The mission of /lbg/ is to promote the intelligent discussion of film as art by providing members with opportunities for intellectual discussion, by recognizing patrician taste through examinations and by calling out embryos as they arise.

Remember the following:
>Patricians occasionally read these generals and have posted here before.
>Patricians may pretend to be normal users asking for recommendations and when you recommend something, they laugh at you for your plebian taste

Buncha fuckin' TOOLS

(You)

What I want, you've got
And it might be hard to handle
But like the flame that burns the candle
The candle feeds the flame
What I've got's full stock of thoughts
and dreams that scatter
You pull them all together
And how, I can't explain
But You make my dreams come true
On a night when bad dreams become a screamer
When they're messin' with the dreamer
I can laugh it in the face
Twist and shout my way out
And wrape yourself around me
'Cause I ain't the way that you found me
I'll never be the same
'Cause You make my dreams come true
I'm down on the daydream
That sleepwalk should be over by now
I know that You make my dreams come true"

The hearse was pretty boring

wahoo!!!!!!!!!

sadly, not wahoo in this instance

happily, yes wahoo in this instance

I dislike Malick but i have been thinking about going and seeing song to song, is it worth it?

letterboxd.com/FutureDays/

Where's it playing?

Bio rio here in sweden

Pretty sure it's going to be like like his two last films before it. No one has said otherwise so far. If you know you want like it, don't go.
Personally, I wanna see it, but no theater is playing it here

I'm considering signing up to Letterboxd but I'm hesitant. Is it mostly full of elitist, fart-sniffing movie snobs, or are there some regular bros with better than average taste?

I'm mostly interested in using it as a movie watching journal, and for getting recs. I'm primarily into horror, thriller/mystery and crime.

Worth it for the film diary, watchlist, and list completionism. The main crowd is composed of mostly dumb Tumblr girls but you can surround yourself with whoever. Go here archive.4plebs.org/tv/search/text/Letterboxd.com// to find profiles.

Not bad but could be much better

/jgarron

Well, it's almost 3000 in total. I rarely see anyone with more movies.

Yeah it better than 95% of /lbg/ but I was just thinking it's unbalanced in the 10s, 20s, and 30s.

I know, the 20s-40s are too few, but I only log feature movies and most of the pre-20s are too short to count.

give me kino or give me death

/thegr1fter

Giv kino pls

Viva la kino!

No

Nicholas St. John was the real talent.

Hey man, what would you have done in that guy's position? I would've slept until I was a kid and then role-play with a mommy gf

Nah I'm not into that user. I would just enjoy it every time I got to be a qt Asian girl.

I'd write my name on my hundreds of different tiddies and brag to my online friends

Damn is Free Fire is that good?

>only 3 stars for Crank

Hot take: the remake of death race with jason statham is actually good

>>only 3 stars for Crank
Its aesthetic works for a few minutes but gets tedious. Was really sick of it by the end.

ah-bloo-bloo

It's good fun and silly in the right way.

no

is this cinebro

jeez louise papa cheese

no

Free fire was a lot better than Crank familam.

they're hardly comparable

is my girlfriend retarded

Crank is a Wagner opera: pompous, self-gratifying, indulgent. Free fire is a Puccini opera: self-assured, restrained, destillied.

Emily Jean's movies >>>>>>>>>> Crack = Free Fure

>flicks like Crank and Free fire are the equivalent of Puccini and Wagner
And this why film is and will always be superior art form

Emily Jean's films are the equivalent of God.

>Robert Aldrich
>The Cremator
>If he hollers, let him go
>blood massacre
>The most dangerous game

I'm nailing down the taste of /lbg/ and I notice a trend. Also, notice a trend of why people tend to not like Chaplin here. Most of the movies /lbg/ likes deal with murder, aggression, insanity, cynicism, and the general worst of humanity. The question is "does /lbg/ only rate a film highly if it piles on these elements" and "how do those elements make a film better let alone more complex". Is Chaplin therefore garbage because his films don't apply to /lbg/'s thinking.

Wrong. Enjoy hell, blasphemer.

THIS IS BLASPHEMY
THIS IS MADNESS

Also
>favorite films are Godard's worst movie and a Spaghetti western

How could you say you want to watch the best films and learn about the medium but haven't watched Citizen Kane or Magnificent Ambersons. What's with the gookshit

i like chaplin

But at best you'd give one of his flicks 3 1/2 stars because they lack the required amount of gore, aggression, and cynicism

I've seen citizen kane
I like slow contemplative films so I tend to watch a lot of them

That's because Orson Welles is shit. War Kong Wai long surpassed him. Even Wai isn't that good.

>Wai
what's it like to be retarded

I just like horror movies..
What I've seen of Chaplin though has been pretty good.

i gave the gold rush 4 stars

Why do you only watch the gook ones. Also static shots of people looking at walls is the cinematic equivalent of not trying. I could fucking do that. Even double exposures is nothing new.

I don't know what you want from me

>The Gold Rush
So you're just looking for entertainment.

The Kid and a Woman from Paris are by far his best 20's films

>Insulting Sergio Leone
Now you are just trying too hard

>I could fucking do that.
but you didn't. it's the same argument people made against Jackson Pollock, and it's just as invalid now as it was then

i only look for entertainment. i hate gore, aggression, and cynicism

I want you to read a fucking book (not Wikipedia). Actually learn about techniques, blocking, technical developments in cameras and get some better taste.

but i like wikipedia (not books)
