Is there a better action movie of the 90's than Terminator 2?

Is there a better action movie of the 90's than Terminator 2?

I think it might be my favorite action movie in general.

Escape from Cyberdyne.

There are movies with better action scenes shooting wise like Heat, but nah T2 is definitely my favorite. Plus it captures that early 90s California feel perfectly, very nostalgic

overrated shit

I bet you're a John Wick kind of guy. Now that is some OVERRATED shit user

Give me some better movies to watch.

fuck off young redditfag

So you think T2 was the best action movie too?

Terminator 1 is better

My nigga

t2 fucking sucks and i wish you redditors would fuck off of this board. it's a shit action flick. the fucking terminator, THE TERMINATOR, HE'S CALLED THE FUCKING TERMINATOR AND HE DOESN'T EVEN TERMINATE ANYONE. garbage!

Yeah, The Matrix.

It is, but more of a thriller than it is an action movie.

Serious? Starship Troopers shits all over T2

>There are movies with better action scenes shooting wise like Heat,
We both know youre lying

this

All Arnie movies are action-kino.

The bad guy is also a terminator and he terminates a lot. Arnie was reprogramed.

You fucking idiot

I wanted to see EXACTLY this scene but couldnt find a short clip of it anywhere and you just post it.

you are welcome

So many badass scenes in the movie.

imagine the amount od cgi and the number of cuts if this scene was to be recreated nowadays

I prefer not. Jesus fuck, Emilia "babyface" Clarke as Sarah Connor... and Jason "I can't keep my mouth closed" Clarke as John Connor.

>Is there a better action movie of the 90's than Terminator 2?

No, it's the perfect 90's action movie.

/thread

>made over 20 years ago
>still better CGI that 99% of current movies
fucking why?

Better how? CGI is way more advanced today than back then... but they used the CGI much more appropriatley in T2.

is be a contrarian so nice?

watch the scene where the t1000 comes out of the floor

Terminator 2 is best action movie, I watched it so many times
spot on user, you right.
It's good but not better. special effects are not that good compared to T2.
This movie still stands in today's standards

Heat is great and all, but a movie about a robot and a kid who sucks at acting, managed to be far more emotionally engaging than Heat ever will be.

>helicopter take over scene
name one scene from any other movie that can top this

Last Action Hero might be one of the best action films of all time.

T2 is fun but it kinda ruins everything that was great about T1. Dystopic setting, feel of real threat and an underlying message are now funny quips, annoying kids and epic action scenes. Its good and enternaining but it lacks soul.

Best two action films are Matrix and Die Hard btw

Terminator 2 is my go-to action movie of all time.
Die Hard comes close.
Robocop and Predator are alright also.

Don't be an asshole, you know that is an extremely difficult challange.

Rubber baby buggie bumpers!

fuck it Terminator 3 is good too,
action scenes might be even better
youtube.com/watch?v=Sb_uw2KbPUo&ab_channel=MrJasonWell

Also I like the "jokes" they put in the fight scenes

>Terminator 3 is good too

I felt insulted by this movie

There were a lot (I mean A LOT) of great action movies int he 90s. Some of them are equal to T2.

The ones that are better (of the top of my head):

Hard Boiled
Point Break
The Last Boyscout
Speed
Goldeneye

>Goldeneye
>better action movie than Terminator 2

Essentially this is the 90's Apocalypse Now or Gone with the Wind, it encapsulates the time period perfectly and will forever be remembered as a perfect film

>ywn experience arnie in his prime again

McTiernan > Cameron

DH3 is the absolute pinnacle of action filmmaking. I could rewatch it everyday and still be entertained. The non-stop pacing, the visual texture and cinematography, the wit and playfulness, the charisma, the music, the crescendo rhythm, the portrayal of NY, etc etc. the work of a true master.

T2 is objectively perfect but that's the problem I have with it and post-90's Cameron in general, he's so diplomatic and he knows exactly what the audiences want and gives it to them, the results are perfect but a bit soulless films. McTiernan was more of a maverick, more surprising, more innovative and uncompromising, but also more discreet and elegant. They were rivals back then and now Cameron is the king of Hollywood and McT is blacklisted and forgotten. Two very different spirits and approaches to filmmaking.

Heat

youtube.com/watch?v=3tI1pu5rfZw

Yes.

youtube.com/watch?v=UHl6yPL0800

>this is what user actually believes

Yes.

Cry more.

You had one fucking job. The tank scene. You could have won

>The Last Boyscout

is fucking amazing and very underrated

T1 is a great horror sci-fi.

T2 is a good action family movie.

My 90's action Kino are T2 and Die Hard 3

This is why Terminator movies are the best, because the robots can have top accuracy and do crazy shit and it will still be believable because they are machines.
This is what makes Terminator movies so good for me.

There is no bullshits parts because they are machines

It still stands up today, probably the greatest action movie of all time all things considered.

I rewatched it recently. Dialogs are cringy as fuck desu

This guy is right

???

You think Terminator is realistic? You think Edward Furlong's character was realistic in any shape or form?

You're cringy as fuck.

I like Robocop more, the satirical angle, the violence, more cynical outlook overall make it better for me.

fuck, Robocop is 80s, I'm stupid

>tfw nobody remembers the kino Eastwood/Sheen/Julia movie The Rookie

>tfw kids think the great movie Backdraft is "bad"

>tfw The Hard Way isn't in most people's Top 10 like it should be

>tfw people think T2 is better than Ricochet

The 90s were based. Based!

>tfw nobody remembers the kino Eastwood/Sheen/Julia movie The Rookie
I do. It is absolutely great
>tfw people think T2 is better than Ricochet
I do. It is absolutely shit

This.

James Cameron is one of those few directors that understands how to use effects perfectly. When it comes to T2 it half of the time when you think it is CGI.... it is actually practical effects and are seamlessly combined with CGI.

Best action movie of the 90s was Run with Patrick Dempsey.

youtube.com/watch?v=C1QhIvsUP_o

2nd place goes to Rapid Fire with Brandon Lee.

youtube.com/watch?v=Sk7E8Crwtdo

youtube.com/watch?v=AObzrCwAga8

It's great.

>James Cameron is one of those few directors that understands how to use effects perfectly. When it comes to T2 it half of the time when you think it is CGI.... it is actually practical effects and are seamlessly combined with CGI.
>AVATAR

That's not the right 90s Lee

youtube.com/watch?v=nsfPUfkVp7M

Shannon Lee was better and she quit acting before, you know, DYING.

>AVATAR
It was CGI?

>no The Rock
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU MAN?

youtube.com/watch?v=bq3_U_YD5ow

if you think this is cringy and you dont like this scene you dont like action movies

The Rock was 90s? I could have sworn it was 2000/2001.

Fuck me. You're right.

Also, the first Bad Boys was good. Really good.

>half the movie is trying to get Sean Connery on board the mission
>turns out he wasn't even trying to escape

I loved that.
