Two flying supertanks, the ultimate lifeform with a weapon more powerful than gods, a supergenius master fighter with hyper tech, and Spider-Man vs a team of mostly normal guys with gimmicky "weapons."
Scarlet Witch and Ant-Man were the only guys on that team worth the time of day.
The only one actually trying to kill the other side was KANGZ, everyone else didn't want to hurt the people they had grown close too or was Spider-Man.
Vision literally could not care less about Tony Stark's side. He was only there maintain the peace basically.
Same with Black Widow who was not even on Tony's side
Vision was only there to keep the peace, not to win. Spiderman was an inexperienced kid who Tony told to keep away and just spray the opponents, and Scarlet Witch could only take Flint really. That and Scarlet Witch kept saving her side.

If Wanda and Scott weren't humoring the opposition by standing around and playing defense they'd have ripped the tanks out of their tin suits, put Vision 6 feet under again and knocked T'Challa and Natasha around like ragdolls and there isn't shit they could do about it. And that's if they wanted to play rough but nice.
If anything it's because Cap was trying to escape to the real big boss that they got off easy. Wanda was shown tearing Ultron's Vibranium apart in AoU, she could tear everyone else in half, including Vision and T'Challa, just as easily. What exactly could they do to stop that?

With Cap, even the shittiest Avenger becomes decent.
Well it's true. They weren't. They weren't there to brutally slaugther Cap's team they were there to arrest them, otherwise Ironman and War Machine would have carpet bombed the airport and Vision would have melted anything left.
But then they'd all be dead, which is not what Tony wanted to do.
Spider-Man has just 6 months experience and it's catching cars and stopping muggings. No one over powered him, they just out smarted him in terms of battle strategy. He still got to come up with the idea to take Ant-Man down. Spider-Man was exactly what he should have been.
Wanda could have killed all of them, Vision included, if it really came down to it. Bucky and Cap aren't even remotely "mostly normal guys", Cap curls a fucking helicopter and Bucky is shown to be about as strong as him. Scott has a gimmick, but it's a hilariously physics-breaking gimmick. Hawkeye and Black Widow have more sheer fighting skills than anyone else in the conflict except Cap and Bucky.
