Intelligent Comedy Cartoons

What's it gonna take for intelligent comedy cartoons to make a combeback, /co?

Do they just have to move to Netflix?

I'd like to make one someday but with the way the industry is now I'm losing hope..

bump

This thread was made many many time before.

The answer is: fucking nostalgiafags.

Bojack Horseman? Rick and Morty?

Funding, or desperate animators on a limited budget.
Maybe a lack of censors.

Tiny Toons is like the fucking opposite of intelligent.

Just a bunch of references to better things.

This. I like tiny toons for what it is, but it was just DUDE THE 90S LMAO.

>intelligent comedy cartoons
>Lots references to celebrities
>Warner brothers sucking their own dick
>puns and slapstick

i love Tiiny Toons, but if you think this is intelligent comedy, you may be less intelligent than you think

Also, bojack horseman is already on netflix

Sonic is cheesy 80's action, but never did anything too low

No, those were stupid (R&M was still better then SU however).
Tiny Toons was on a huge budget when TMS & Startoons were doing it.
>I love Tiiny Toons, but if you think this is intelligent comedy, you may be less intelligent than you think.
That is intelligent, please seek help.

No it's not. It's not bad or wrong making something cliche and safe. But you still can't call it "smart" just because you like it.

Make a fucking point

Yes it is.

You're delusional, please seek help.

>Make a fucking point
>NO U

I should have suspected your mental age when you defended Rick and Morty and brought SU from nowhere

>Rick and Morty
You just /threaded the thread.

It's still stupid regardless by industry standers.

>No, those were stupid

Okay I don't even watch Bojack Horseman or Rick and Morty but you can't just call them stupid and leave it at that. Explain why you don't consider them intelligent comedy because without doing so you come off as a close-minded nostalgiafag.

Invader Zim was not intelligent enough for you?

Man you're usually a bit more subtle than that Faggicom.
And that's saying a lot since you're not subtle at all.

Why does everyone forget the Venture Bros?

I mean I know it comes sparingly but still.

Tiny Toons was leagues smarter.

He is not a homosexual.

How would you know?

That is true, but enough going off topic.

...

Cartoons like Tiny Toons, Freakazoid, and Animaniacs were more loved by adults than they were children. To the executives who paid to have these cartoons made, this was a nightmare. The only reason they aired cartoons at all was to sell toys and diabetes-laden snack foods to children. If more adults are watching than kids, execs figure they're not making their sponsors happy. So, they stopped making them.

There's a reason why every cartoon today is centered around some autistic kid. Because that's the precise audience they're targeting.

Netflix will put a stop to that, even Nick is abracing it's adult market now.
