Hank Pym became Wasp

Hank Pym.

In Avatar, yea. Korra took on Aang's legacy. He was a decent water bending Avatar for some time.

>TFW you will NEVER have a sassy twink Power Girl

That's a female character taken on a male legacy.

That happens all the time. It's almost cliche.

Aang is a male? Korra is a female?

Odd. Never knew this.

That's a technicality, really, but I suppose you're not wrong.

Didn't Guardian and Vindicator from Alpha Flight switch names?

Phoenix 5, on a technicality.

She-Zow.

Problem is there are relatively few female characters and most of them are legacy characters of some kind. Writers and publishers are understandably reluctant to erase the handful of charcters they could do that with

Marvel insider here.

He-She-Hulk is coming out after Civil War II when Jen dies.

>Problem is there are relatively few female characters
I call bullshit.

Kill me to bring back She-Hulk

>Women were substantially underrepresented among characters with at least one appearance. Among the characters for which we have gender data,12 females made up only 29.3 percent of the DC character list and 24.7 percent of the Marvel roster.

>The same trend bears out when we look at characters with higher appearance counts. When we zero in on the 2,415 DC and 3,342 Marvel characters with gender data who appear at least 10 times — the set of characters that probably gives the most consistent view of what we see on the page — female characters make up only 30.9 percent of the DC universe and 30.6 percent of the Marvel universe.
According to

So yeah not none but relatively few especially when you consider those numbers include a lot of girlfriends and kids sisters and other background charecters

damn i loved Wizards

i mean its definitely not Bakshi's best and sometimes it looks dreadful but i love the story and the voice acting and every physical gag

pic very related, i want to see them fuck

think im gonna go watch that film right now on vhs

only answer off the top of my head

>pic very related, i want to see them fuck
Don't they hook up at the end of the film?

Gonna be some weird babies.

>And yet, comic book convention attendance breaks close to even between genders
I bet she is talking about Casual Con, the women are there to see the big bang theory panel, because lol nerds amirigt.

It's going to be pretty funny if in like 5 years something random like country music becomes the trend du jour for women that are impressionable and prone to fads (re: all of them). Then they'll forget the gender wars in nerd hobbies and make gender wars in country music, and seek out to destroy the hick male power structure.

Does a bunch of men inheriting the phoenix force count? I mean its not technically a female power but it was always synonymous with jean gray.

More importantly as far as comic publishers are concerned around 37% of people actually buying their product are female

I think you've hit upon something there...

gonna be some SEXY babies

i wanna watch though

no r34 on this shit

Wow, that's progress. The last number I heard of was 10% of the market, that was way back in the '90s.

Bonus question, if we were to see a male character take over from a female one who would you pick?

I'd go with Storm

>mfw the character is called Stormlord

That'd be rad.

I think you could have a black canary successor named after a masculine bird, too.

>QT boi gains super slut powers from his sexy aunt
>It's shit

Such wasted potential.

Black Widow

>seek out to destroy the hick male power structure

They won't. Video games aren't even all that popular in terms of media. I mean, sports are horrible "offenders" of feminist doctrine, but you never really hear much about cheerleaders and such these days anymore.

They chose video games because it's bait for "betas" and yes-men and white-knight types, as well as relatively smaller, more impressionable companies then big ones like in sports, cinema, music, etc. They can much more easily gain influence in the video game industry, and can then gain public notoriety through it, not treating video games as a stepping stone, but treating it as a conquered country, to continue enforcing the law so that it may remain under rule of the conquerors.

But honestly, they just have delusions of grandeur. They really haven't made -that- much of an impact in the industry, and as the trend that they are, they will eventually fade into the background.

Technically the Avatar is the same person reincarnated and technically not a legacy character.

True. But it's still a strong black lesbian taking over the role of a patriarchal white man.

>family guy reaction pics

disgusting. Sup Forums has fallen.

OHHH! Golden Age Red Tornado was a woman!

Really? Storm? But she has a whole maybe goddess Earth-mother thing going on, how does that work with a dude who's not Thor?

