>I'LL KEEP THIS SNAPPY FOR YA'LL LOL
>As some of you have rightfully speculated, season 2 will have 30 episodes just like season 1. However, unlike season 1, there will be a hiatus after we release episode 25. We're not quite sure on the length of the hiatus just yet, but it will not be as long as the hiatus between season 1 and season 2. At most, it'll be several weeks. The reason for this is that episodes 26, 27, 28, and 29 will all ideally be different guest episodes, mostly recorded in California instead of Pennsylvania. The guests aren't 100% set in stone yet, but we have a good idea of who we want to have on, and I believe you'll all be pleasantly surprised with our final four guests.
>Episode 30 will be similar in spirit to episode 30 from season 1 in the sense that it'll be a big bang of sorts and will be pretty lengthy. Episode 30 will also be recorded in CA so that we can involve Chris and Stamper (who live there now). Niall, Mick, Cory and I will all visit California to do the finale.

>Finally, we'd like to end all speculation and formally announce that episode 30 will be the series finale of SleepyCast. The later part of this season has proven increasingly more difficult to put together not due to a lack of love for the podcast, but just because of the sheer amount of things going on in everyone's lives. SleepyCast was initially started as "filler" content while we worked on our bigger projects and almost all of said bigger projects are wrapping up or beginning to take full time commitment like never before. Beyond that, we're scattered all over the god damn Earth. Stamper is in San Diego, Chris in LA, Niall and I will be moving to LA at some point, Mick may do similar and Cory and Jeff will most likely continue working on the game in PA until it's finished. That said, it's likely someday in the not-too-distant-future that we'll all be settled down and SleepyCast will return in some form or another. I genuinely believe that statement and I'm not trying to sugar coat it, I know you're all big boys who can shit in your diapers without dada's supervision and horny eyes.
>I should reiterate that it's not ending right now so don't crinkle that fat face into a frown just yet, we have some more hehe's and hoho's coming your way very soon.
>Mick will make another announcement similar to this one with more detail and information sometime soon-ish. This update was just the broad strokes.
>A genuine thanks from everyone at the Cabin for all of you guys listening to us ramble for close to two years now and supporting us.
>Cheers

Bumpo

Writing was on the wall once everyone started moving. Bummer, but oh well.

Any other podcasts people can recommend?

Grandma's virginity with justin Roiland. It's pretty much dead but it has a lot of episodes.

Co optional if you are into games (I am not really a gaming person but I like to keep informed).

Harmontown is just a personal favorite. Podcast by a guy who made community and rick and morty. It was a live show but the recordings started after he got fired.

That kind of sucks. There podcast was fun due to the personalities of each person clashing and all the shittalking they do. It was stupid, but I generally don't partake in stupid so it's a fresh for me. Any good podcast to replace them? Mainly the fun personalities with the talks of stupid weird shit. I like stuff like giant bombcast but it's not as silly.

I'm fine with this. The quality slowly began to drop after season 2 without the podcast being shit. After a while, I just feel like they covered a lot of what they could on a podcast after more than 70 episodes. It's better to end this while it's still fun.

Calling it now, Justin Rolland will be the cast's final guest.

>it's a ricepirate episode
The only thing that saved S2 was the jontron opener, occasional shadman and stamper

>Justin Rolland
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well.
I reckon there'll be an episode with the game grumps as well, or at least Egoraptor

>tfw I listened to the only new episode of GVP in two years and liked it
>tfw Justin's never going to take the time to make another episode

I like Harmontown, but it's only barely Sup Forums-related, whenever they happen to be talking about Rick and Morty or some capeshit of the week that Dan's sperging about. The other 95% of it is about comedy/TV production/all kinds of other random shit.

I was actually really liking the second season. The latest one with 'Arry Partridge was hilarious with the impressions from the guys and the other recent episodes that it's been a while since I heard them. If they can get Justin roiland at some point I'd graciously accept that the series is over. I'd love to have them meet him.

Stamper is good to have and so is Shadman, but the stuff they brought to the table during their appearances this season were a bit lackluster. I really liked the one where Shad and Chris were talking about evolution and that episode the conversation is in though.

