Wonder Woman

Why is everyone making a big deal out of this movie as if it's the first to feature a strong independent woman?

>Alien
>Aliens
>Alien 3
>Every other Alien movie
>Halloween
>Nightmare on Elm Street
>Pretty much every fucking 80s horror movie ever
>Conan the Barbarian
>Once Upon a Time in the West
>Terminator
>T2
>The Abyss
>Assault on Prescint 13
>All sorts of classic noirs
>Chinatown

All pre-2000s, all off the top of my head. Even then, these are some pretty entry-level films that a majority of people have heard of. What makes pic related so special?

It is all staged.

No shit

Diversity, my friend. For you and me(People who actually gave a sit about movies), we have seen countless films with female protagonists to the point where we don't give a shit. But Sjws only like this stuff to seem hip. So marketers have treat every movie with a female protagonist like they just taught Nigerian schoolchildren how to read(When Alien came out, No one made a big deal out of it) So they can get easy $$$ and publicity.

*Gave a shit

where have you been for the last few years? this is a hot button issue. As well as the typical people who look for these issues in media because of some political bent, there are also those who know that this as a dog whistle will start publicity online or offline and keep it in the publics mind. thus potentially making it a bit more money in the box office somehow

None of those characters are strong role models for little girls.

>What makes pic related so special?

Capeshit is America's religion

>Ripley
>Not a strong role

Literally all those movies are from two decades ago...

Yeah. He said that.

Because it's a comic book movie and none of the comic movies we've seen have any actual female protagonist

also, she's a role model for kids

Ripley was fap material for 80s kids, no girl would actually watch an Alien movie because it was scary

And people don't fap to wonder woman?

Nah, he said it with the subtext of 'durrr look at all these old moviessss, they sure are rule instead of the exception'.
We all know thats bullshit.

It's annoying because they have to bring attention to it. a badass female character like Ripley is badass because the movie doesn't constantly mention her gender to the audience; it simply is what it is. Her actions speak towards her character.

what about star wars? Leia didn't take shit from nobody not even Vader. She murderd countless Stromtropers and choked a giant space slug to death. For decades nerds all over the world wanted to be with a girl like her. How come this is conveniently forgotten these days?
Are women actually to retarded to see a positive role model for 30+ years althoug it has been right in front of them the whole time?
And yet nobody talks about her being a strong women

This. Wonder Woman is the first solo female superhero movie in the capeshit era.

The last Hunger Games came out 2 years ago. The strong female protagonist part isn't important. It's that this is the first female *superhero* flick since the MCU launched and the first one directed by a woman. Catwoman, Elektra, notoriously shitty movies made by men. The Punisher War Zone was a low budget superhero directed by a woman, but WW actually cost a quarter billion to make and market. Patty Jenkins is more important than Wonder Woman herself, though this being her first ever movie is also special since Batman and Superman have each had over 6.

Is the movie going to have subtitles? I can't understand this bitch when she talks.

This

That's what the Major is for GitS. WW really has to try hard to push "first stand-alone big budget modern-era female protagonist super hero flick."
