I visited the Portuguese neighborhood in Newark after a concert and grabbed dinner at a restaurant there (Ironbound actually contains the largest US Portuguese diaspora community outside of New Bedford--about 30,000 strong). Please rate my fat, American, bastardized seafood 'paella':

much like your posting
What are those red creatures resting on the rice?
adult turkroaches, stupid burger probably ordered peru.
Lobsters. There are also crabs, little neck clams, shrimp, scallops, and mussels in there. To my surprise the rice was not spicy at all. Perhaps they made it blander to accommodate the gringo palate.
Seems tasty to me, I tried paella once at my grandpa's house in northern Spain and the rice wasn't spicy neither. How much you paid? Also, there was other plate besides this you guys thought to try?
Nice and
>Penacova water
lel
Is it bad? Tasted fine imo
The paella was a two person dish so it cost 40$, which is pretty reasonable in New Jersey, but it actually came with enough seafood and rice for more like four people, so about half of it we took home. My dad ordered a broiled Chilean Seabass, which I tried. It was excellent.
No, its average, just funny to found that there
>it was excellent
As expected.
It does make me wonder though, do Portuguese in Portugal ever eat Chilean Seabass? Or did they pick that up in USA? Most of the Portuguese families in Ironbound, Newark have been here since the 50s or 60s btw, and the community is rather insular from what I hear.
I use to live in 15 minute s from there great food
>jealous hungry monkey
you want some sopa?
great dinner, I wouldn't know how to eat the lobsters with good manners though
don't be rude to Brazilians please
>I wouldn't know how to eat the lobsters with good manners though
yeah that part was kinda hard
he called you a stupid burger out of jealousy and hunger. i am just stating the obvious. if you are hungry all the time and someone is eating lobsters you can get a bit edgy and that's what's happening. no big deal.
if they are cut in halves it shouldn't be a problem, just a fork or even a spoon to pick up the meat.
Why does NJ has such a bad reputation? It's the people who are shitty like in NY or the place?
terrible people
The parts of NJ close to the two big cites NYC and Philly are real shitholes. They don't even look like the US. Rural joyzee is OK I guess.
culture of wawa, being a wop, and watching the iggles
that local slang makes your post sound unintelligible, lingua franca please
>watching the iggles
kek are in camden?
wawa = convenience store chain in NJ and PA
wop = 'without papers', an old-timey ethnic slur for Italians that is no longer offensive because Italians aren't considered "ethnic" anymore
Iggles = Eagles, a football team
Nah but not too far from there. Gloucester County
Yes, it's good seafood
Pray to the sea god before eating
But Portugal, you are of Christendom. It even looks like some of your brethren have become pr*ts in the US.
wop = wog cunt
Wop is a slur for Italians.
