It makes perfect sense to me. Who makes up a large portion of the audience for Scrubs, or indeed any sitcom like this? Women. Middle/lower class women, many of whom are nurses (an overwhelmingly female profession, of course) or are friends with nurses. None of them are friends with doctors.The writers are just playing to their audience.

Absolutely comfy first watch, kind of bad second watch. Didn't even go to season 9 after the first watch.
Agreed. Not that it was a bad thing that they got together, it's just that it was already like season 3(?) and it seemed like a huge plot point was resolved. After that it felt like the show just got stretched out.
It's really good, but it has the same issue Scrubs has where by the last few seasons it just feels like its droning on.
