Conforming and rebellion, basically.

Toxic masculinity

>"men can't wear pink shir-"

Now it's the inverse. If you don't wear a pink shirt you are a homophobic racist and SJW's will kick the shit out of you.

Why couldn't a man be disgusted by his incompetent workplace in 1997 without going insane and killing himself?

The dude was on Joe Rogan's podcast to tell his story. Definitely worth a watch

Like I'm supposed to feel sorry for an uneducated literal retard with a comfy power plant technician job and doing it as incompetently as possible making a 90's tier salary.

yes because a nuclear power plant would have the same social climate as a modern college

>Show started in 1989
>Everything after Behind the Laughter (2000) is not canon
>EVERYTHING after Behind the Laughter (2000) is not canon
>Complain about 90s salary

because funny gag for homer simpson show

Cause he looked gay lol

Jerry wore a pink shirt in an earlier episode of Seinfeld

Because masculinity was far more fragile back then.

...

Because pink went out in the late '80s?

It was more about corporate conformity than what was socially acceptable in general.

Pink wasn't 'in' in 1991 and people implying it's a gender/sexual orientation issue is a fucking dumb cunt.

"Earth tones" started taking over about then, as a kneejerk reaction from the aging baby boomers who didn't like all this bright colorful neon shit they were seeing the kids wear in the last couple years of the 80s. You would then be funky by mixing and matching compatible shit that neatly, purposely didn't fit together at the edges, but it still had to be tidy. And the busier and more the patterns, the more reflective of all your varied nuances of your personality were blah blah blah. It was funk, but controlled, muted funk. Wearing an all pink single color shirt would have been like standing there screaming one message, and that message would have been I AM LIKE A GIRL.

Not acceptable.

>you are a homophobic racist
yes. and?

Its a joke, marge says its no big deal and it turns out to be. Its a funny way to get homer in a mental asylum because where the episodes arc happens

Americans are sick.
