Sup Forums, what do you think about apartment costs? I think the cost of a one bedroom apartment; basically, the bare minimum for a living space - I think it should be very low. Even minimum wage should be able to pay for that. And yet it seems like in most areas, it's a real struggle.
What the fuck? Why is it like that?
Jose Davis
because people pay for it.

supply and demand.

if u think urban apartments cost a lot just look at urban homes in the same area, shits like 750K minimum
Dylan Campbell
Supply and demand. Made worse by immigration and globalism. Would you rather property be extensively regulated by the government?
That's what Singapore does btw. I think the government there owns 80+% of residential and commercial properties. Not sure how well it works out for them.
Safe housing and a place to call home is something everyone have just for the psychological benefits if nothing else. Every attempt I've seen at providing that on a massive scale has completely failed though.
Ethan Hall
Property bubble. Pol has no idea about modern economics. Whitey/Jew/Gook/cuck creation. NIgnog and sand nigger totally innocent here.

You might be best getting something in a remote location and sprucing it up

Housing's still expensive as fuck, even public housing
But at least we have no terrorists attacks and low crime so everything's good senpai
Aaron Brown
Its only a bubble if there's rampant speculation, not when there's actual demand to justify the prices.
Look at what is happening in Toronto and Vancouver:
1. Endless rich Chinese immigrants moving their money offshore into Canadian real estate
2. Total immigration to the major cities always exceeds the amount of houses being built for them because crooked politicians refuse to give out residential build permits near city zones
Where's the speculation?
Tyler Hill
>Where's the speculation? Renting
Christopher Hernandez
I feel like its really hard to become rich in Singapore because of how expensive things are. Its such a different expectation when it comes to way of life there (I lived there for a bit). I never once considered buying a car for example, because of how expensive the whole process is.
And yet if you look at an idyllic American house, there's at least a couple of cars in the drive way.
Then again, there's the relatively excellent public transportation (dunno how well that'll scale when it comes down to it, but yeah) and everything you need being close by just because of how small Singapore is.
Parker Barnes
>1 apt to rent >50 students/immigrants/non-home owners apply to it >speculation ???
Logan Wright
But seriously. Let's say you get a one bedroom aparment in bumfuck nowhere. And you have a job at say, Walmart. That should be afforable, should it not? After all, with increasing technology, we're getting to the point where not everyone can contribute an essential service to society.
But even in this bumfuck town, rent probably costs like 1000 minimum.
Nathaniel Wright
Because retards aren't building. The only things being built are luxury apartments
Isaac Butler
I've heard the amount of money spent building new housing in Vancouver equaled the amount of Chinese money speculating on real estate in the city.
Take that for what it's worth.
Colton Cox
The rent will reflect what people in the region are willing to pay for it. This doesn't have to mean that rent is always in lockstep with wages you get from your job. In fact pretty much every living expense has been increasing year after year at much faster pace than what any person with even a skilled (degree holder) job will be able to keep up with through raises, etc in lots of regions.
But if you live in the middle of nowhere, the rent is likely to reflect what the people living there can afford to pay.
Sebastian Flores
You're a complete idiot. This policy would just eliminate one bedroom apartments in all areas unless it become more profitable to offer them. You have no right whatsoever to any apartment in a price range unless you have a contract for it. If you don't like it, tough.
Caleb Wood
So many good goys blaming each other! I love it!
Yes, its just supply and demand, heh heh heh. Remember to save your shekels to pay me the first of every month.
Charles Perez
Not an argument.
Jack Diaz
This. Fucking retards. I want to join the Jews the goy are as dumb as shit.
Gabriel Scott
the whole city thing is the jewish scheme though
Gavin Butler
Nope. And I'd purchase, not rent.
Go to zillow and look up houses in Wyoming. Set the max price to $25,000 (a 30 year mortgage on anything in that range would be peanuts). You'll get tons of results. You'd have to hunt for an ideal location, but just to show that it's not impossible.
Justin Sanchez
Nice pape, saved