Anyway, (wow, so many are copies of male heroes) I'd go with Elektra, because there's far too many red ninja dudes who have no game. You would think this was at least one ninja-guy bad-ass in the Hand, but who do we have? Cannonfodder?
Bonus: they bring Hand goons back from the dead all the time so it won't be like replacement dude Natchios will be a replacement forever, in case things don't work out.

I think maybe hawk an dove?

I was gonna say "Blackhawk" but that's taken.

Lestat and Claudia took over for the brides of Dracula and Marya Zaleska, and Dracula is Sup Forums related a hundred times over in various cartoons and comics.

>thinking thats family guy

>Pic unrelated. Thankfully.
>not wanting to see a at twink in that outfit

Powergirl kind of had Powerboy, kind of...

Invisible Woman
Rogue
Spectrum
Silver Sable
Firestar
Bulleteer

but...
but...
but...
I've been hearing for YEARS that half of the comic book readers are females. just like half of the gamers population are females. why would those unquestionable statistics lie to us?

>Not enjoying Shezow for exactly that
Nigga you a picky motherfucker aren't you.

Thor.

Not sure if this counts, but Airrazor from Beast Wars.

The 'murricans and Canajuns made Beast Wars so the writing style of Japan was absent, most importantly the fact that it was borderline taboo to even have a female character in an action cartoon geared for younger children because it was seen as something that would make little boys lose interest. The Japanese team was translating as fast as episodes were being released, and were only an episode behind each week.

So when they translated Beast Wars to Japanese, they changed every female other than Blackarachnea to a male. That includes Airrazor. In the American version, Airrazor and Tigertron are romantically involved and have a lot of flirting. The Japanese version turned this into a sempai/student relationship with Airrazor being Tigertron's #1 fan. Then came the episode where Airrazor confesses her feelings, and they kiss. The Japanese were caught with a really hard decision of having a robot underage boy fall in love with his samurai master, or heavily edit it and hope the Americans don't do an episode with half the run time being gone.
The Japanese decided to double down, and actually had shota Airrazor crave the old man tiger robot dick.

Come the next season, they suddenly pretended Airrazor was actually a girl all along. But technically in one country a male character replaced a female one.

restrain yourself sir
I have issue with your post but you dare not test the power of the ban.
Some of our compatriots would label you an agitator and condemn you as a heretic.

either way they're underrepresented.

kind of how latinos go see more movies at the theater relative to their population than any other ethnicity, yet Luis is all we've got going in the MCU.

>either way they're underrepresented.
not really. maybe in the past. now they're almost over represented.

just like fags.

Is this true?
Because this is hilarious.
Sounds like some bizarre payback for all those anime boys I thought were girls as a kid.
both of them

It is.
Shit, Arcee was created for Transformers when the Japanese team got sick of people asking where the girl Transformers are that they made a joke comic that was passed around within the company about a girl Transformer cooking for the men then getting her period and killing Optimus The American team saw it and was horrified at the PR nightmare if it got out, but then someone realized that there might be a market for it so she was put in the movie, which is the only reason the idea of female Transformers and transexuality or robot sexual reproduction is a thing in Transformers continuity now.

Japanese executives tend to see girls as something boys have less than no interest in until they're into hentai, which caused Miyazaki headaches while working on Nausicaä. Its more relaxed now, but it was just an unofficial rule to keep females to exposition delivery or non-present until the 90's. Even today though, the only female in an action cartoon that gets to be part of the action has to have a male partner who is equal or more prominent like it takes place in Pakistan. That's the only way Ash's female companions get into the show on Pokemon for example.

Fuck off, there were female transformers before arcee

Family Guy is better.

>now they're almost over represented.

you must be bad at math family

But if the show was even halfway decent it would've ran for longer and we would've gotten more porn.

But the plots, the characters and the animation is atrocious. Literally the only good thing about it was the concept and Shezow's costume.

>Literally the only good thing about it was the concept and Shezow's costume.
But user isn't that what comic books do?

What about He-man and She-ra? Wasn't she more popular?

I feel like Bakshi was feeling old so he wrote himself into a hero role with a hot lusty woman as his girlfriend

Yeah but neither of them replaced the other. That's like saying Hulk and She-Hulk are valid answers.

