They should make a two-season television series out of the Noldor's journey in The Silmarillion.

That's not how you start a comfy LotR thread tho. it needs to be dumb bait

I'd prefer an adaption of Children of Hurin

let me try
>stop caring about childish banalities

What characters do you think they would change into black people for diversity?

Best case scenario: everyone in hollywood forgets tolkien exists

because after what happened with the hobbit I don't want any of them touching the rest of his works

...

Idris Elba would play Beren

Thingol would oppose his romance with Luthien because he a rayciss ass cracka

...

...

...

I loved this story in The Silmarillion. I'll read it when it comes out in paperback. Children of Hurin was very good, I thought.

>Luthien described as the most beautiful being ever to grace middle-earth
>that cover art

Alan Lee pls

...

>future adaptations

We were lucky we got the LotR movies we did, none of these people should touch anything related to the first or second age after what happened with The Hobbit. Hopefully the next in line after Chris dies is as autistic about keeping everyone away from it as he is.

Yeah, he's got some good illustrations but I'm more of a John Howe man myself. I love his ominous and sharp tones. I'd love to find an artist who does good character art though, like someone who does Luthien or a Turin justice

>men in holes
when are you nerds killing yourself?

Got this genuine prop from a friend who worked on the set. Wasn't used in the actual movie but I think there may have been a line referencing it.

>future adaptions discussion
You can't adapt the silmarillion, the same way you can't really adapt the old testament. Audiences are not ready for so many narratives and characters at once. Beren and Luthien alone would easily take 15 hours of film if not more. To script this is a inhuman task, not to mention the loss of intellectual depth present in the original books. You won't get the chants or poems, you won't get the linguistics richness, you will definitely not get close to the elegant literature and poetry of JRRT's prose.
And even if you somehow did, getting the rights would be nearly impossible to begin with.
It's probably better this way. This is a case where it's better to have nothing than something mediocre. See the Hobbit.

...

The Silmarillion sucks as a whole but some of the individual stories (Fall of Gondolin) are good.

>This is a case where it's better to have nothing than something mediocre. See the Hobbit.

Hobbit should've been a cakewalk of an adaptation. It's happier, easier and more self-contained than LotR. The reason why it sucked was purely monetary.

>She was already a quadroon.
>She has to pay the toll and follow him to the grave.
>Her family has to leave her behind as they travel to better places because she can no longer go with them.
>Even her half breed Dad doesn't want it to happen because he will have to give her up forever.

Pretty cautionary tale really.

>The reason why it sucked was purely monetary.
And how would this be any different with the Silmarillion?

If anything it was serendipity that fellowship of the ring was so good. Jackson was lucky. And his luck is now completely gone.

>complains about bringing Gandalf back
>brings Jon back
hmmm

...

>how would this be any different with the Silmarillion?

Hobbit should've been good. With Silmarillion, there's doubt it could ever be good.

If anybody other than John Boorman is put in charge it'll be garbage.

>does Tolkien infer that the Gods are Goys?

Pretty much all of Aule's followers or creations seem to suffer from covetousness and desire for power and treasures.
Sauron and Sauruman are his Maiar, the dwarves who bring so much chaos to the world are his creation.
Aule is seen as good but his creations all seem flawed.

Eol
he will literally be a Dark Elf.

what should Jackson tackle next?

>The Search for Gollum Trilogy between The Hobbit and LOTR
>Barliman Butterbur: A Lord of the Rings Story
>The Lord of the Rings Episode IV: The Shadow Awakens (based on some notes on the events after ROTK found scribbled on one of Tolkien's napkins)

Wait is this out yet?

>Barliman Butterbur: A Lord of the Rings Story
Fuck yes

More than three decades after publishing “The Hobbit,” Tolkien spoke about the Jewish-dwarvish connection during a BBC interview.

“I didn’t intend it, but when you’ve got these people on your hands, you’ve got to make them different, haven’t you?” said Tolkien during the 1971 interview. “The dwarves of course are quite obviously, wouldn’t you say that in many ways they remind you of the Jews? Their words are Semitic, obviously, constructed to be Semitic. The hobbits are just rustic English people,”

>people used to hate on Chris for being so autistically protective of his father's legacy
>the hobbit happens
Apologise

a tv series about the sackville-bagginses in the style of keeping up appearances

Regular reminder that beren and luthien is based on the GOAT and his wife Edith:

>"I never called Edith Luthien – but she was the source of the story that in time became the chief part of the Silmarillion. It was first conceived in a small woodland glade filled with hemlocks at Roos in Yorkshire (where I was for a brief time in command of an outpost of the Humber Garrison in 1917, and she was able to live with me for a while). In those days her hair was raven, her skin clear, her eyes brighter than you have seen them, and she could sing – and dance. But the story has gone crooked, & I am left, and I cannot plead before the inexorable Mandos."

>Aule was always faithful to Eru and submitted all his creations to His will. He was never jealous of others' creations, but sought and gave counsel. He enjoyed in the things he made and in the making itself and passed ever to some new work, without hoarding or possessing. For this, there was much strife between him and Melkor who envied him; Melkor always marred his work and Aule always sought to repair them.[1][2]

Aule is basically the embodiment of the white European cuck, creating for others to steal and corrupt and destroy yet always being a good goy and fixing shit for it to be destroyed again

>But the story has gone crooked, & I am left, and I cannot plead before the inexorable Mandos.