I think Dan and the guys (especially Rob Schrab) are great with Improv, so when the guys threw some in the season two episodes I was grateful for whatever they tried to throw into an episode. You are right when you said they don't really connect well. I love Dan's rants because I feel it would be great if there were some animations made from it the same way SC has animations made of it. I think it would be good if people tried to get better by making cartoons of that.
Also I can't wait to see who or what Doomnomitron is.

> Harmontown
Jesus it hurts being worried for Dan's mental health all the time. Things are looking up for him now, at least. He's got a new girlfriend after the divorce and finally started showering again.

Grandma's Virginity Podcast, that shit's great.

I fell asleep for the episode with the women were on (the most recent one, and I was on a roadtrip), but Dan said he woke up hitting the new girl. I don't know if it's important but it was pretty funny in a weird way. I love Dan but goddamn he can get on my nerves when he has any kind of minority.

I really loved the Norman Lear episode though. Didn't really know about him before.

I always liked their lost episodes

Were the any more secret episodes released? I only know about the first 2 or 3.

Post your favorite Sleepycast moments

First for Bulbina

The Green M&M

>Bulbina
That was amazing but I'll say President Corey

Saw this coming a mile off

Internet animators are the least organised people in the world

Irish Stories is where I gel in love with the podcast

In fairness, it's ending because they're committed to projects and don't have the time to record themselves talking a load of dumb shit anymore

>having guests in CA

One of them will almost definitely be Egorapist

>co-optional
>Dodger
>Totalcancer

Are you fucking retarded

>literally never animate ever
>only productive thing these washed up animators ever did was the Podcast
>that's ending

Jesus, just fucking quit already. The era of the internet animator is over. I can see Oney going back to "revive" his OneyPlays channel. Zach will follow suit as well.

Arin was right.

Wasn't Chris already posting more gameplay videos recently?

Episodes that don't have Stamper and Oney are dog shit.

I ised to be a big fan of Harmontown until I realized how much of a colossal cunt Dan is. The podcast might as well be titled the "Please Tell Me I'm a Good Person Show." His desperation is a real turnoff and he tends to have really shitty opinions as a result.

I don't think it's all that bad. The podcast only ever existed to tide them and fans over until their bigger work came through. While Sleepycabin as a collective project is a failure, it hasn't dragged its individual members down with it, as they're still clearly finding work and having the podcast as an obligation is holding them back at this point. It's better to draw a line under it and let them get on with the projects at hand than carry on pretending they'll get something done collectively.
That all being said, yes, Arin was obviously right. Yes, the age of Internet animation is over but anybody who hasn't seen the righting on the wall since 2012 was in denial anyway.

Do you think Hellbenders stands a chance in today's cartoon scene?

They were really desperate to put it in the real market, and I guess they finally did it, but I think they could have been reeking in Patreon's cash from today's kids glued to their tablets. Would have been that hard to produce one 5 minute short per month?

Well, its been a good run. Hopefully Stamper gets help with his depression and the rest keep finding good jobs.

Which ep had the story about Niall(I think) and the pedophile who tried to lure him and his friend out of the water? I can't for the life of me remember which one it was.

So why did Stamper leave anyway? What is he doing now?

Shadman's the worst person on the planet.

He wanted to pursue his music stuff, as well as just animate. He seemed really down when he came back.

>literally never animate ever

So they're animating constantly on multiple products and that doesn't count because it's not a 5 minute YouTube meme machine?

They're animating, just not for YouTube. They've said several times in the podcast that YT is not a good place for animators anymore.

>Youtube """"""""""Animators""""""""""""
>making content
Pick one

>Co optional if you are into games (I am not really a gaming person but I like to keep informed).

Would be cool if half of the podcast wasn't dedicated to Blizzard.

Would be cool if half the podcast wasn't cancer

Animator here, can confirm. After 2012 the youtube revenue for short content with a lot of views plumeted. I'm lucky to get 500-600 usd per 1 million views if at that now.

What's your stance on Patreon.

People don't really give money to SFW animation patreons, check youtube patreons like gonzo or harry or whoever else. Then compare them to porn animators patreon, which is always 10x that. So you can only make it by animating porn.