Characters that sort of fit the bill:
John Constantine (after Johanna Constantine)
Hank Pym as Wasp (after Janet van Dyne)
Clint Barton and Blade as Ronin
Gareth Mallory as M in the Bond films

well, there was thrillkiller, where barbra gordon was batgirl first, and in the sequel bruce wayne becomes HER sidekick, but that's an elseworlds so it doesn't really count

Dagwood replaced Blondie as the star of the comic "Blondie".

Batman took over Batwoman's legacy

Wonder Woman, just to see reactions to the whole thing.

>WW was actually a man all along!
>"Woman" in my culture means "Warrior".
>This is the traditional battle armor, I just tucked.

>Never heard of the Dirty Pair
>Bubblegum Crisis
>Gun buster

There have always been plenty of action anime starring girls without being lewd

God you are stupid

Those wacky Japs. This reminds me a lot of the Poison/Final Fight fiasco.

How would you do a story like shezow but make it actually good?

As in a male character taking on the mantle and costume of an extremely feminine superhero.

>gonna be some SEXY babies

Pretty much, people forget that in the prologue, younger Avatar was actually quite handsome for a dwarfish wizard.

Sauce

I imagine women would fight for his attention during his younger days, no wonder that fairy gal was thirsty for him.

Chris Kent becoming Firebird?

I can name dozens from DC that's the opposite but can't really think of a male taking over a Heroines' legacy. Guess it's just done much.

>female emulates male
She's strong and heroic
>male emulates female
Pervert weirdo

That's how it is

Genis-Vell... kinda, twice

>He-She Hulk
This could prove to be faptastic if they make him a trap or make it a trans guy who's wishes are fulfilled when Jen Walters get stuck in his body some how and he hulks into a woman.

Kind of like what you have there. A heroine's powers come from being being overly revealing but she is shamed out of the business for acting like a slut and being a bad role model. Then, she passes on the mantle to a guy and he super sluts it up and takes advantage of the double standard. Later on, it's revealed that The villain of the series is the original hero trying to highlight the double standard that the new hero represents.

And the unbearable puns.

I'm pretty sure there's a magical boy anime already.

We need more husbandobait characters. Why do women have to be sexy and men can look like shit? This wasn't the case before the French Revolution. Bring sexy men back

You can bet!

What do you consider as sexy for men? Big muscular guys or skinny effeminate ones?

I'm sure we can afford to have both.

Or maybe the womanizer one.

Isn't Sitwell Latino as well?

And plus, who the hell cares about represenation unironically?

Best outfit design, too

Wizards you dingle berry, it's been mentioned in the thread like 5 times

I wasn't expecting to see so much Selim Bradley porn... I never thought about him in a lewd way before...

Jesus christ, she didn't wear that in public did she? Anyone who got too close could look down into her snatch.

Diana is getting a twin brother named Jason as part of Rebirth. He could always end up being Wonder Man, but then there's the whole, y'know, trademark issue.

On the 1% chance this isn't an obvious troll/bait, the person in that pic has a dick

Whoops. Sorry user, it's 2am and I'm on my phone. It just looks like a terrible fit from here, also my knockout pills are kicking in. Got a name? As a dickgirl myself, I'm interested in seeing her cosplaying.

Male Huntress, named Huntressman
Or maybe Huntresser

Why not just....the Hunter or Huntsman?

To point out how absurdly stupid it is to add -woman, -girl, or -ess to a male hero's name when making a woman hero.

Nice try, but it doesn't work that way.

What the fuck did you just introduce me to?

There is a pretty big one, though technical in DC canon. They own the rights to 'Ma Hunkel' who was a burly matron lady from a comic called Scribbly. She beat the almighty shit out of gangsters in a homemade hero costume made from long johns and a kettle helmet; went by the name of Red Tornado.

She appeared at least a few times in more modern DC books, makin the robot RT who is ... kinda male an inheritor of her legacy.

Ahhhhh! You got trapped too, huh? Enjoy your 12 eps!

Right here.
