Outside of Band Geeks,

The training video one was good. "HOOPLA"

But I don't know.

Most of the episodes before the movie were great, some even god tier. I can't pick a best.
I need to rewatch all of the first, second and third seasons; heard the newest episodes are changing things up in a good way.
How did you feel about the movie, Sup Forums?

Club Spongebob or The Graveyard Shift

Red Mist

The Smoking Peanut was great, as was Krusty Krab Training Video.

Why are creepypastas so shit?

I love the movie for many reasons, one of them been that introduced me to the band Ween

The Fry Cook Games.

What is it about Spongebob that makes it so funny? It's like some of the episodes hit all of the comedy g-spots and send you into a laughing fit.

People with a sense of humor writing it?

Great comedic timing, and a decent mix of low/high brow humor.

Pound for pound, it's great timing due to the great eye for composition and editing/pacing. In pre-movie Spongebob, there usually would never be 2 consecutive minutes in a row that looked/felt the same way, and as a result, you could bring in brand new jokes with constant freshness.

Most people agree that the best episode alongside Band Geeks is Chocolate With Nuts.

Personally, some of my favorites include The Paper, Krusty Krab Pizza, and Pressure off the top of my head.

The Nasty Patty.

They literally get away with attempted murder.

night shift is the eternal GOAT

It has good timing and visual and wordplay gags. Reminds me of 80s comedies like Airplane which was the king of humor without resorting to gross out tactics

Rock Bottom

Sandcastles in the Sand

The Camping Episode
I laughed so hard the first time I saw it.

Wet Painters

So many great jokes.

Hyperrealistic Blood

THERE'S NO ICE, THERE'S NEVER BEEN ANY ICE. ICE IS JUST MYTH

Anything in S1-3 with Squidward in it is my favourite. Can't give any episode names, since I watch it in german, but the ones that come to mind are the one where Squidward loses his job, the one where he gives his job to Spongebob and constantly worries that he'll fuck up and the employee of the month one.

FUUUUTUUURREEEE

All the comments in here are great, but I've always liked Naughty Nautical Neighbors.

So hard to pick a favourite. Graveyard Shift, Shanghaied, Krusty Krab Training Video, and The Camping Episode all come to mind, and that's just off the top of my head.

The way they show Krabs and Spongebob reacting to what they believe to be murder is fucking hilarious. It's not "Oh no!!!"or something zany.
Krabs becomes full paranoid and plans to get away with it while spongebob turns into a blubbering mess. Genius

This episode showed that two of the main characters would not try to help someone they accidentally murdered nor turn themselves in. Can you say that about any other character

my BEST friend, and my EX best friend, and... RUBBER BATH TOYS!

>Fry Cook Games
>Mermaidman and Barnacleboy 5
>Krab Borg
>SB-129
>Tea at the treedome

It's impossible for me to choose. Every episode from seasons 1 through 3 are hilarious in their own right,

hear it's cry

Definitely among the best post-movie episodes.

Posting this since all of you forgot about it.

SB-129

>SB-129

I'm not sure that I'd call it the best overall, maybe the best from season 1, but it's definitely a personal favorite. Glad that I'm not ALONE.

Why would you take a screenshot of that when you can just save the image?

This and the one with Mystery the seahorse.

A mutual love of SpongeBob is the reason I started liking my first girl. I'll always have memories of that third grade crush I had on that redhead who cared about quoting SpongeBob as much as I did. Now I'll always want girls who love cartoons.

Describe your last relationship with a SpongeBob quote.

>You're good! You're good! You're good!

A Pal For Gary, it's a hidden masterpiece and if you don't think it's funny you're too intellectually inferior to understand.

*"I'm running for my life!"
>Attacked
#"Don't run, they hate that!"
*"Well, I guess I'll just limp home then."
>Attacked
#"They hate limping more than running!"
>Attacked
*"What did I do that time?!
#"I don't know, I guess he just doesn't like you."

Squidward, that was an oval, you need a circle.

the top three for me will always be Band Geeks, Shanghaied, and No Free Rides in interchangeable order

>It was made in a bomb factory.

Just you, and me,

And this brick wall you built between us.

Krusty Krab Training Video
Idiot Box

Which episode is comfiest?

