Drew this friendly guy the other day. Just noticed now that he looks like Christopher Lloyd.

Just wondering if there are any decent vectoring apps for droid. Took a pic of a doodle I made onboard a ship a day or so back. But phones don't tend to allow decent line-art clean-up, or editing.

why don't people care about batman threads anymore?

I dunno, they were active as hell just a short while ago. Maybe everyone finished their stuff.

because he is a dick

poeple are growing up. adulthood equals stress. stress does not mix well with art.

either that or there is a max exodus of Sup Forums "talent"

Practicing on all kinda stuff. Muscles, angles, colours, you name it.

i rarely even know theyre going on, ops forgot to tagline it
id love if they were more active, but probably most of the people working on their art are posting in hywc

but no matter, come on guys, get that energy up, talk to each other more, ask questions, critique, and get shit done fuckers

Fairly pleased with this. It's just a random practice thing, nothing too serious.

Doing a little sequence with my characters.

Looks really good! I love their contrast in form.

the right leg looks off but i like it

I'm not sure how alien I should make this character. Right now her species is essentially green humans. Well externally at least.

made me chuckle

Almost done with this one drawing, It's missing a background, I'll be working on that before going to bed.

Developing a scifi setting too? good stuff, they look like a mix of Mass effects Asari and Star Wars Twi'lek, keep it up.

Love these.

May as well ask here.

I'm trying to figure out commission stuff on the business end of things. I know that Paypal is the standard method for transactions, but I have privacy concerns. From what I have heard, my name will be visible to those that make a purchase from me- which is something that I want to avoid at all costs. I know that business accounts exist, but this is not something that I'd want to take that far. At this point, it seems like the premier account is the way to go.

Is there any way to set up a Paypal so that my name is not given out? If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

I think I've seen your stuff before
got a blog?

I drew my D&D character recently.

bumping for interest

I want to draw Starco and/or something involving Ruby Gloom.

Anyone have any ideas?

Pretty sure you can set it up under a "business account" or something. I've gotten paid by people with a name like SuperKawaiiKittyChan Productions before

Triggered

Gee Thrak-Chik, how come your DM lets you have EIGHT ATTACKS?

A business account is something that I expressly wish to avoid.

Well I was recently drawing a lot of stuff as a test for an animation company, but I'm not sure if they'd want that posted or not, and the rest is NSFW, so... I dunno, here's a weird caricature I did when I was bored.

I'm currently working on this. I guess I'll water the whole thing after finishing, or the scanner is going to have a hard time getting the colors on the paper surface right. Damn, watercolor paper, I liked you, but apparently, my camera doesn't like you back.

Bump

Checked out Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain at the library. When I got to the part where you draw Stravinsky upside down, I'd already recognized it and decided to draw the closest suitable piece instead, which happened to be my Okami game case.

I think it turned out okay. Some parts better than others.

I'm expecting it to start up more now that pretty much everyone's on summer.

Been working on this lady tonight. I've actually already begun inking it, but her right (our left) foot is bugging me. A friend told me it's pointing too high up and too far inward, and the more I look at it, the more I agree and the more I want to fix it.

Can't seem to resolve the problem no matter how I fiddle with it though. The foreshortening just isn't agreeing with me. Must keep trying. Might also work on her left foot, or even her entire left leg, too.

the right foot is a little high, and it'd probably work better pointing outward
got my weiner pointing too high

breathe

>art block
>no idea what to work on/draw
>don't want to complete any piece as I'm not particularly satisfied with anything

Sucks hard. I have no clue how to improve for art. I'm in this ginormous rut, maybe I should do some poses, or read a book. Too bad I don't have one.

Anyways, here's some Anubis-jackal like character I've been sketching up.

You aint going anywhere batman, there is plenty of shit to get done on sunday, bump.

Listen to certain kinds of music, eatch certain kinds of films, look at certain artists that you know usually inspire you.
Do a bunch of random small doodles and sketches instead of focusing on pieces just to get the ball rolling.

Cookie-cutter response, sure, but it works almost all the time for me.

So I'm guessing there's not one, or not a good one, or everyone thought I was trolling or some other thing. That's cool, I guess.

Following this but going to be more specific with what I do: Look at art you really like that you want to do. I usually save a lot of art and categorize it by what type it is (Expressions, animals/creatures, pretty girls, illustrations, landscapes and environments) to help me get in the mood for "types of drawings". Like, if I'm really in the mood to draw gestures, I might look through my full-body folder.

