That cover is really, really bad.

>expected a scifi adventure where low power heroes use their skills and brains to solve problems

instead get:
>magic
>deus ex machinas
>people coming back to life repeatedly

The Bendis vers has its issues but this is just as trash

>fresh off 52
>"hey guys! we're doing another weekly! Its called Countdown!"

52 weeks of shit. Everything was shit. the storylines, the tie ins, the twists. Everything

I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place.
Even your emotions had an echo
In so much space

And when you're out there
Without care,
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much

Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?

And I hope that you are having the time of your life
But think twice, that's my only advice

Come on now, who do you, who do you, who do you, who do you think you are,
Ha ha ha bless your soul
You really think you're in control

Well, I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
Just like me

My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember is thinking, I want to be like them
Ever since I was little, ever since I was little it looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done

Would before watchmen have been a thing if the movie had never happened?

...

Probably. They did a prequel to Sandman (though at least Neil Gaiman worked on that)

DC would print a prequel to the Bible if they could figure out how to make one.

...

...

ah, the bitch to be you memes come flooding back in tidal wave of emotions

That and "Time to shit" are the only things I remember about Before Watchmen.

...

I remember ignoring it entirely.

Was Cooke's entry at least worth reading? It was the only one that I was really interested in.

It was okay.

...

It's fine. Dr. Manhattan's is alright too.

...

...

bitch to be you right now

I distinctly remember some anons here finding out that the background in Panel 1 was traced

...

Only if you expected something from it in the first place. And if you did you're a moron

Disappointments require expectations.

Thats Alan Moore in the first panel?

No that would be Jeremy Whitleys dragontown

Norse Mythology was already retconned into being the bibles prequel.

Nothing is more disappointing than this pile of shit

They did its called hellblazer #83 and it's great

Did dollar bill get one

>what if batman and the question had a baby?

Why does Rorschach look so fucking big here?

...

OH
JESUS

This is like a really boring version of Punisher MAX.

I like Azz
I like Bermejo
I like Rorschach

but this is just meh.

I hate it when this happens.

I actually quite like this comic so far. Is there a reason people hate it other than for "tainting" their beloved watchmen?

double rip

nice

Please finish this!

To be honest, this comic is decent, but it's not as good as the bits with Rorschach in watchmen. Art's good, though.

He wears risers in his boots when he's in costume.

...

Yeah some of the dialogue is bad but its definitely better than a lot of comics today
If it was its own thing rather than being associated with Watchman I think the whole series would have been fairly well received

...

...

How?

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

The very first bubble doesn't sound like Rorschach at all.

...

...

...

...

It's fucking boring and tells us nothing about Rorschach that we don't already know, except simplified to the point where he's a parody of himself. He's not put in a situation outside of his comfort zone, he's not learning anything new, parts of his history or personality Moore didn't fully explore are not being covered.

It's a mess of wasted potential and confusing plot decisions.

...

...

Fuck this comic and fuck me for ever being excited. I remember the first time I heard about it I came up with three theories about what it would be about.

>A) story about teen Walter's life in the orphanage and beyond that shows him learning the skills that he'll use as Rorschach and slowly beginning to develop his ethics code
>B) story about the first few days or weeks after Rorschach first starts fighting crime that involves him learning through trial and error the ins and outs
>C) story about Rorschach and Dan's early partnership and how they take down Underboss or Big Figure, and how they learn to adapt to each other's differences and personalities to become good partners and friends.
>D) story that combines all of the above somehow

But nope, none of that was even on the table. Instead, make way for pointless Taxi Driver references and the world's most generic gangbanger mob boss and his deus ex machina pet tiger, and a serial killer subplot that goes nowhere. Let's see Rorschach make rookie mistakes despite this being years into his crime fighting career just because hurrr durr fight scenes are cool, and let's have none of the repercussions of the Blair Roche case be brought up despite how this is supposed to take place after it happens.

Fuck this piece of shit. I loved the Minutemen and Silk Spectre books, so I didn't go into this expecting to hate it like other Watchfags did. I was excited, I was looking forward to a fresh perspective that would maybe shed some new light on the character. This was a fucking catastrophe.

The artwork is pretty good at least.
