I'm confused. If China a communist states, why do they have a large booming private business sector and have many billionaires, ergo capitalist ? I thought communist government controls everything?

>Communist(X)
>State Capitalism(O)

is "communist" but everyone likes money. politics/business are not entirely separate and things are very corrupt there

Eh?

They used to be fully economic communist, but they are transitioning into more free market. Don't be fooled though. Many industries are still either directly state runned or owned by politicians. The banks are all state controlled, too. It is kind of a mixed economy...

I have heard theories that the reason of the reforms are but a temporary measure to bring more prosperity to China before they make their final transition into an "ideal" communist society. But who really knows.

No one even tries anymore. I swear this place has been flooded by 13 yo's and loser trolls.

In the 70s/80s, the Chinese government realized the blue side would win the Cold War.

However China was still seen by the west as a giant hub for socialism, being almost as dangerous as the USSR.

So what the CCP did was this: start negotiations with the USA as to how they could become friends.

Eventually what was agreed was that China would open itself for American businesses, and chill the fuck out with their socialist expansion plan. The CCP and the USA would then start being friends and trade, trade a lot. Both benefited from it.

As time passed, the 80s came. The 90s came. The 00s came.

By the beggining of the century the Chinese already had an extremely fast growing economy thanks to its HUGE workforce and US factories being relocated to China. Everything was going extremely well for them. And then they started having their own national pretentions, instead of just working arround their economy.

In practice there is a divide. There are the special economic zones (which make up for most of population, along all of the coast, covering the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, etc) and the countryside which is still under socialist regime. The countryside has very few population, about 15%.

So it's basically bureaucratic capitalism.

Its not really a communist state if you look at it closely. Yes, the government controls everything in general, but private industries in China controls the economy. If the government were to fuck with the Chinese CEOs, they will fuck the economy up in a day and leave the country and never come back. They can and they will.

China IS communist.
>Corrupt party members, officials, etc.
>Very limited freedom/rights (no speech, religion, self-defense, etc.)
>People with no moral/ethical values and standards due to purges by commies
>China technically owns everything
>No free market - everything is manipulated
>Some parts are still like gulags, where they're essentially slaves like the agricultural areas

Market Socialism.

not communist

no they are state capitalist aka communist.

But they're not communist, they're just corrupt as fuck.

The USSR and Mao's China were communist. Modern day China is not communist.

>If China a communist states
It's not.

>state capitalist aka communist
Might be the dumbest thing I've ever read on Sup Forums

Modern day China is more capitalist than the US.

it's not

Because Marx said that without capitalistic stage u cant build communism or socialism . In 1920s in Soviet Russia there were same shit. Capitalism by commies.

It sure is. Look at the air in Beijing.

Thank God for the epa.
Thank god America isn't as capitalist as China.

the invisible hand will provide

The are State Capitalist not Communist.

its not economically communist but its culturally communist. one party, censorship, no concept of human rights, etc.

Filthy mainlanders

Because China's communists realised that they must adapt to changing times and situations. They realised their original communist creed must be molded to fit Chinese society.

Land acquisition.
You can't have a booming economic without infrastructure.
Look at India ffs.