Another thing is I'll just tell myself to draw one thing and do it over and over again. So I wanted to draw expressions of my characters, looked at a lot of Disney concept art while drawing it, then as I was drawing, would either think, "I could do this better" so I just did another drawing rather than fixing the old one. Or I would think about expressions in sequence, huffing and puffing or darting eyes back and forth. It's just a kind of way to keep yourself busy and not think in only terms of "Sad, happy, angry", just keep drawing expressions until I met my goal (Which was 50) or until you get bored of it.

If you enjoyed drawing that one thing over and over, you might keep doing it. If you're getting bored, your brain might naturally gravitate towards something you would rather draw instead and you'll have figured what you actually wanted to draw instead.

For other inspiration, I'll look at art and want to try to copy the coloring/inking style. I tried to show examples with pic attached. The poses on the bottom aren't exciting, they're all just standing around, but I was trying to use different brushes or programs for them.

So maybe for that Wolf character, draw 20 profile views or something. Or draw him in 10 different outfits, see if that ends up being fun for you. What would he look like in a suit, or in a black shirt, in a baggy shirt, or in a parka? Etc.

Stuck in the biggest of ruts. Maybe some dreams are meant to die OP...

Don't give up, user. Your art is worth it!

I have a Premier account. When I do commissions, I can create an invoice with a 'business name' connected to my commissioning email address (not my personal email address).

The only other option I can think of is to create a brand new pseudonymous PP account not connected to your main account.

So if I create invoices, commissioners have no way to see my name other than the email that I put in?

Bippity boppity bump

Yes, if you have several email addresses linked to your PP account, you can specify which one appears on an invoice, and what your 'business name' is.

bampu
i wish i still had a scanner
or a decent camera

why doesnt paypal allow porn?

Man, I absolutely suck at drawing architecture.

Don't ask me, it's in their Acceptable Use Policy:

>You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:
>violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation.
>relate to transactions involving ...
> (g) items that are considered obscene
> (h) items that infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, right of publicity or privacy or any other proprietary right under the laws of any jurisdiction
(There goes all your fan art commissions!)
> (i) certain sexually oriented materials or services

They aren't going to argue the niceties and particulars of why your art isn't technically actually smut from a certain philosophical point of view, they'll shut that shit down hard if they get wind of it, so learn to fly under their radar.

Same goes for claiming payments as 'gifts from friends/family' when it's actually a sale to a stranger. Render unto Paypal the things that are Paypals (ie give them their cut of the sale) and they won't get shirty about it.

Newb here. I would like to post my artwork here, since the semester ended and I can't ask my Life Drawing teacher for advice, but is traditional format (paper/pencil) allowed here?

Also, is all kinds of skill allowed here too?

I've been listening to a lot of Bowie lately. I wanna go over this on my tablet in photoshop. Any useful tips?

I do find art I want to emulate. The biggest thing I find myself doing however is discarding the idea entirely because I find myself drawing in the same angles/positions. Clothing does feel relevant right now so maybe I'll work on that.

blog?

trying to flesh out the main character for my junior film next year.
here are a bunch of doodles.
which one do you like best?

kek this is amazing

Y'all hear of this?

thanks, reported it asap. gotta keep those drive-by-advertisements in check.

I don't think you know what that word means.

>green human

here's an idea; run with that. you could have it so she's descended from humans who've lived on an alien planet for some time.

it's honestly more original than just making another humanoid alien.

mineralchicken.tumblr.com

I generally do drawthread garbage, but I've been doing some OCs for a game I've been working on. None of it's really posted tho, probably will fix it up so things are a bit more organized when I have free time.

I like the second top one on the the left side. But maybe saturate the face a bit.

Finally colored most of my characters but idk if i'm happy with the colors on the cyborgs yet.

Try using google's Sketch Up
It's like maya but like 10x easier to use

>really wants to draw
>don't feel like or don't have the creativity to draw cool stuff
>keep only drawing smut shit

What do? Not sure I can live like this.

Just make a living out of drawing smut

Do commissions.
Or stream your smut drawings for Patreon.
At least then you can get paid to do it.

I'm in a sort of similar position, where I want to do more original art for my public gallery but end up drawing for my niche interest/fan art gallery.

