Why are superheroes typically written as being very liberal? In American politics (and most superheroes are written by Americans and exist in America) liberals are the pro crime party and conservatives are the party that opposes crime

Because, historically, conservatives are anti-comics.

Conservatives hate comics. They aren't "decent."

In cases like Batman and Superman it makes sense since liberals believe that prison should be a place of rehabilitation rather then full on punishment. Liberals believe prisons should help the prisoner trying to give them a second chance in life and leave learning his lesson and hopefully becoming a citizen that can adjust to our society while Conservatives have a more punitive belief in prisons and that prisoners must pay for their actions, even if it's their own lives.

Also this

>conservatives are the party that opposes crime
>this is what Sup Forums actually believes

the whole post is bait, dont bother

but for a real explanation, the people involved in the production of cultural media (whether movies, games or TV, comics included) are typically young and liberal. It's just the nature of it. But there are plenty of conservative cartoonists if you know where to look.

Comics in general for all intents and purpouses are left wing propaganda. therightstuff.biz/2016/06/01/marvels-cold-blooded-fascist/

Because artists and writers are typically liberal.

Liberals don't even believe people should go to prison. There was a thing that was enacted called project exile where if you were arrested of any gun crime you were tried in federal court and if convicted had to go to federal prison, and this had a significant impact on gun crime, but liberals had to stopped because too many black drug dealers were going to federal prison for selling Crack while illegally carrying

because comics have always been liberal since inception

>Any and all artistic mediums in general for all intents and purposes are left wing propaganda
FIFY

>pro crime party

Which party wants to legalize weed, ban guns, legalize riots, and stop sending women to prison?

tumblr

>tumblr

which is 90% of the current DNC
Wasserman-Schultz is a LITERAL SJW

>ban guns

What part of making it a crime to own something is pro-crime?

>law abiding citizens can't protect themselves with guns
>criminals no longer need to worry about the victim responding with force

The whole argument for gun control is that too many drug dealers and gang members are being shot

I dunno why pro-gun people are worried, it's already been proven that a bunch of kids getting murdered doesn't change anything, and we know how much America loves to think of the children.

Most comics are written by liberal writers. Occasionally there's an exception, like Chuck Dixon and Nathan Edmonson.

>liberals are the pro crime party and conservatives are the party that opposes crime

This is such a bizarre strawman. Can we just get to the part where Commissioner Gordon tries to coerce Batman into violating another supervillain?

This.
Not a good or bad thing, that's just the mindset most artists have.

Actually isn't the act of being a superhero LIBERTARIAN by default?

>Self appointed guardians of justice
>Concerned with violent or destructive crime while leaving alone people who are just drug addicts or whatever
>Typically advocates of self-improvement, encouraging people to do the right thing for themselves, whether they're a kid or a person on a destructive path

>loves to think of the children
Not really, it's usually an excuse by parents so they won't admit that they're irresponsible and unaware of the lives of their own children.

It's very strange. Most comic authors seem to be leftists, but the very nature of Superhero stories are conservative.

I wish Nathan wasn't both a piece of shit IRL and a hack writer who barely "writes". His dad is a cool guy.

Depends. Early Superman was definitely not conservative, while early Batman was, and this has a lot to do with who their creators were.

God, I hate Sup Forums around the weekend.

You do realize that much of media has a Liberal tone to it, except perhaps for books right?

Only if they charged fees for saving people.

Yesterday Obama had the ATF stop giving out gun sale licences to people who don't own store, the 9th circut court (California) said only the rich and politicians have the right to carry guns outside your house (the circut Court for DC said everyone has a right), and Hillary Clinton said if she becomes president she will overturn the individual right to keep and bear arms.

Keep in mind like a month ago Obama said he was gunna stop pushing for gun control cause he is a massive liar

I can't be the only person who thought this was going to be another "Why doesn't Batman rape The Joker threads", right?

>Hurr durr libertarianism is straw objectivism

Have a (You)

Probably because conservative ideology lines up better with villains.

You misunderstand. I mean the actions of the characters don't seem to mesh well with the politics they're supposed to stand for. Many characters espouse liberal rhetoric but go on to tackle injustice in the most conservative way possible.

Plus the way comic authors are obsessed with maintaining the status quo is intrinsically conservative.