Fuck, imagine coming back from the most disgusting and brutal war and witnessing your literal soul mate dancing in prairies. Imagine the happiness that JRR Tolkien felt and now imagine how he felt when she was gone.

...

you could say that about any valar, Melkor is the the others you are alluding to. In Tolkien's lore destruction always breeds creation and vice versa. The silmarils themselves are the ultimate example of this duality.

>The world is black and white

Imagine being this retarded.

I don't. I do think you're a whinging, virtue-signaling cockfaggot though.

welcome to Sup Forums, where there's no need to imagine!

>future adaptions
Please no more. We have suffered enough.
Finance original scripts for a change ffs

...

Guarantee you think this way too, only the colours are reversed

I wonder where the rights fetch up when CJRT dies. Which he will eventually, although distaste for Jackson's overrated rubbish and the desire to stop him creating more of it is probably what's keeping him alive.

are you implying blacks do not exist? Stop exerting your privilege, racist

does Sup Forums have to ruin EVERYTHING?

Why did Isildur get a bad reputation for keeping the ring? Sauron was the only one who had it up until that point. There was no way to know it would corrupt the wearer.

based

>The audio book will not be narrated by Christopher Lee
It hurts

there was. Celebrimor warned the elves that Sauron would create a master ring

user

Children of Hurin has been out for years

So it's a master ring. Big deal. Isildur had proved himself to be a pretty decent guy. A good person could use the ring to make the world a better place.

They overshit their own cage. People like that tend not to be sympathetic.

...

The next adaption will not be the Silmarillion

Its very likely that, if the current trends continue, we will see LOTR remade in the next 5-10 years, if not sooner

They are already remaking movies from the early 2000s, its inevitable they will cash in on the Tolkien buxx again

Fucking KEK!

WOAH! Excellent comeback bro! wew you really showed that cuck by trying to use SJW cliche tactics on him!

...

this is so raciss dude!

That's Galadriel's point. it would be nothing but a tyranny. The one ring is a deception, dare I say it? A trap. There's no good that could come from Sauron's creation.

Don't take everything so seriously senpai. Just relax, live a bit every now and then, enjoy life, spread love, and avoid black people. You'll be alright.

Wasnt there an actual story about elf racism in the Silmarillion

Some dark elf motherfucker who went to a hidden city with another kind of elf ruling it and they all hated his ass?

I dont remember what the story was called

This is the worst fucking autism. It's no different from the "TRUMP IS VULDAMURT" gaggle of idiots.

...

kekek spicy as fuck memes

I wish I could go back in time Abduct Tolkein and show him the Trilogy and ask his opinion

do blacks exist in the world of middle earth?

Can't show incest

yeah they're the haradrim, sauron's operation get behind the darkies

yes. south of mordor. They exist but there is no tale about them. Just a few allusions here and there.

>taking the bait this fucking hard

Kek, oh user! I happen to personally know 7 of the posters on you've referenced and can assure you quite confidently they are nearly jesting for good sport :€)

yeah he described black skinned men with red tongues and eyes like coals, as well as 'half-trolls'.

Please be more tolerant to Sup Forums refugees. Accept their culture. If you don't like it then it's your problem, not theirs.

contributions like yours should be banned from Sup Forums
I'd rather see porn pictures posted here than your childish pointless pseudo memes

Yes. Pay attention user!

if your such a big fan of j.r.r.tolkien then please describe in intricate detail the hobbits tax policies

not your safespace - sin't that what you lot have been copying recently?

France in the early 19th century loved Napoleon so much that they gladly accepted him as a dictator shortly after they deposed their monarchy for a democratic republic. Tyrants can be the best form of government.

wow mods are really cleaning up

>capthca

Napoleon had a mind and a charisma, not a magical ring in a fantasy world. Your argument is precisely Boromir's pov. it's a fallacy, a mistake, it leads to nothing but misery. The whole 3 books are about how your pov is an error. Gollum himself is what happens when you keep the One ring. It's even written on the bloody thing:

>Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
>Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
>Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
>One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
>In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
>One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
>One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
>In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

But please keep bringing real life example to demonstrate your lack of reading comprehension. It is amusing to observe such stubbornness.

Aww now he's really angry! What's matte?? Poor little baby's first time browsing a Lithuanian Ant Farming forum?

Don't worry, your season stay here will all be over soon. Just try and keep to observing rather than posting while visiting ;]

Is there 4k Edition for LotR?

youtube.com/watch?v=aVMq7ynj_64

being huan is suffering

>One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne

eh? eh?

My point is how would they have known the ring was bad once Isildur kept it? He would not have seen the words because they only appear in fire. All they have is a ring they know gives great power to the wearer. They also have monarchies in middle earth. What's wrong about a monarch (especially a good monarch) getting more power to make his kingdom better? You're using information obtained after Isildur took the ring to say why it was a bad idea to take the ring.

did sauron use the toilet when he was corporeal?

does aragon need to make dookie?

what about the lady Gabrielle, does she push logs on the daily?

i dont think i've seen toilets or portapotties in middle.earth so do they dig wholes or something?

If a Single bite from a Lembas can fill your stomach what did Pippin shit out after he eat 4 whole bread

woah

does tolkien lore have any robots characters? metal-golem or something?
