What the fuck did I just spend my last three days watching?

What the fuck did I just spend my last three days watching?

It's like they took a bunch of fanfics for ATLA and decided to animate them

Korra had a great body though, huh?

I was actually surprised how bad book 2s first 4-6 episodes are after watching them again recently. You'd think i was prepared since i have watched it before.

The creators were never good writers. ATLA was good because it had real writers and a head writer to act as a sieve for Bryke's ideas.

Just got done marathoning ATLA.

Is Korra worth watching or no?

I say yes, but don't expect something as good as what you just watched.
Season one is 6/10
Season Two is 4/10 with 2 specific episodes being 8/10
Season Three is 8/10
Season Four is 6/10
All the finales are crap, S3 being the best, S2 being the worst.

Book 1 is pretty good, even though the finale is lacking. But i personally wish i could foget Book 2 and 4. Book 3 is about as good as Atla season 1.

If you do it though, prepare to be disappointed, since it is Wasted potential the show.

Season 1 had a multitude of problems, mainly Forced Romance/Love triangle/dodecahedron shit, Non-bender lives matter plotline, and too much probending.

ATLA was worse than LoK though.

Heh, no. You're objectively wrong.

I remember when I was 13 or 14 and thought up the concept of a Dark Avatar for a fanfic I never wrote.

Romance was shit yeah, Probending was not that much in it and while i didn't enjoy it too much, it was only 1 or 2 episodes. The Non-bender plot however was the main plot, so i don't think it was a problem at all. The problem was rather the villain and the last parts of the season.

Still a pretty good season overall imo.

Probending was more than 1 or 2 eps. the main bulk of the story didn't start till like episode 6, the first episode didn't have Pro bending, so it was at least 5.

...

Probending is dead after episode 6 and it is barely featured before episode 5. It is only a few training scenes and Korra being a fan of it before Spirit of competition (episode 5). There is still talk about and they're working on getting money for it, but that has more to do with the romance stuff that sucked.

Actually the main plot was picking up speed until episode 5 and then returned with episode 6.

Korrasami

Yeah I had the same thought
You'd think professional writers would have found a way to do it with better tact than a kid

Wow, maybe you watched a directors cut of the show, because the main story was probending from episode 2 to 6. Everything in the story revolved around Pro Bending. Korra wants to see a probending match. They need a waterbender to stay in the probending tournament. Korra's probending practice is going better than her Airbending practice. They don't have enough money to be in the Probending championship. They need to find a sponsor so they can continue probending. Amon is threatening probending. You can't close the probending arena.

Did I leave anything out?

You forgot the equalist plot i guess. But also that Probending isn't the main focus for most of the episodes. Most of that happens in the same episode actually. And it is happening alongside the plot with the equalists taking over, the taskforce and fear of Amons power.

Quite.

>liking Failure

>not liking hot, brown, sweaty failure

I know how you feel OP.
Just started the series yesterday. Only six eps in and I'm majorly disappointed.

It's like writers thought the best way to make the opposite Aang was to make the Avatar a hothead who's good at everything but can't get their way, forcing them to break shit/beat people up. It feels so hollow to ATLA. Plus the Mako-Bolin characters feel like Zuko-Sokka ripoffs.

Plus I hate the more industrial setting.

I marathoned both recently.

Korra never gets as good as ATLA, but I would recommend watching seasons 1 and 3. Watch 2 if you want to see them ruin spirits and the avatar, and watch 4 if you want to see an old friend

What makes 1 so good? I'm really not digging the story that much.

ATLA related question: how's the comics? Worth reading?

You're never gonna get those hours of your life back, user

When will the Korra was terrible meme die? It wasn't even close to AtLA standards but it certainly wasn't terrible. It had it's ups and downs just like most cartoons. Let's not forget the way the show was produced by the way. Nick ordered more than one season, which was the original plan, and end the end shafted the creators hard with shitty advertising and an internet only release.

I think it's the equalist conflict and Korra learning to be the avatar, though they failed pretty hard at resolving those conflicts.

>Man, I did not like the first season of this show.
>I think I'll watch three more seasons, no matter how how I still dislike it at every turn.
Explain this to me.

Not really.
Gurihiru's art is nice, but so that you're better off reading their Power Pack minis or Gwenpool.

Leftover hope from Atla?

It doesn't matter how the show was made to be bad, inasmuch as it is, in terms of a final product, bad.

Which explains why you'd start.
But to then watch the show series while not liking it?

That seems retarded to me.

It just feels like it's not going anywhere really. Like it jut feels flat and more like mere moments. ATLA had eps that people called filler but they fleshed out the world and gave the characters depth.

