>Xavier is supposed to be 51 in this >Magneto is supposed to be 53 >Beast and Havok are supposed to be close to, if not already, 40 >Havok and Cyclops can somehow be brothers despite a two decade gap Sure I can't be the only one bothered by the giant time jumps the new X-men movie has taken.
If it's 1993 in the next one and they're still using the same actors, how the fuck are they suddenly going to look like they all aged 30 years like 7 years later?
>how the fuck are they suddenly going to look like they all aged 30 years like 7 years later
Simple, mutants age slower after reaching adulthood, at 1,5 the rate of humans, blah blah blah bullshit
Charles Powell
So mutants are asian women?
Carson Jackson
They really should have just justified them being younger due to DOFP time shenanigans.
Dominic Brown
>Havok and Cyclops can somehow be brothers despite a two decade gap
My girlfriend has a sister 17 years older than her. It's not really impossible at all. Simple answer. The Summers thought they were too old to have kids and Havoc was a mistake.
>how the fuck are they suddenly going to look like they all aged 30 years like 7 years later? Moisturizer
Asher Hall
I just want Xavier and magneto to kiss
John Clark
I pay it as much heed as when they mention Black Widow was a 29 year old KGB agent. The KGB didn't even operate anymore by the time she would've been old enough to do anything useful for them. Just go with it.
Blake Lopez
Do I>tfw fassy and McAvoy were on board with making it 10x gayer >tfw fox said no
Jeremiah Gonzalez
>Havok and Cyclops can somehow be brothers despite a two decade gap
Not too weird, I have a sister who's 20 years younger than me.
Gabriel Green
or maybe asians are mutants all along.
Cooper James
Yeah the 10 year time jumps between movies is pretty jarring when they use the same actors through all of them. I just treated it like the sliding timescale approach applies to the movies as well.
Caleb Cook
>At 1,5 So 50% faster?
Sebastian Bennett
>>Xavier is supposed to be 51 in this you sure? he was like 20 in first class, which was in 63 so he'd be like 40 and magneto was a kidin 1944 in the concentrationcamp ( I forget how old he was exactly tho)
Easton Morris
And Moira?
Joshua Gonzalez
Maybe she's just like Marisa Tomei.
Lucas Scott
He just got his doctorate in First Class. 31 is too old, 20 is too young.
Austin Gutierrez
>Havok and Cyclops can somehow be brothers despite a two decade gap
What's unusual about that? If Pa Summers knocked up Ma Summers when they were still teens, producing Alex, they'd still be in their thirties by the time Alex was grown and could easily have another (whether they meant to or not). It's basically the same dynamic that allowed Peter Parker to have an ancient aunt.
>how the fuck are they suddenly going to look like they all aged 30 years like 7 years later?
That's just a problem of people today largely looking younger than people of previous generations at the same age. If you were to age James McAvoy seventeen years, he'd be only five years younger than Patrick Stewart was when he first filmed for Professor X (and, since they share the same two year age gap with their costar, the same would go for Michael Fassbender & Ian McKellan).
Isaac Murphy
>and magneto was a kidin 1944 in the concentrationcamp ( I forget how old he was exactly tho) Depends on which movie. He was clearly a child in the first movie's flashback, but in First Class he looks like he's 13-14.
Adrian Cruz
>Black Widow was a 29 year old KGB agent. The KGB didn't even operate anymore by the time she would've been old enough to do anything useful for them. >Just go with it. Black Widow is a super soldier with peak physical attributes and slow aging.
Tyler Ward
>1,5 >,
Michael Robinson
The First Class credits say Kid Xavier was 12 in 1944.
Isaiah Wilson
I haven't seen this yet but I know at the end of Days of Future Past they fucked everything up by making everyone 20 years older than they were supposed to be.
Asher Lee
Why did they have Quicksilver still living in his mom's basement?
Connor Smith
He's waiting for the Internet and Sup Forums to come along.
Zachary Taylor
>how the fuck are they suddenly going to look like they all aged 30 years like 7 years later
They've sorted that with Xavier already. Bald guys don't look much different a decade or two later.
Matthew Russell
Ant Man actor is 47. Whats your point?
Gavin Gomez
They're treating it like a comic book and not caring.
The right way to treat it, by the way.
Christian Long
so the MCU has been doing it wrong this whole time?
