What liberals fail to understand is that minimum wage is for their voters in general.
We are looking to make jobs that pay above whatever the minimum is. Theoretically, it would be cool to lower the minimum wage while retaining the high payment of the tariff jobs that will spring up.
This would further separate the Middle and Wage classes.

This is absolutely wrong. Minimum wages are essentially a price floor on labor. People whose labor that is not worth the minimum wage (people who quit frequently, more risky, no experience, possible criminal records) will be forced to compete against people who are worth the minimum wage and they will not get hired. The idea that you'll somehow get more money for the government to steal without creating any wealth is preposterous. What happens is that businesses will increase the prices of their goods (thus reducing the spending money of the working class), employ less people (because higher prices reduce quantity demanded), or will lower the amount of hours people work (negating the minimum wage increase).

This is absolutely wrong. Tariffs make costs of resources more expensive, as it creates a barrier for international trade which could possibly be cheaper. This means that people in the country will have to spend more for those same goods. Tariffs also hurt the home country by reducing the demand for domestic goods, as other countries have less to spend on, which in turn hurts the jobs that manufacture goods we export. That's not to say I'm defending the TPP, it's not a free trade deal anyways.
