>Can anyone redpill me on the Turkey - Russia relationships since the coup?
I really have no idea what's going on and who is jewying who anymore. Did Putin warn Erdogan about it? Are they allies now? But Putin is fighting for Assad in Syria while Erdogan wants to get rid of him and supports the """"moderate rebels""""? What the fuck is going on?!
I don't know it either. What I do know is that there is a certain creepy analogy between Turkey and Russia. Erdogan and Putin both were praised by the "West" and almost simultaneously (around 2010s) become devils out of nowhere. Both came also in power exact the same time, in both cases after a chaotic, economically horrendous and war- and terror-riddled 90s decade.
Note also that the republic of Russia and Turkey were founded almost to the same time as well.
Austin Lewis
>Russia and Turkey >Republic That is when people should've started getting suspicious.

There will be a friendly football match in september in Antalya. Erdoğan personally invited Putin.
Chase Myers
They don't allow moderate terrorists fleeing Aleppo to enter Turkey accroding to some sources so maybe they don't support them anymore. Things are really unclear at the moment. Erdogan will be in Russia on August 9th to discuss Russian-Turkish relations with Putin so relations are definetely improving but to what extent we won't know until they publish some kind of resolution after that meeting.
>republic of Russia and Turkey That doesn't sound right.

Putin hates roaches just like every other russian currently does He will use him to build the pipeline and that will be it Since Erdogan crawled back to him Putin knew that he must be desperate. He will use him as a pawn and drop him as soon he doesn´t need him anymore.
Ayden Cox
Putin told roach chief about the coup, now supreme roach owes him his life...
James Sanders
So the situation is really unclear and we are left with speculations. It would be wise of Erdogan to stop support le moderate muslims down there, but he is an Islamist after all. Neo Ottoman failed so far, but the region is more in disarray than ever. And I really can't see him getting to terms with Russia as long as Assad and Erdogan hate each other and are mortal enemies.

They may talk big but they will make peace with each other if they will be pressed to do it. It's the Middle East, man.
One thing you might be interested in is that Russian and Turkish cultures were sometimes described as "Byzantine" as opposed to Western (Roman).

Russian AND Turkish cultures. When did Turkey become the Byzantine Empire? - I thought you guys were historical, eternal enemies?

What we know: Nato said if Erdogan provokes war with Russia nobody will help him. Erdogan acts like he still has the Military from years ago but he self has shrinked it. US Base in Turkey BTFO... dont know if running again. Turkey isnt the "protection screen" of Europe anymore. Thats why Putin strengthen relationships with Greece. Putin dont wants all the "progess" thats going on in Europe. AFAIK The Russians are saving the Sea arround Greece with all kind of Ships... Greece is the new Shield. Nato has lost Territory.

I wasn't the one who classified them as such. Ottoman Empire absorbed shitloads of Eastern Orthodox people. That was the reason (that and the straits) why we were enemies in the first place. Honestly, we probably would be quite similar if we wouldn't belong to different races.
And countries they ruled over are now considered Western. Where do you thing "Western" comes from? HInt: it's not about Western Europe.

Turkish foreign policy ABSOLUTELY B T F O T F O

Let alone Erdoğan, even Jews have no idea what the fuck is Turkey doing. Turkish foreign policy died 4 years ago in the suburbs of Alleppo.

>One thing you might be interested in is that Russian and Turkish cultures were sometimes described as "Byzantine" as opposed to Western (Roman). What happened thousands of years before isn't actually what I wanna say (even though it's interesting).
But the "modern era" does have a strange analogy between those two nations. One might say, on purpose.

We had this with the Cold War with Americans vs. Russians. Now everything is Christian vs. Islam. Like on this board, where you see turkic Balkanites shouting Remove Kebab all the time.
Maybe the world would be better, if people won't let themselves play off against each other.
I agree, Russia and Turkey seems culturally somewhat similar in mentality.
Jose Bennett
>turkic Balkanites Please explain how are we Turkic? It's literally opposite. Turks are Balkanite, at least big part of Turkey.

Turkey tried to prolong its Nato privilege as long as possible, but it seems that is about to end. Following the alleged coup, a lot of downsizing and reorganization of military, MIT and gendarmery have started. Basically all the cold war era structures are being brought down. Nato is either downsizing or breaking ties with its anti-Russia past and completely being overhauled for the new century.

Erdogan was actually buddies with Assad before the Syrian revolution where he decided to side with Western interests while probably being promised some nice gibs after the success. If per chance he decides to turn his back on them, I think he might be ok with Assad staying in Syria.

At this moment absolutely noone can trust the government establishment in Washington, Brussels and Berlin, both administrations are either equally incompetent or led by absolutely destructive ideas.
Well, congratulations: you get yourself caught. What's the next step in your masterplan?

State ruled by Provisional Government after February Revolution was called Russian Republic. Then they made some concessions to Ukrainians and it became Russian Federal Republic. Then bolsheviks took power and that time it was Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic also known as Soviet Russia. Then some of the autonomous republics were given de-jure independence and the Soviet Union was formed. On June 12 1990 RSFSR declared its independence from the Soviet Union (it was the 6th republic out of 15 to do that).
Juan Price
So even glorious Soviet Union started out as a Republic. I can already feel the same happening in Germany atm. Only that this shit here sucks ass. It's more a glorious empire of the grand cuckening.