Aaron Sanchez
Yes? Unless you're just a huge fan of homogeneity and 'continuity' being more important than telling a story or using a particular setting.
Matthew Nguyen
where?
Wyatt Butler
Not in the movies she isn't.
Jace Evans
>7 years later The original X-Men was actually set in 2005 according to the script and some of the design documents.
Hudson Johnson
They've never said she isn't. Just never explicitly said she is.
Xavier Reyes
In the comics, teenage Scott Summers from the 1960's is in current day 2015.
His older self, who never traveled through time, is about 30 in 2015.
It doesn't matter.
Jayden Garcia
It's funny that you don't realize how autistic of a complaint this is.
Did you want them to recast the actors? Contracts say no.
Should they be caked with makeup to look like old. people? Hollywood common sense says no.
>'continuity' being more important than telling a story where have i heard this before
Jaxon Jackson
probably from someone who hates fun
Brayden Long
They could set the movies closer together
Adam Flores
>The KGB didn't even operate anymore by the time she would've been old enough to do anything useful for them.
This is a fantasy universe with Hydra agents and russian Super-Kill soldiers and flying Aircraft Carriers. The Middle East is in turmoil because of the 10 rings. The Nazis had atomic space bombs.
Why couldn't the Soviet Union held on for longer before collapsing in the MCU? It's not as if non-Soviet Russia has been behaving much differently since then?
Jacob Carter
There's no hurt if these movies were set up with 3-4 years gap.
what vidya will Quicksilver play in the 90s, since he played Pong and Ms. Pac Man
Jordan Watson
Mario Bros or Mario 64 depending on how late into the decade it is
Andrew Green
31 is pretty average for a PhD, actually
Levi Butler
i would really hope this theme shows up somehow in the next X-Men movie, since it'll be in the 90s
Alexander Wood
Her DoB in the MCU is the same as ScarJo's IRL.
Josiah Phillips
>everyone lied about Jubilee dying I was pretty happy
Robert Butler
They seem to plop these stories down right in the middle of the decades, but I'm sure if there's a specific iconic '90s event that's later along they'll move there timetable to work it in. (I half think they picked that '80s year just to do that StarWars irony joke.)
Colton Parker
This is one reason why Sup Forums can be more evil than good: The LIES.
Dylan Lopez
mid 90s, so most likely Sonic the Hedgehog
Charles Nelson
>and Havoc was a mistake.
>first son was a handful >really hard to raise in 1950's >turns out he is a god damn mutie >just wanted to be loving parents >want to have more children, so hard >lose son as he hangs out with that xavier guy >decide to risk it, have another kid >oldest son gets sent to vietnam, so stressful >be supportive, raise scott right >he's a god damn mutie too >oldest son dies >scott leaves to chill with a red head who will cuck him
fuck man, the summers had the worst in these movies
James Davis
( I had to think about it ... then I LOLed)
Nicholas Gutierrez
>red head who will cuck him nah man
just cuz they flirt and Wolverine is an emotionally damaged obsessive doesn't mean she'll ever get with him. That firecrotch is only for the Rightest Man On Earth
actually that emotionally damaged obsessive part is probably a big part of it
Hudson Morgan
Those hafta be adoption parents, I will NOT recognize a Christopher Summers without THAT comics-canon mustache.
Grayson Cox
>Just watched the Rogue Cut >In the desolate future Bobby's with Kitty and dies >In the revised future he's with Rogue
I don't know why but this version of the movie made that seem pretty cold
Oliver Gonzalez
>cold hehe
Xavier Lopez
I can't help but wonder what they'll do with all the millenial mutants though
I'd assume at some point the Brotherhood is going to become a thing
Dylan Reyes
>>scott leaves to chill with a red head who will cuck him
Someones doesn't know their comic book characters
James James
Common sense says don't set a movie a decade or more after the last one if the actors are gonna look the exact same as they did in the previous one.
Zachary Taylor
What the fuck is makeup? They could have made all the actors look older but nope they need to be pretty. Well expect Mystic because Mystic.
Thomas Hill
This is a movie series where Mystique appears as just plain old JLaw at almost all times because the actress doesn't wanna sit through the makeup process. They're not gonna use makeup to make everyone else look older.
Also using extensive makeup on your entire main cast to make them look older for the course of an entire action movie just isn't practical.
Elijah Miller
I want to fuck plain old JLaw, at least they sort of tried explaining it by saying she doesn't want to be revered by mutants