My landlord isn't Jewish

Insurance, taxes, maintenance
If you ever own a property and rent it out you will then understand

Because location is also an important factor. Get yourself an agent, you can easily get yourself minimum wage payable rent apartment housing on the edge of a city.
If you're looking for downtown locations smack dab in the middle of things though you won't have good luck.
Ayden Lee
The only shit that's expensive are cars and houses.
I can truly say that the poor in SG have it better than anywhere else. At least they can just go to any mall for airconditioning and to drink water at the toilets since all water is drinkable (source: Did that before)
Worst comes to worst, you can just sign on in the army and they'll provide your basic needs.
And they have additional tax for foreigners or anyone who wants to buy their second property.
The high prices are due to the increase in demand, not a whole lot you can do about that
At least the Muslims here don't bomb up anything and if they did, I'm sure the government will remove kebab
Andrew Rivera
I'm a 6'4" chef at Wendy's with a 9 inch cock making over $130,000 per year.
I bought my first house in 2010 at age 18 for $650,000 and its me worth well over 1 million.
Stay poor, losers!
Kevin Campbell
I can understand why a house would be expensive but apartments should be relatively cheap.
Jaxon Edwards
Don't be fag, you know your not just paying for a random amount of square footage, one is paying for their neighborhood. Most importantly one is paying to live in a non nigger block (send Jimmy to a nice school with fast track programs). I have also watched the sentiment grow of whites trying to find just the right closeness to niggerdom, as to observe it and call their block cultured, but in reality price them out by at least a five block radius.
Nicholas Nelson
Capitalism.
all second homes should be seized, usury abolished and landlords told to get a proper job.
Aaron Phillips
I'm planning on doing that within the next few years. Find a small plot of land in the mountains, which costs a lot more than rolling hills in Wyoming. Then build a small one bedroom house for myself and my dogs.
Connor Wood
sounds like the life of a slave, but a slave living in comfort.
Juan Hill
If you think it's too expensive then you can move to bumfuck nowhere and work a $10/hr job riding tractors.
Luke Perez
mortgage plus insurance plus repais plus profit margin equal your rent
Levi Edwards
sounds like a comfy plan, nothing like the satisfaction of creating your own place
Gavin Young
Sweet, sweet Capitalism, OP. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Thomas Harris
>Why is it so expensive to simply live in an apartment?
answer: because of jews
Brayden Johnson
Well, better than a slave paying for the welfare of refugees and getting bombed on a weekly basis, don't ya think Ahmed?
We're all "slaves" in that sense anyway, since we have to work to get accompdation/food
Oliver Adams
If you think it's that easy you should get into the apartment industry.
Easton Wood
I wish I could do this, but I want for the ocean too much. I'll probably end up living on a boat.

Zoning regulations within the city limits how many houses can be built and where. If you restrict the supply of homes you increase the price. Eliminate zoning and building regulations and you increase the number of people willing to construct homes in various areas. If you claim to care about the poor, but are concerned about the possibility of Jimmy Two-Teeth building a shack next to your clean residence then you don't really care about the poor.
Jeremiah Miller
Beachfront property is cheap as fuck in the Alaskan panhandle, been looking at that myself the past few days. Other than the rain it looks extremely comfy there.

no capitalist country has ever ended homelessness, only socialist ones
Owen Bell
>no capitalist country has ever ended homelessness, only socialist ones "The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal, etc."
Robert Russell
It basically means you not allowed by (((someone))) to build houses in your country. If it was a real market all extra demand would have been fulfilled in 4 years.
Adrian Foster
Why hasn't Jimmy Two-Teeth sold his property yet? The value of the land should highly surpass the value of his shitty house.
Aaron Myers
>no capitalist country has ever ended homelessness, only socialist ones He is right. If you don't have government regulations or can easily avoid them commieblocks just pops here and there and every private person who own some yard build some house for small rent extra money.
Wyatt Butler
Minimum wage jobs are for teenagers that go to school, not fully grown adults.
Camden Myers
I wish I could get a job riding tractors, and it would sure pay way more than $10/hr dumbass.
