Who is the best super man that isn't actually Superman? Who's your favorite Superman archetype (Superman dummy if you will)? The ones in pic related are:
But there's more out there, who is your favorite? (mine is The Plutonian) Do you prefer him more than the real Superman? What is about Supes' universality that makes him such a archetypal character?
Nolan Hill
That one with the mustache
Carter Walker
Captain motherfucking Marvel.
Caleb Martinez
>But there's more out there
Gabriel Reyes
Omni-Man.
Aaron Foster
The marvel side is missing mutant superman, but then he was a bland OC who came from Wood's run so it makes sense that no one remembers him.
Noah Ramirez
KALLARK
Charles Brown
Why Isn't Thor included.?
Grayson Murphy
Because every one of those were created as an extention of or answer to Superman. The very idea of Thor predates Superman, though he may have been made a Marvel character to have an answer to him.
Ryder Hernandez
because superman would kick the everloving shit out of thor any day of the fucking week, that includes Thor's day
Matthew Myers
Steel
Robert Anderson
>Omni-Man
I liked the guy but he went absolutely bananas for a time so no
Logan Wright
did he start calling himself omniwoman?
Chase Richardson
Irredeemable is so fucking good
Robert Lee
Is Incorruptable worth a read as well?
Joseph Hill
Plutonian has the most interesting backstory and best powers. Nolan has better fights though.
Nathaniel Morris
ehhhh. I guess.
Eli Nguyen
Yes, it is better.
Nathaniel Butler
This is easy. Prime...cos he's got the most muscles. God he was so fucking 90s
Nicholas Carter
TAS & MOS/BVS are my favorite incarnations of Superman himself.
Plutonian is interesting & well written but is too pure fucking evil for me to say I like or enjoy him. (I had to take a break from reading Irredeemable at issue 16 as it was depressing the fuck out of me)
So at this point I will say JMS & Hickman's Hyperions are my favorite homages. And Blue Marvel is also pretty cool.
Haven't read any of him but Mr. Majestic caught my eye.
Ethan Gray
Alan Moore's Supreme is the only correct answer.
Anthony Barnes
Isn't Mjolnir magic?
Oliver Baker
This should be something X-Men should pick up on more.
Zachary Rivera
the power puff girls
Julian Bennett
>Who's your favorite Zibarro. I love this pretentious clown.
Chase Barnes
So like, are the Powerpuff girls strength equaled to all 3 of them=superman level or do they each have superman level power?
Lincoln Torres
Bruce Willis in Unbreakable
Xavier Nelson
They each have roughly Superman level power.
Angel Kelly
Statesman
Jack Brown
Even after all these years, it still hurts.
David Watson
superwoman from ultramans world elevated louis elevated luthor superwoman prime lucy lane

>The High Heh Wait, what's the name of the Gorilla comics one?
Ayden Price
The one true answer
Landon Moore
while I wouldn't call him my favorite I liked virtue/ moral man and his story during that one Spiderman arc.
Oliver Carter
Why put Omni-man and not Invincible?
Carson Davis
Hyperion, but specifically the King Hyperion from Exiles.
Jordan Ward
...
Eli Wood
>X-men writers creating their op oc do not steal characters What a shocker!
Camden Green
> sprays acid from his genitals
for what purpose.
Christian Phillips
DC is that you?
Noah Diaz
Goku
Zachary Turner
Does Mexican Superman still count as Superman?
Eli Murphy
Damn that costume looks like shit
Brody Howard
Captain Marvel/Shazam. He's better at being Superman than Superman himself.
Jace Cook
Saitama
Bentley Evans
Colossus
Brandon Evans
Thor
Marvel's Thor feels more like Superman, just with a Norse bent.
Wyatt Morgan
What about Nate Greh, aka Xman?
Luis Bell
Invincible is more like Superboy. I sometimes think of him as an amalgamation of Jonathan and Connor Kent, with his father being inspired by the Superman from "Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow?"
Of course, there are other differences, but Invincible feels more like a continuayion to the Superman mythos
Kevin Miller
...
Landon Taylor
Wheres Dr. Manhattan
I know he is based off the Atom, but they have also called him Superman
Christopher Butler
this
Thomas Butler
Rahxephon

Does Miracleman count?
Aiden Young
Metaman
Blake Cox
Yeah but it doesn't matter if the guy swinging it is a bitch
Hudson Clark
>Beat the shit out of the hulk like it was nothing.
Based Zoran
John Ortiz
Duh
Camden Davis
I like Eradicator.
Isaiah Nguyen
Plutonian is definitely my favorite out of those
Cooper Lopez
Eiko Magami
Elijah Gomez
This thread needs more Superman pastiches
Justin Ross
>Bizarro >Ultraman
These two and Ultiman.
Ayden Rogers
The guy from Edison Rex is missing.
Cooper Gray
What defines a character as a Superman pastiche?
Luis Gutierrez
Last son of a doomed planet is popular, and emphasis on Truth, Justice, and the American Way is another. Or just a flying brick with a spitcurl.
Samuel Sanchez
That doesn't fit the Sentry. Or Saitama. Or Captain Marvel Jr.
Or even Homelander, whose actually a clone
Joseph Davis
HAH!
Mason Young
John Carter He basically inspired super man's original move set.
Jacob Gutierrez
>homage to homage
Ian Walker
He's from Invincible. SPOILERS He wasn't the last survivor of !Krypton, but a scout sent by !Krypton to check Eath's defenses. So at some point he just goes on a rampage and kills the entire !Justice League prior to the invasion.
William Ross
Nah, I feel it kinda strays away from it's premise too far eventually and at times comes off as being dark and edgy just for the sake of it. The ending's goat though and it's worth reading just for that. This. Incorruptible is a lot better.
Jeremiah Miller
>gods and monsters series has been canceled
Thomas Wood
I hope you grow tastebuds inside your rectum
Logan Thompson
Wildstorm > Maximum Man.
That's a Captain Marvel/Billy Batson pastiche. I guess an argument could be made that to the extent that any Captain Marvel pastiche is ALSO a Superman pastiche it's fair, but it feels to me like a second-generation pastiche kind of falls into a different category, thematically.
Joseph Kelly
I like the Samaritan.
Zachary Nguyen
I foyu're adding Omni-Man you might as well add Immortal. Immortal is similar to Omni-Man, althought he's an Earth native
