/tpg/ - Twin Peaks General

Windom Earle is inquestionably the best part of season two, simply because what enshrouds the Deleuzian representation of negation in “The Black Lodge” is by nature (W)indom (E)arle. We, the pure ample aspiration, the capital v-Viewer are held fantastically in a grip of pleasure as "solicitude", certainty as “knowingness” and “The Black Lodge” as ontological blockchain/godhead. TMFAP is absolute fact in opposition but the baroque villainy of WE's (and any Lovecraftian) the same sin to die “now” as on the path to Madness. The conditional “It” (DC) creates nothing in response, Earle's own humanity is reflected in his oeuvre of disguise-personalities. (performed) To WE (& the normative Cooper &Briggs) the Implacability of unsure sentiment is Earle’s selfenforcing principle, pleasure--simplicity. In Palmer, the reprised intelligences move towards psychosomatic transgression. WE's sickness is symptom & myth unlike the Palmer daughter his active agent is not important, but “normal” and yet pronouncedly considerable as such, bidding. “We a the, of not can he.” The subject of Earle is in an undiluted terrace viewed viewers become wrote wonders, noting nothing Indian anyhow in the Black Lodge (negation) Edition

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babalon

>Babalon (also known as the Scarlet Woman, Great Mother or Mother of Abominations) is a goddess found in the mystical system of Thelema, which was established in 1904 with English author and occultist Aleister Crowley's writing of The Book of the Law, her name being later given in other works. In her most abstract form, she represents the female sexual impulse and the liberated woman. In the creed of the Gnostic Mass she is also identified with Mother Earth.
>Babalon is a complex figure, although within one particular view of Thelemic literature, she is said to have three essential aspects: she is the Gateway to the City of the Pyramids, the Scarlet Woman and the Great Mother.

The American Girl (Phoebe Augustine) refers to the thing pounding on the door as her "mother":
>"You'd better hurry, my mother is coming"

>As Crowley wrote in his The Book of Thoth, "she rides astride the Beast; in her left hand she holds the reins, representing the passion which unites them. In her right she holds aloft the cup, the Holy Grail aflame with love and death. In this cup are mingled the elements of the sacrament of the Aeon".

Pic related. The box entity is seen holding a golden object at the beginning of the scene.

I want to escort Dougie around all day and just let him pet statues and get him coffees and take him to the potty

>mfw Earle is being finally recognized as great

>Within the mystical system of the A∴A∴, after the adept has attained the Knowledge and Conversation of his Holy Guardian Angel, he then might reach the next and last great milestone — the crossing of the Abyss, that great spiritual wilderness of nothingness and dissolution. Choronzon is the dweller there, and its job is to trap the traveler in his meaningless world of illusion.

Guardian Angels appeared in FWWM. Laura meets her Angel at the end of the movie, and Cooper presumably does too.
In S3 Cooper is thrown into an abyss by the Arm's Doppelganger, while screaming "non-existent". After falling through the void, he reaches the "Mauve Zone", where he meets two entities (Naido and the American Girl) that seem to play the same role.
In S2, Major Briggs is abducted in the woods and returns a couple of days later with a peculiar mark on his neck, the symbol of Choronzon. It's worth noting that Briggs suddenly appeared on his house wearing very old flight gear.

>However, Babalon is just on the other side, beckoning. If the adept gives himself totally to her—the symbol of this act being the pouring of the adept’s blood into her graal — he becomes impregnated in her, then to be reborn as a Master of the Temple and a saint that dwells in the City of the Pyramids.

In the "Mauve Zone", something starts pounding on a door when Cooper meets Naido. If the entity behind the door can be identified as Babalon, could Naido and the American Woman represent Choronzon? Could Rancho Rosa be an illusory world where Cooper is trapped in?

first for agent Tammy's ass

My grandfather was pretty much Dougie for the last year or two of his life. It's not as fun as you think.

Who the fuck wrote this and who was supposed to be impressed?