Well, if I start comparing, then I find too about how gonzo and harry (I guess you mean Partridge) haven't delivered too much lately...

There are exceptions like big game projects, but if you don't deliver at least monthly or bi-monthly, of course nobody is going to drop the cash monthly and attach to you.

It think it's a matter of balance and adaptation.

>deliver much
Because you literally can't afford to animate full time anymore, which in turn slows your animation progress.

Pre 2012, for 3 million views a month i earned anywhere from 4-7k.

Now for the same 3 million i earn 900-1.2k

I thought we were talking about Patreon.

Nobody is going to get a 4k patreon attachment by doing just one or two videos per year.

Yeah that's understandable, but alas people fail to realize how long and hard it is to make 2d animation. Unless people are ready to be happy with literally 100% tweeeeeeen animation then you can produce that somewhat fast in only a month or so.

They do animate, just not for youtube

We Hate Movies is you want to hear a bunch of funny guys talk about bad movies.

The Giant Bomb casts are top-tier.

Is there any legitimacy to his depression? Or is this just a widespread assumption?

I would like to know more about it.

youtube.com/user/OneyNG/videos

For example, how much time things like those Timewaster/Improvable shorts do you ponder it takes? I think the point is the retarded humour, so a series of 5 minutes (tops) of shorts like that could be achievable on a monthly basis. I may be wrong, so tell me if it is the case.

Well shit, I'm down two podcasts to listen to while on the road.

Maddox, The Biggest Cuck in the Universe decided to be a liberal shit and ended his friendship with Dick and canceled the show. The petty fuck couldn't handle Dick having different views from hims and turn his problems into unnecessarily political problems in desperate need to put him down and 'win'.

Anyone have good podcasts to listen to? I like Radiolab but new content from them is few and far between.

To make 5 minutes of that would take about a month and a half.

22 second long videos earn nothing as youtube is all about watch time. They only reward videos that are 10 minute long/frequently uploaded (which is why all the letsplays/liveblogs/reviews are everywhere on youtube while original content has been pushed into the depths of obscurity).

>Sup Forums recommending podcasts to each other

Oh yeah this'll end well just like that time, yep.

Don't you all remember the first couple Sly Cooper movie threads? It was a travesty.

awwww but now I have no more podcasts

Finding new podcasts is so hard, I only have one now and it's Sup Forums-related

mega64 isnt a podcast its a way of life

I laugh just thinking about the Tinder Adventure.

looking back it was all kinda garbo

IT'S FUCKING JOHN C. RILEY

another one gone. I don't want to go back to that pizza party bs, Who's around that's as good as sleepycabin?

Assumption, but he shows signs of it. I think he said he was depressed at some point during the podcast, but I could be wrong.

...

Comedy Bang Bang is pretty good. It's a hollywood podcast so they bring in a bunch of big name comedians who generally know what they're doing, and most episodes are at least amusing if not outright hilarious. Plus since it's a professional podcast they've released an episode every week without fail for the last seven years, sometimes more with bonus episodes. So there's plenty to listen to.

uhh yeah dude is literally the greatest podcast ever made and it's quality has not changed at all in the last 10 years its been running

In one of the season 2 episodes he said that he feels like everyone kinda forces themselves to try to talk about certain things instead of just being laid back and talking about whatever on the podcast, and he really doesn't like that. Or something to that effect anyway. That, and he just wanted to focus on other stuff.

Jeff's Minecraft misadventures feat. Markiplier.

HEY GUYS

GUYS WHAT IF

WHAT IF A YOUTUBE ANIMATOR MADE A TWO MINUTE CARTOON ABOUT MARIO

BUT

BUT GUYS WAIT FOR IT

BUT WHEN MARIO HIT HIS HEAD WITH A BRICK HE GETS A CONCUSSION AND DIES XD

WAIT

WAIT

EVEN BETTER, HE EATS A MUSHROOM

BUT INSTEAD OF GROWING BIGGER

WHAT IF HE HAD A DRUG TRIP

Episode twenty, but that was Zach and his friend Seth.

>that last episode where he avoids mentioning Dick at any point and omits him from the description
lol such a bald bitch

>Show dies at just the same time I get a new job that I can't have headphones on at

It's like destiny.

