This was pretty messed up actually, he didn't die in police custody he died as they were arresting him, possibly through asphyxiation or excessive force.

Some more upbeat news is that Apple bought a bunch of land out in Ottawa's tech park and they are setting up a site here for working on their top secret automotive project.
They already hired the guy who started QNX, and will probably be looking to poach a bunch of employees from the tech park. I hope they also consider hiring a bunch of new people as we could really use a strong tech industry to get Canada back in shape and counter the horrible brain drain to the US (though really that won't happen until taxes are lowered or cost of living is substantially reduced)