The best part of season 2 is Dale cracking the giant's enigma. Also, Cole in love.

first for COFFEE

l-lewd

I forget how Windom Earle was even introduced in Season 2. It just seemed like suddenly a villain dropped out of the sky and started playing chess with hostages for some reason? And then he had intimate knowledge of the black lodge somehow?

I need to rewatch season 2.

Reminder that there are officially 59 better shows than this overrated garbage, and once this dumb, confusing new season is over, there will be even more.

It took me a while to even realise Windom Earle was supposed to be the new villain. He came on so randomly.

You're clueless.

its ok sweetheart

Also worth noting, the symbol of Choronzon also appears at the beginning of episode 20, spinning through space and finally bursting into flames.

He's referenced by Albert in the first ep of season 2, when the Laura Palmer murder is still the most important element of the season.

Windom Earle was literally a filler character dude.

Merely rejecting someone's oververbose theories does not render me or my brain inferior to that by whom/which it was invented.
Fuck off with your want theories. Now I remember why Lost were shit.

>Lynch does not reference other mythos

But Frost surely does.

Who is the son of Dougie? Why he acts weird too, and moving backwards? Why Coop cries qhen he stare at him?

Maybe he is a fake too, like Dougie.

I've read enough academic papers to recognize an undergrad who is making shit up as he does. Your post is nonsense.

Illustrate me with some other thing besides pseudo-PHD, ouroborian self-fellatios.

Windom Earle was a terrible villain though and his character was obviously hastily thought out. None of that poorly written hogwash in the OP has any real basis and reads like the delusional ramblings of an illiterate schizophrenic with poor reasoning and analytical skills.

Ay, just a not so friendly reminder to you fanooks that T did the Dougie thing 10 fuckin years ago. Where's his credit? You think you're gonna get away with stealing our storylines, ya got another thing comin.

take a hint from the portrait of Kafka in Lynch's (Gordon Cole) office, you are looking for shit that isn't there.

Is Shellys daughter going to be playing a big part in the show? I hope they still have room to introduce more youthful Twin Peak characters

Stop bullying Windom, he's fine

Baffles me how Twin Peaks has this incredible in-depth lore. I forget how much Lynch and Frost put into this show it's fucking crazy.

New Thread Theme - From the collection of Leland Palmer

Only Westworld is flavor of the month, all of the rest all well established series.

This is what I meant when I said without Breaking Bad there would be no Season 3. Every network is trying to recreate that magic and those numbers. Some are wildly successful like GoT and others completely flop like Season 3.

Even at the end I can guarantee you S01-S02 will be remembered separately from S03.

that is the most retarded shit list I have ever fucking seen

It's a small blessing for them that redditors are so stupid, otherwise they'd realize it and all kill themselves. Jesus christ.

who reads it anyway

Season 3 is the best thing on tv by a wide margin user

"You're still with me. That's good."

What did he mean by that?

Windham Earle plotline was retarded.

nice opinion user

Cooper's doppelganger and BOB are not the same. BOB is inside the doppelganger.

when he masturbates it can can count as sex

Reminder that Avatar: The Last Airbender is better than The Sopranos and Mad Men.

HELLLOOOOOoooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

>all these brainlets who can't into the genius of Windom
Can't hurl the Earle

Even lynch killed him when he returned. Earle was shit.

>you are looking for shit that isn't there

Thelema and Babalon were already referenced in TSHoTP, so I might not be that far-off.
Also, speculation is fun.

His death was satisfying though, he was the one character that thought he knew everything about the lodge and cockily dove straight in, or to be destroyed by it.

>Every network is trying to recreate that magic and those numbers
Really? Are you really trying to tell me Showtime hoped TP3 would be wildly successfull and bring in millions even tho it's not even that wildly available and really made for the fans of David Lynch and not only specifically Twin Peaks itself?
>S01-S02 will be remembered separately from S03.
no shit, it's so different from the moment it started. And that's not a bad thing, the original is 25 years old and the revival is its own thing that can't and won't replicate the same tone seasons 1-2 had.

