Guys like you just handwave literally everything the fans point out and dismiss it as coincidence, a "death of the artist" interpretation, or my personal favorite - "headcanon," overlooking the fact that for that to be true, the film would have to be the cinematic equivalent of a junkyard tornado assembling a 57 Chevy. If you truly understand the characters, if you embrace the themes being explored, virtually all the criticisms vanish. If you don't, that makes neither the film's creative team nor the film itself stupid. It makes *you* stupid and blind for looking at a Renaissance artwork and insisting it's just paint on a canvas that happens to look like a picture.

Wonder no longer. Wonder Woman is a great movie, it's not a masterwork in the genre, just a solid, enjoyable, very accessible film released in an environment where that alone is enough to garner praise and positive feedback. Some of the themes present in MoS and BvS are found there as well, but couched in such a way as to give them both a superficial, more "progressive" interpretation and a more subversive, controversial one. To wit - that humanity needs to step up its game if it wants to consider itself something deserving of larger-than-life heroes.

As for the critics themselves, it's not hard to see how "paying them off" wouldn't necessarily come in a tangible, provable form. Maybe they're just "uninvited" to the next premier. Maybe their invitation gets "lost." Maybe they get dropped off a mailing list because of a "technical error." Maybe a star just suddenly becomes too "busy" to make time for interviews.
There are dozens of ways that their careers could just dry up overnight, and who would ever believe them? What could they ever prove? I mean, no one takes "family entertainment" that seriously, right?
