'm sick of seeing this scene

That bulge tho.

His body got completely healed from Endgame. No more scars.

Learn what fact means.

Oh fuck off with this shit. I should just stop coming to this shithole.

It seems more like he's complaining about the environment

Not sure if I am going to pick up either this or Superman up; of if If should just trade wait on both. Has DC stated how soon trades of the bi-monthly books will be released?

Have you only read Grayson?

Sometimes they do, but I haven't been reading Batman stuff for over a year so I didn't know if I missed something.

Still, pretty nice tie-in. For people who missed Rebirth and only really read Batman, you can just chalk it up to Calendar Man being fucking crazy.

King is a big fan of continuity.

Damian is usually written like crap when he's interacting with Bruce, he doesn't feel natural, I would rather see him with the TT or Jon. His Robin just doesn't work with Bruce they way it did with Dick.

True, but that doesn't bother me.
King said he wants to go back to the basics: Batman, Alfred, Gordon and a ward-in-training, kind of like Tim's first year of training to be Robin, when he didn't really leave the cave. Can't really pull that shit off with Damian, since he's already a specialist in martial arts.

Batman actually calling him "calendar man" out loud instead of his last name like he does with most villains is fucking stupid.

this is probably going to be better than Superman. King has a way better track record with Batman than Tomasi does with Supes.

No, no, no, You see Duke isn't *Robin* and he's the first one who doesn't need Batman like the others do! He's special.

So welcome Tim 2.0, who is even better than his predecessor because in addition of being made to be as unobjectionable as possible he also represents the oppressed minorities!!

It worked fine when Damian was a corpse

>Jon
They revealed writer?

I'm actually okay with Tomasi, but choosing him over King is ridiculous

>he doesn't have a completely heterosexual appreciation for the male physique
pleb

>Duke
>no Harper

W H Y

At least Harper was pretty

Lol cry harder

?

But this would've been written by King. And that is exactly why I'd want them both in this book. Snyder can do what ever he wants in ASB, like I care.

>At least Harper was pretty
You can't be serious. I'll take Duke over her any day.

From what it sounds like DC already had other plans with Damian and moving him off to bring iin Duke worked with what Snyder wanted to do. It didn't seem like King had much say in the actual decision. The Damian bit specifically.

Harper has been shit with everyone who's written her. Duke has only been shit when Snyder's written him.

His Dami was good in Grayson but I don't know if he would finally be able to make their dinamic work.

But I like Superman more then Batman. Also it's fucking Batman; sales will be in the top 10 regardless of actual quality for the foreseeable future so it doesn't need my dosh to succeed

>not having faith in based King

he can pull off the impossible

What are you talking about. Thats a shitty meme spouted by Damian haters. B&R was the best its been since Morrison under Gleason and Tomasi and that was all Bruce and Damian.

Guys I'm kinda new to King what's his essential reading?

Grayson
Omega Men
Vision

The problem is that no matter who the writer is, they ALWAYS make it look like Bruce only cares about Damian and doesn't consider Dick, Jason and Tim his sons.
B&R only became good when Damian came back, RSoB was miles better.

>my shitty meme xd

>not mentioning Sheriff of Babylon
For shame.

>and doesn't consider Dick, Jason and Tim his sons.

because they aren't in the New52
I mean, he barely knew them for 5 years

You are full of shit. The whole run was great. Tomasi's whole take on Damian being Bruce's only chance on letting his parents live was gold.

i feel like they've done a decent job showing Duke would be out heroing regardless

What these guys said.
Vision is especially good even if you're not into Marvel.

From mainstream to hipster
Grayson
Vision
Darkseid War: Green Lantern
Omega Men
Sheriff of Babylon
A Once Crowed Sky
His short stories in Time Warp and CMYK: Black
His two Harbinger Kindle Worlds prose short stories for true completionists

Not that user but the whole "The heroes have only been acting for 5 years" has been slowly reconnected.

There's no point in bringing sense into this

...

Not at all. Bruce repeatedly had heartfelt moments with Jason and Dick in B&R. Tim has ALWAYS been more of a protege than a son to Bruce.

I made an audio version of this if anyone's curious.

10/10
It's just like my chinese cartoons

I liked the channel 52 version of Calender Man

Channel 52 was a fun idea that no one ever utilized properly.

Everyone is technically new to him, since he's more-or-less a new writer.

Grayson is his oldest work, which he wrote with Tim Seeley. They share plotting credits on all of their combined issues, but if you want more pure King, he's the script writer on Grayson Futures End, #3, #5, #8, #9, #11, #12, #15, and #16. It's worth noticing how he handles dialogue, paneling, and pacing differently than Seeley.

His solo writing duties have been on:

* The Omega Men
* The Vision
* The Sheriff of Babylon
* Darkseid War: Green Lantern (one-shot)

Detective Comics #31 callback variant.

I like Janin' action scenes and paneling.