Anywany, anybody here listen to any DnD podcasts? I know that's more /tg/ but I listen to one called Dungeons and Randomness that's pretty good, the DM does a really good job storytelling.

Maximum Fun has some pretty good stuff if you can avoid the few Social Justice type shows they have on there.

Thanks for the input. I don't really shit on them often or anything because of their respective animation hiatuses, but I think whole blank years is a bit too much. If I was a really huge Newgrounds nerd and fan of their animated stuff, things like those dull Oney's let's play videos would feel like a spit in the eye.

The F plus

Basically the cast(which varies from ep to ep) dissects a particular community/person, it's got everything from loons, fetishes, terrible poetry/songs and overtly sensitive people.

thefpl.us/episode/135 is the ep that my friends showcased.

>Maximum fun
I only really listen to The Adventure Zone right now, I caught myself not having listened to MBMBAM for maybe half a year so I deleted the subscription

Outside of that I listen to the DM's block, it used to be weekly but they split up the different segments so it's more like 3 times a week now

The Adventure Zone is pretty good, I get tired of Griffin pulling his punches though, you can tell it's made Travis and Justin really think they can get away with goofing off every chance they get.

The podcast did get me into GMing, which i appreciate.

Though the mush-room in LMoP is still my favorite goof

>the few Social Justice type shows they have

And those are?

The Flop House is the only MF podcast I listen to, which is fantastic.

podcasts are a dead/dying artform sadly

the podcast format has been spiritually continued in let's play at least

>the podcast format has been spiritually continued in let's play at least
No.

well for sleepycast i'll be getting my new fix from oneyplays

despite what you think of them as a whole

The two big ones are Throwing Shade, which is a pretty funny gay dude and a bitch that complains about white dudes all the time and Pop Rocket, which is supposed to be about pop culture but they manage to fold it all back into talking about it pertains to their progressive views, which gets really annoying when you just wanna know if star wars was good.

How good is the mom one? I remember part of their thing was sort of having disproportionally many dudes listening to it

Mommy's Boys

>literally never animate ever

Mick did some shorts, but they're unfunny trash.

What about podcasts that can't transition into let's plays? Like conversations about history?

Speaking of pop culture, who here is a fan of Laser Time? I'm a big fan of the Laser Time podcast, Vidjagame Apocalypse, and 302010.

First Maddox cancels Biggest Problem, now Sleepycast is ending, the only two podcasts I've been listening to.

At least the SC guys had the decency to give us a heads up ahead of time, with a few episodes to go, and another huge finale? Awesome

Unlike that cop-out filler Maddox sharted out the other day.

The show is pretty good as well. altho they stopped getting huge names after season 1 and kid cudi is a terrible actor.

>WHY WAS A KID FUCKING A HOLE ON THE BUS COREY

idk if any of you ever spent any time in the Newgrounds Stickam Chat, but the early episodes of Sleepycast are JUST like I remember it being. A bunch of maniacs shouting over eachother, constantly escalating the conversation to newer, crazier levels.

Laser Time would be the best podcast if not for Henry Gilbert. That fat faggot is intolerable and can't let a single topic pass without turning it into a discussion on white privilege.

What did he mean by this?

>that fat faggot is intolerable and can't let a single topic pass without turning it into a discussion on white privilege.

Uh, are you sure? I just listened to an episode with Hank and there was never a discussion on white privilege. Not even a mention

I'd recommend Distorted View Daily.

>mega64
youtube.com/watch?v=TVRcxHnQVys

>Hank

Yeah, not even gonna bother talking to you.

>shunning me because I called him Hank

>tfw this is pretty funny

The only other ones I listen to are Lore and the Art of Manliness.

>DE MONKEY NEVAH COME BACK TO DE VILLAGE
The way Zach says it makes me crack up every time. I could honestly listen to an hour of just monkey stories and I would be thoroughly entertained.

Alright Sup Forums, what was the first SC episode you watched?

Episode Three - 'Animals, Animation, and Other A-words' was mine.

Zach has pretty great delivery in general.

>The entire Marsquatch/creepypasta recording

My favorite moment is probably the taco trial.
