The hate is the plot. The movie has great style, the signature Mann feel to it, great music, but the plot is just not very entertaining

the whole plot is just convoluted. That and Collin Ferrel and Jamie Foxx have no chemistry -- they talk to each other for like one scene the entire movie.
I still enjoy watching it tho.