>"Hey Squidward! Guess who just got a job! “
>"guess who just quit"
>mfw

>Chocolate With Nuts.
>That guy's so rich, he has a swimming pool in his swimming pool
My little siblings and I still sometimes joke about this

>We interrupt your laughter at other people's expense for this breaking news
That fucking news reporter. Absolutely great episode.

Band Geeks is easily top 3, but I also really enjoy Spongebob BC, SB-129, and Camping.

Mr. Krabs: Because that patty killed him!

SpongeBob: Mr. Krabs, what are we gonna do?

Mr. Krabs: What's this "we" stuff? You fed him the tainted patty. Looks like it's the stony lonesome for you!

SpongeBob: But you told me to give it to him!

Mr. Krabs: Well, you could've talked me out of it!

SpongeBob: You're right, Mr. Krabs, I'm guilty. I'll never survive in prison

Fucking Mr. Krabs

The Hash Slinging Slasher.

Isn't that blood whistle? That's some comparatively obscure shitty creepypasta.

>SpongeBob: But you told me to give it to him!
ah, the old Nuremberg defense. a classic one.

>The training video one was good. "HOOPLA"
I never understood that """""""""joke"""""""""
is it some inside joke?
is it referring to something that happened around that time?
is it a reference to a movie?

Sounds like a lot of-

lmgtfy.com/?q=hoopla meaning

It's a whole lot of hoopla

I'm glad Aaron enjoyed this post.

Comedy is part of the ability of the humen to reflect the reality. More exactly, it is a delightful reaction towards the unusual, the unnormal and the stupid. However, in order to be able to make good jokes, you need to know what the society considers to be normal. Also, you need to be able to time the jokes. It doesn't make sense to point out the unnormal five minutes after it happened.

The writers of early Spongebob were able write situations, which were considered unnormal by a lot of people. Also, they were able to time the reaction towards the unnormal perfectly. One also has to note that while being unnormal and absurd, Bikini Bottom is still familiare enought to be considered as a setting for a serious show, which makes the contrast between the absurd and the normal much more clear.

My wallets

Mermaid Man And Barnacle Boy 1 is criminally underrated.

"And say hello to used napkin!"

Glad Chocolate with Nuts gets a lot of love.

No gimmicks, no musical numbers, just great screwball writing

the great console race

my favourite scene
sorry for deutsch

Mermaid-Man & Barnacle Boy III had the best gag in the entire series

I wish I could sage you faggots.

Spongebob was never funny, you ADHD, Sup Forums-browsing faggots

>What's in the box

>my wallets

ok

Who put you on the planet?

The one with the box is definitely one of my favorites

Rock-a-Bye Bivalve is very underappreciated.

>Patrick! He can't fly!
>What's the matter? Is he stupid?

>BAHAHAHA! That guy got hit in the head with a coconut!

>Tomorrow
>Tomorrow for Sure
>Eventually
>Uhhh...

>Tomorrow
>Tomorrow for Sure
>Eventually
>Uhhh...

I heard this in that exact voice. The "Uhhh..." makes me giggle like an idiot.

>Watching that one episode where they almost die in Sandy's treedome
>Decade and change after it came out
>Finally get the 'putting on airs' pun

this show is fucking brilliant

>We're not talking about some dumb mail fraud scheme or a hijacking g here. We STOLE A BALLOON!

Avatar fagging is against the rules.

February 2015 never forget

JOHNNY NO DONT DO IT

>Great comedic timing
Don't networks speed-up reruns a little so the timing is off?

>spongebob's german voice is the same as Ren from Ren & Stimpy and Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z
I still can't get over this fact

That's a picture from Catdog, not Avatar, retard.

One of the rare good ones I see in filename threads

Krab-Borg
The Algae's Always Greener
Arrgh!
and the first episode automatically gets an honorable mention because of Tiny Tim
>I DO WHAT I LIKE TO WHEN I LIKE BECAUSE I LOVE IT

>>Patrick! He can't fly!
>>What's the matter? Is he stupid?
This always makes me laugh. Really rich coming from Patrick.

>Patrick! He can't fly!
>What's the matter? Is he stupid?
could you imagine this line in a todays episode?
sounds "problematic" to me

don't forget the hyperrealistic eyes, screaming, crying, and gore.