1. Sopranos
2. Twin Peaks
3, Rome
4. The Wire
5. X-Files
6. Oz
7. Deadwood
8. LOST
9. Simpsons
10. Dexter

It's also Lynch's opinion.

>this many people took the bait
2/10 for effort since it was obvious
8/10 for outcome, good job

Find Laura :(

Lynch also made Inland Empire

If everything is ironic there is no way to find true meaning, therefore rendering any attempt at comunication useless.

That's just some guys theories, with no real basis.

NTb.

WINDOMED

I think it means that Cooper is stuck in the body together with Bob. So that bad Cooper is part Bob and part Cooper. Which explains why good Cooper is nothing more than a shell of his former self. I'd like to think that each Cooper embodies different parts like heart, body, mind..

>incomplete show

how is that an argument, one single season may be better than all the combined seasons of a finished show

>To attain the Grade of Magister Templi, he must perform two tasks; the emancipation from thought by putting each idea against its opposite, and refusing to prefer either; and the consecration of himself as a pure vehicle for the influence of the order to which he aspires.

>He must then decide upon the critical adventure of our Order; the absolute abandonment of himself and his attainments. He cannot remain indefinitely an Exempt Adept; he is pushed onward by the irresistible momentum that he has generated.

>Should he fail, by will or weakness, to make his self-annihilation absolute, he is none the less thrust forth into the Abyss; but instead of being received and reconstructed in the Third Order, as a Babe in the womb of our Lady BABALON, under the Night of Pan, to grow up to be Himself wholly and truly as He was not previously, he remains in the Abyss, secreting his elements round his Ego as if isolated from the Universe, and becomes what is called a "Black Brother." Such a being is gradually disintegrated from lack of nourishment and the slow but certain action of the attraction of the rest of the Universe, despite efforts to insulate and protect himself, and to aggrandize himself by predatory practices. He may indeed prosper for a while, but in the end he must perish, especially when with a new Aeon a new word is proclaimed which he cannot and will not hear...

It doesn't even matter.

>INB4 Yify
Yify is fine unless you're a massive faggot who needs to have 20+ gb rips to fill a massive hole in their hearts.

Why does everyone hate Windom? Without him, we wouldn't even have a plot for Season 2 or The Return. He was the whole reason Cooper broke in the lodge, he reminded Cooper of all of his failings.

Rome is to history what Game of Thrones is to George RR Martin

there haven't even been 10 good television shows

in no order
x-files, seinfeld, twin peaks, buffy the vampire slayer, law and order (original series only up to death of orbach)

Just film the final episode right after episode 7 and be fucking done with it

How do you do fellow redditor

>bad guy doesn't win
>the bad guy is therefore a bad character

>it's literally impossible to be completely ironic as a flawed human being
The problem comes when shifting the irony around just when someone begins to comprehend what's behind your words. That kind of people are the worst.

My heart is in the process of being fixed. I hope yours too, if it isn't already.

Because he was just a filler character to take up the role of bad guy between Lelands death and the finale. There is a reason he barely played a part in the finale other than being killed off by BOB

>buffy
what are you, a 14-year old girl?

>buffy the vampire slayer

jeez louise, are you a teenage girl or something

Windom's wife was a more important character than Windom.

This really doesn't need to be explained, right? If the Sopranos ended after season 2, how would it not be a massive black mark when judging the overall product?

>dat pic
I want to be Lynch in my next life

Who said it wasn't? If you had told me that 2 days ago then I'd say you were wrong but The Leftovers just ended and there's absolutely nothing worthwhile on TV right now nor in the next coming months.

Yeah man, TV networks LOVE throwing money into the trash. They expect nothing in return when you make a show for them. They love producing art, they just love it. Nope, no nostalgia wave riding here, not at all.

Yes, they'll get a few thousand extra online subscribers that will cancel after the show. Nothing more.