Wow, these are really good. I'd watch that show.

Thanks user glad to hear it! I'm trying to make a pitch bible out of this so any feed back is good.

WIP on the guards atm

Im pretty shit stil IMO. Im willing to fill some requests here, if anyones interested.

give 'er the 'ol page 10 bump

In and out.

omg....i love the fish....so cuuute...

Thanks! Funny thing is that he's called "Fish"

...

And again.

atleast it's recognizable as a building

everything's allowed

update: his name is smooch boy

Reminds me of Bea from Space Dandy

I KNEW he reminded me of someone, thanks for putting a name to it!

don't you die on me

All my attempts at traditionally rendered backgrounds fell flat, sadly there's only so much time I can put in a single artwork, so I'm moving on.

Its ok familia, did you have a perspective grid?, it will make things way easier.

Tried making a character

I...think I ship your characters together.

yeah these are real solid designs, friend.

I recently switched to an online format and attempting to make a portrait or at least token for every single goddamn NPC I introduce and maps in addition to normal DM stuff is killing me swiftly and yet painfully.

I don't think that lettering/psuedo-calligraphy is what these threads are really meant for, but I don't want to just keep bumping it without putting out at least something.

Lettering practice for a promo pic I'm tossing around in my head; I think some letters came out better than others as I kept going. It's meant to be in the vein of Lombardic or Versal lettering. Any advice welcome, particularly on the "L"s.

I've been working on and off on a webcomic series i started writing for some time around 2015, the pages are still in production and I'm hoping to make updates twice a week sometimes before the year ends. I have a folder full of pre-production and character design work I would like to share with you, to help me get a better idea of what my target audience would consider "worth reading."

additional notes: regardless of whatever critique i will be receiving -- it's the internet -- i will still publish, produce, and continue in my dreams of sharing my work with the public.

One of the many characters that will be featured.

meow meow kitty time

Your art has potential. I'm interested in seeing what your work would look like a few years down the line.

>How are you progressing with your projects, Anons?

Drawing for other people is suffering and I'm too depressed to meet half my deadlines. I hope I can get off my ass soon and make something halfway decent before throwing myself into a ditch. I'm too afraid to make something bad. A stupid fear, I know.

>How are you progressing with your projects, Anons? Going good? Stuck in a rut?

I haven't really drawn anything of mention in a month and it's eating away at me.
The last thing I drew was some stickers and this (pic related) safari zone pokemon print for a comic con I attended with my fellow artist friend.

There's so many things that I want to draw, but my confidence and motivation has just evaporated.

And I'm in that point in my life with no school and no responsibilities: so if I don't do anything nothing happens and time will just slip away from me.

It feels almost as though I have no idea "how to work" and my illustrating skills seemingly held ransom by my lazy fucking whims.
I want to be a work horse; I want to be productive, I want to be focused, I want to produce lots and lots of stuff.

How do I force myself to work?

I understand what it means to be paralyzed mentally by your own fears and worried about your personal projects. It takes a lot of dedication, time, and money set aside to ensure that what you're doing is the right thing.

But you also gotta BELIEVE in yourself, this is so important in both practice and in professional pursuits. Depression has already taken away from me about a decade's worth of work from me already -- and while people like myself will always struggle with depression and feelings of inadequacy, it cannot define who we are as a whole.

good luck to you.

Working on something that is going nowhere. I have some character designs down after settling on a 70s Hanna-Barbera Aesthetic, a location and a main character theme in mind. The actual writings for the story leave something to be desired.

here's a bear, they are nice.

This is a style study of the main character. His personality is that of a caged bird just gaining freedom in a world where the gravity is lighter the colors are brighter and the sun shines eternally. I'm trying to come up with characters and concepts of people who would want to send him away or put that feeling in jeopardy.

I'm going for a 70s Future Retro kind of feeling. Technology exists, but with more emphasis on the wooden paneling and push button technology.

I like this, but in the sense that it reminds me of an adult, humanoid, better proportioned tamagotchi.
What do you want to do with 'im?

These look really, really good, but they remind me too much of that generic cartoon network aesthetic I can't quite pin down at the moment.

just for giggles

Soo... what happened to the donut steel threads? I haven't seen one in a while...

go on make it then

Don't think they're particularly necessary to have donut steel and this in my opinion, especially since the existence of one generally means death for the other.

Also deer man.

Designing characters for thing.