What's with the double talk talk?

Which episode was the epic fuck-you-Nick recap? I fucking cried with laughter at the bit where they drew phones on still images.

Seems dumb but it might be wanting to have a full opinion on the matter.

Double talk? It's just opinions clashing. We're not all the same person. We have different opinions. Granted mine is in the minority. I just didn't completely despise Korra like most people and I don't get why people did. Just seems like meming to try and trigger Korra fans at this point.

For me i saw the potential for something good and hoped it was going to become better. Also happened to like most of what Book 1 presented and only getting truly disappointed by the ending. Book 2 was harder desu but still the potential was there and i was hoping for improvement. Book 3 turned out to be pretty good imo, but i was let down by Book 4.

It wasn't until the very end that i couldn't get past the problems. I had throughout denied that Bryke was the problem, but turned out it was all along and that even though it had potential to be awesome they were never going to be able to deliver on it.

>PLEASE BE MY FRIENDS, ANONS
Fuck off, OP.

The only thing this show was good for was the lesbian femdom porn. Otherwise nothing it produced had a point considering it's entirely inferior to ATLA

Maybe even consider some people are finally getting around to it.
I saw ATLA earlier this yr and loved it. It's not the best thing ever but it was fun enjoyable. Then I decided to wait a bit before watching Korra. Finally started it and I'm not fond of it.

The quality of the porn completely compensated for everything.

Bryke's flaws as storytellers were apparent from ATLA Book 3. They failed to develop their primary villain, Ozai, and his battle with Aang was just a slugfest that was resolved with TWO deus ex machinas. The chiropractic rock was worse.

Well, I mean the anons are right in their opinions that Season 1 and 3 are the best, season 2 is the worst and season 4 is stuck in the middle.

You're not gonna get once concise opinion that you can trust though. Though, in this user's opinion it's worth the watch if you liked AtLA, if not just to see the lasting effects of Aang's actions in the future, which was one of my favorite parts about Korra.

LoK's main problem was writing. there were lots of good elements and concepts, but the writers' inability to weld any of the elements together into a good narrative ruined it. they failed on the micro level too; they couldn't figure out what to do with half the characters they introduced and failed to have them develop believable relationships with each other.

i get the impression that the show was in the hands of a bunch of idea guys who could churn out some good stuff, but desperately needed a hard-nosed professional to come in and organize the whole effort

Thank you. I thought I was the only one that hated the way ATLA handled that.

>a feminine yet ripped brown girl with huge tits will never exist to pin you down and take you

The rock and turtle things could have been handled better for sure, but to me it didn't take away from the ending.

I also disagree on the Ozai thing, he was build up as a major threat throughout the show and he did deliver on that until the AS kicked in. So i have to say i thought Bryke were great following Atla and most of LoK where is blamed nick for most of the problems until Book 4 aftermath where they showed themselves as being proud of everything that happened in LoK. That was the moment i realised they had gotten pretty much everything they wanted to do in LoK and the result speaks for itself.

Maybe ATLA was just their only good work. A mistake of brilliance.

The solo books/comics might be horrid.

>an elegant and classy rich woman will never exist to get lewd with you in odd situations

>deleted
Cucks.

Nah.

>Not fucking failure and never returning her calls

The only downside is Korrasami completely eclipsed all other lewds. It's nothing but lesbian porn, God help you if you want to find pics of Desna being railed

>not getting your squad to hold her down as you all take turns filling her ovary with your combined sperm so that the DNA rape kit breaks

>Desna being roughly railed
Noted.
Check the Sup Forumsllection in a few days.

Not all heroes wear capes!

>doesn't like lok

Congrats, wanna cookie or something?
Otherwise what's the point of making this same thread over and over again

Just so you can feel people agree with you and fap to that regularly?

Korra threads are just bait to get people to post lesbian porn and see how long it takes the jannies to delete it

This.

So, as someone who's never seen TLOK, what exactly is bad about it, compared to the first?

Each season has a mostly separate, too short plot.

The characters are weaker.

The plots are weaker.

The second season is REALLY FUCKING DUMB.

i watched LoK before seeing ATLA and desu the second season didnt seem that much worse than the others. i can see how someone who had watched ATLA would be livid at all the radical and pointless changes to everything relating to the avatar cycle and the spirit world, but for someone who didnt know about any of that stuff going in, the writing is only slightly dumber than usual

that's exactly what they did

>korra will never rest her thick chocolate tits on your head

Korra is a terrible protagonist.

>Korra will never spoon you and hold you tight, feeling her tensed muscles around you
